Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday urged allies to impose more sanctions on Moscow should Russia not agree to an unconditional ceasefire at ongoing talks in Istanbul, Turkey. "Our number one priority is a full, unconditional, and honest ceasefire. This must happen immediately to stop the killing and create a solid basis for diplomacy," said Zelensky, addressing fellow leaders at the European Political Community summit in Tirana. If the Russian representatives in Istanbul are not to agree to a ceasefire then "the world must respond," he said. "There needs to be a strong reaction, including sanctions Russia's energy sector and...

I'm sitting here reading about "Circular Breathwork" posted by ConservativeMind (another one of his/her great articles about health). It's fascinating how continuous, deep breathing without pauses between inhalation and exhalation may alleviate stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD, while enhancing self-awareness and life satisfaction - things we can all use. (See Circular breathwork induces altered states of consciousness linked to improved mental health, Medical Xpress / Communications Psychology ^ | April 28, 2025 | Justin Jackson / Martha N. WASHINGTON, D.C. — Democrats in Congress have angrily demanded answers as to who repeatedly lied to the American people in order to cover up former President Biden's cognitive decline. Faced with a fresh set of overwhelming evidence that Biden could no longer function by the end of his term, Democrats sought to know who was responsible for engaging in widespread deception to allow a mentally incapacitated man to remain the most powerful person in the world. "Who would do this?" cried Senator Chuck Schumer, hands clenched in fury. "Someone has attempted to perpetrate the largest, most brazen political cover up...

Conservatives on the House Budget Committee on Friday blocked their party’s megabill from reaching the floor, citing concerns that the legislation to fulfill President Trump’s domestic agenda would add too much to the deficit. It was a remarkable revolt that threatened to upend the party’s drive to push the legislation through the House before Memorial Day, and sent Republican leaders scrambling to try to put down the uprising. Five Republicans — Representatives Chip Roy of Texas, Ralph Norman of South Carolina, Josh Brecheen of Oklahoma, Andrew Clyde of Georgia, and Lloyd Smucker of Pennsylvania — joined Democrats in voting against...

VIDEOJames Comey and Allen Dulles. Both were Deep State. Both were FIRED by Presidents they HATED. Both still had allies in the government after they were fired. Is it a stretch to believe that both had more very dark parallels especially after James Comey made clear his seashells threat against President Trump?

Exercise can counter the detrimental effects of cancer treatment, such as heart and nerve damage and brain fog, suggests an overarching review. Exercise also seems to boost psychological well-being and overall quality of life, say the researchers. The researchers carried out an umbrella review of the existing pooled data analyses of randomized controlled trial results, published between 2012 and July 2024. The review included 485 associations from 80 articles, all evaluated as being of moderate to high quality. Among these associations, the types of exercise of any length, intensity, and duration included mind-body (138, 28.5%), such as Qigong, tai chi,...

Import prices ticked up slightly in April, driven by higher costs for nonfuel goods even as fuel prices continued to slide, according to data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The Import Price Index rose 0.1 percent in April, following a 0.4 percent decline in March. Over the past year, import prices were up just 0.1 percent. But excluding fuel, prices for imported goods rose 0.4 percent in April and were up 1.2 percent from a year earlier, suggesting continued resilience in U.S. demand for foreign goods despite the implementation of new tariffs in early April. The Trump...

A new study has suggested that habitual coffee consumption of 4–6 cups and over (with one cup measuring at 125ml) per day is associated with a reduced risk of frailty. The study is the first to analyze the relationship between coffee consumption and the underlying components of frailty. Coffee consumption has previously been linked to reducing the risk of some of the natural symptoms of aging, such as improving cognitive function and mitigating against inflammatory-related diseases. Researchers conducted a detailed analysis over a long seven-year follow-up period, surveying 1,161 adults aged 55+ years through the Longitudinal Aging Study Amsterdam (LASA)....

Researchers have found reductions in carbon dioxide saturation during circular breathwork sessions were correlated with the emergence of altered states of consciousness. Altered states resembled those reported in psychedelic experiences and were associated with improvements in psychological well-being and reductions in depressive symptoms. These practices involve continuous, deep breathing without pauses between inhalation and exhalation, often conducted in communal settings and accompanied by emotionally evocative music. Early studies suggest circular breathwork may alleviate stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD, while enhancing self-awareness and life satisfaction. A total of 61 participants with previous breathwork experience took part and 43 participants engaged in...

Taking up space in my kitchen is a G.E. dishwasher. We rarely use it because, frankly, it sucks. Too often, dishes must be rewashed after a cycle long enough that it might scrub the glaze from the ceramic, obviating the point of having an appliance dedicated to that task. My complaint isn't isolated; Americans have complained for years that appliances which once saved time and energy now produce frustration—largely because of regulations that hobble their ability to function. To their credit, the Trump administration and members of Congress are rolling back red tape and liberating appliances. The result should be...

California Gov. Gavin Newsom has called for closing another prison as part of his newly revised budget proposal. If that happened, it would be the fifth state prison that was closed during the Newsom administration. The Criminal and Judicial Branch portion of the Democratic governor’s budget, presented on Wednesday and subject to legislative approval, called for $13.6 billion for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. It also called for closing one of the state’s prisons by October 2026 to save an estimated $150 million. Newsom’s budget didn’t say which prison would be closed. In his budget, the governor noted...

The Jalisco State Attorney General's Office denied that Ricardo Ruíz, alias “El Tripa,” a known hitman of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), had ordered the murder, according to early investigations. Authorities stated that, so far, Ruíz Velasco's name does not formally appear in the case file and has not been mentioned in any of the testimonies gathered. Nonetheless, despite the Jalisco Prosecutor's denial, social media users continue to claim that Valeria Márquez had some type of connection to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), and are calling on the authorities in charge of the case to thoroughly investigate any...

About ten years ago, I spoke with a friend from Austria. They were visiting the U.S. and we had the typical "Second Amendment" conversation that we usually have with Europeans. Then we talked about NATO and how Europe has been riding for free, i.e. very low, if any, military spending. I politely pressed them and they admitted that they couldn't afford all that "free stuff" if they had to build their military. And then the lady joked about depending on the U.S. to protect them. (snip) It's refreshing to see that some voices in Europe are sounding the same theme....

The United States Secret Service (USSS) has initiated an investigation into former FBI Director James Comey following allegations that he incited violence against President Donald Trump in a now-deleted Instagram post. The controversy arose after Comey, who was dismissed by Trump early in his first term presidency, shared an image featuring seashells arranged to form the numbers “8647.” The number “86” is colloquially associated with the act of removing or eliminating something or someone — such as when a patron is “86’d” from a bar or restaurant after being too intoxicated or rowdy. Therefore, the phrase “86 47” appears to...
