In North Carolina, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed it arrested four people at a county courthouse, according to local media reports, prompting the sheriff to express concerns about a lack of communication from the agency as well as about disruption to court proceedings. The chief medic of a Ukrainian marine brigade who arrived at the prison in 2022, Volodymyr Labuzov, said: “This is a sacred ritual for them. "Blindfolded, with your hands tied and your head bowed low, you are ordered to walk, and every dog standing there considers it necessary to hit you with something.” But Labuzov said this was just the start of a string...

To help Democrats, Biden’s Department of Justice brought the hammer down on Peter Navarro for engaging in conduct that was not even remotely criminal. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, has released a series of emails from 2022 showing the FBI attempted to crush a member of the first Trump administration for refusing to bow to the Jan. 6 Committee’s unlawful demands. Grassley explains the emails in an April 29 letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel. “My office has obtained Biden administration emails regarding the investigation and later prosecution of Peter Navarro,” Grassley wrote....

The minerals deal was enough to entice President Donald Trump to cave, siding with Kiev and permitting the first US sale of military equipment to Ukraine since taking office. Trump has been extremely critical of Zelensky since the war began, consistently warning Zelensky that he has blood on his hands and must end the war. Congress approved a $50 million defense package to Ukraine through direct commercial sales (DCS). Trump is a businessman first and foremost—the mineral deal had to be approved before he would approve of any aid package. The United States now has preferential rights to extract minerals...

President Donald Trump on Friday said he is "taking away" Harvard's tax exempt status. "It's what they deserve,” he said in a Truth Social post. The decision will likely face legal challenges. Harvard’s president has said revoking the university's tax-exempt status would be unlawful and endanger "our ability to carry out our educational mission." Trump previously called for Harvard to lose its tax exempt status after the university said it would not comply with the administration's series of demands, including actions on antisemitism and the use of DEI on campus.

~A headline from Scotland's Daily Record: Three masked children held captive in 'house of horrors' since Covid pandemic So who was holding them captive? I used to play the guitar but broke my wrist, ruptured a tendon, other life events, and quit. I kept the gear (2 Gibsons, a Fender and a Martin, with amps.) I'm relearning, but from a different tact. I formerly simply learned songs without realizing any principles or theory. Now I'm starting by learning scales. Am pentatonic, for starters. Question: I know this scale works with songs written in Am, but I also read that the Am pentatonic scale also works in A major. The only difference is the root note. Am I understanding this correctly?
