Here we go again. President Donald Trump says he wants to make a deal with Iran and avoid war. And he’s sending negotiators to Oman for talks with Iranian diplomats on Friday. Sound familiar? Ahead of scheduled U.S.–Iranian talks in Oman last June, Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran, instigating a war that Trump later briefly joined with a bombing raid on Tehran’s main nuclear facilities. Not quite eight months later, the world anxiously waits to see if recent history will repeat itself, this time with America leading the charge. Israel, of course, is worried that Trump won’t attack....

Douglas bought the bread on September 22, 2025, at the Walmart store located at 1575 Space Center Drive in Colorado Springs, per the lawsuit. The loaf of MarketSide-branded bread allegedly had a 'sell-by' label placed directly over its preparation instructions. This included the detail that the bread was actually a 'take and bake' product, rather than ready-to-eat. A Colorado man sued Walmart after he claimed to suffer 'severe' injuries from eating raw bake-to-eat bread that allegedly expanded in his stomach. Jordan T. Douglas, of El Paso County, said he spent three days at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central after ingesting the...

Average temperatures in Cortina, Italy, have risen by 6.4 degrees Fahrenheit since the region first hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956, according to a recent analysis by Climate Central. It’s not unusual for athletes to spare no effort to put themselves into position to win, but this might be taking it a bit too far. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has confirmed that it is investigating allegations that male ski jumpers at this year’s Winter Olympics in Italy might have injected hyaluronic acid into their penises in hopes of gaining a competitive advantage. How might that help an athlete in a ski jump contest? According to the German publication, Bild, which first reported the controversy in January, suggests athletes are artificially enlarging their penises before official body measurements to...

The Kremlin said Thursday it regretted the expiration of the last remaining nuclear arms pact between Russia and the United States, while President Trump declared he was against keeping its limits and wants a better deal. The New START treaty’s termination left no caps on the two largest atomic arsenals for the first time in more than a half-century, fueling fears of an unconstrained nuclear arms race. Russian President Vladimir Putin last year declared his readiness to stick to the treaty’s limits for another year if Washington followed suit, but Mr. Trump has ignored the offer and argued that he...

Ric Edelman isn’t budging from the groundbreaking cryptocurrency investment strategies he urged six months ago, even as Bitcoin lingers far from its record-breaking heights. The founder of the Digital Assets Council of Financial Professionals views the current environment—with Bitcoin falling back below $90,000 going into the weekend—as an opportunity to buy the asset before it inevitably regains momentum. “Right now, the message is simple and compelling,” he recently told Decrypt. “If you liked Bitcoin at $100,000 or $125,000, you have to love it at $85,000. This is the same message that advisors give their clients anytime the stock market declines,...

It seems like a long time since that Labour landslide. It’s said that all political careers end in failure and it’s certainly true that, while it’s being ousted by your party or being turfed out by the electorate, most Prime Ministers don’t leave the job of their own accord. Currently Sir Keir Starmer is battling for control of his party a mere 18 months after a spectacular election triumph. The intervening period has seen a succession of bad news stories for the Premier, along with cabinet scandals and embarrassing u-turns - including on an income tax rise at the last...

Are demographics really destiny? The 19th-century philosopher Auguste Comte, credited with the aphorism, emphasized that population trends are the most reliable predictors of a country's long-term trajectory. Comte actually said "demography" was destiny, which makes more sense, but the idea that a nation's future can be predicted by figuring out where people are moving is still a solid theory. In 2002, Democrats John Judis and Ruy Teixeira wrote The Emerging Democratic Majority, which significantly revived the "demography is destiny" argument. They proposed that growing minority populations and professional classes would create an inevitable advantage for the Democratic Party — a...

Nearly 60,000 unauthorised migrants and convicted criminals have been removed or deported from the UK since Labour took office, the Home Office has said. The announcement came amid claims that the government was promoting “harmful stereotypes” by equating migration with criminality. Officials said the figure was the highest number in a decade. The department said 15,200 people who were in the UK illegally were removed since the 2024 election – a 45% increase on the previous 19 months. A statement said 43,000 people left voluntarily after being told they were in the UK illegally. Deportations of foreign national offenders have...
