Keir Starmer must strengthen the rules around political donations to protect the electoral system from foreign interference, the Electoral Commission has said, amid rising concerns about Elon Musk’s plans to donate millions of pounds to Reform UK. Vijay Rangarajan, chief executive of the elections watchdog, said that linking donations to political parties to the UK profits of companies owned by foreigners was one of the urgent changes needed to retain the trust of voters. The move, which the Guardian understands is being considered by the government, could cap the amount that Musk, the world’s richest man, could donate through the...

We could use more people in Washington like Senator Rand Paul (R-KY.) He's one of the rarest of rare breeds in the federal government, a fiscal hawk - and he's unapologetic about it, especially now, in the Festivus season, which he has adopted as part of an annual observation. Granted, the made-up holiday of Festivus didn't start with the good senator. It was introduced to the national culture by comedian Jerry Stiller on the television show "Seinfeld," as a sort of Christmas alternative; he described it as "Festivus, a holiday for the rest of us." In the show's canon, a...

Former President Bill Clinton has been hospitalized after developing a fever, a spokesperson said Monday. Clinton, 78, was admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., Monday afternoon "for testing and observation after developing a fever," his deputy chief of staff, Angel Ureña, said in a statement. "He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving," the statement continued. Clinton has had several health issues over the past two decades, mostly related to heart problems. He had a quadruple bypass surgery in September 2004 and two coronary stents placed in his heart in February...

"Those spared include child killers and mass murderers. . . .The Trump administration executed 13 people, but the federal government has not executed anyone under Biden. . . . Like quickly selling border wall parts for pennies on the dollar, commuting these murderers' sentences may be another way for Biden to hinder Trump’s agenda. , , ,The death penalty saves lives and can also be used to save tax dollars."

Even a presidential administration as incompetent, feckless, and clueless as the Biden administration, it seems, can read the writing on the wall — if they get their noses rubbed in it. In the latest example of just this, the administration has withdrawn its plan to forgive a large number of student loans — and we can take the word "forgive" to mean "transfer the liability to the taxpayers."The Biden administration has withdrawn two major plans to deliver student loan forgiveness. The proposed regulations would have allowed the secretary of the U.S. Department of Education to cancel student loans for several groups...

After an Arizona constitutional amendment allowing abortion past 15 weeks was recently certified, abortion businesses in the state announced they can’t wait to kill preborn children later in pregnancy, with at least one admitting that it is already committing abortions up to about 24 weeks, even though the 15-week law is still in effect until overturned by the courts. Dr. Atsuko Koyama, an abortionist at Camelback Family Planning in Phoenix, told The Copper Courier that her facility is now committing abortions up to the point of “fetal viability” because they are “confident” the current law restricting abortions after 15 weeks...

California conditioned these shoplifters to not worry about getting caught. I love their reaction when they find out that the law has changed.

The Canadians have banned private health insurance for anything deemed medically necessary by the state. That has not resulted in a socialist paradise, where no medical claim is ever denied. The state keeps a lid on spending by forcing Canadians to wait for care. The story is similar in Britain. Private insurance is legal. 1 in 8 Britons has it. They buy it because wait times for care in the publicly run health care system are interminable.

We're grateful for any gift we receive -- especially when it's edible. Come the holidays, that happens more and more and it is grand (because it almost always means COOKIES). While most Christmas cookies are 100 percent awesome, they aren't all created equal. Some are better than others. And actually some, some are just downright bad. We ranked them in order from best to worst because, well, someone had to. If you're planning on doing any holiday baking, this list may be a helpful guide as to which cookies you should bake and which you need to steer clear of...

A federal district court Sunday granted a Texas doctor an injunction against Biden administration regulations that illegally restrict how doctors can protect patients from the harms of abortion and “gender transition” while a lawsuit proceeds. Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys filed suit on behalf of a Texas physician in October to challenge rule changes by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The changes to regulations under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act added unprecedented restrictions on doctors’ ability to report abuse and states’ ability to protect children from abortion and harmful drugs and surgeries related to gender confusion....

“The Golden Age of America Has Dawned” was President Trump’s message to some 20,000 patriots – conservative, pro-life, and deeply committed to God – who gathered in Phoenix from Thursday, December 19th through Sunday, December 22nd – for the Turning Point USA “America Fest.” It was a gathering that mingled the joy of the recent election victories with the joy of Christmas. The numerous speakers, along with President Trump, constituted a who’s who of conservative American politics. But more importantly, the attendees represented the heart of America – faith, family, freedom, hard work, and morality, including pro-life conviction. And that...

A Jewish host has been axed from a community radio station after covering up a Free Palestine sticker during her Latino music program. The former radio host took to social media platform X on Friday to explain why she was fired. Former radio volunteer Nicole has joined Sky News senior reporter Caroline Marcus to recount the story of her firing. "I still can't believe that it happened the way that it happened," Nicole said. "I am glad I made the video because now I have second guessed – can that even be what they told me is real because it's...

Horrific new photos show the gruesome scene inside a Brooklyn subway car where an illegal Guatemalan migrant allegedly set a sleeping woman on fire and then calmly watched her burn — later telling cops he had no memory of the savage killing. Surveillance images captured by MTA cameras in the F train car allegedly show Sebastian Zapeta-Calil standing in the mostly empty F train car, his hands in his hoodie pockets, as flames engulf the woman. The alleged victim, who was seated on the train at the time she was set ablaze, appeared to require a walker — the mobility...

Gen. 1:11-12,20-21,24,26-28: And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven....

For the first time, a multi-medical society panel has developed and endorsed a uniform lexicon for describing the observations seen on US during the first trimester of pregnancy. The lexicon addresses terms frequently used in first trimester US reports, such as ‘ectopic pregnancy,’ ‘heartbeat,’ ‘living’ and ‘viable.' The panel was convened by the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound (SRU). Other societies participating in the development of the lexicon included the Society of Abdominal Radiology, the American College of Radiology, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, the American...

People often joke that if they’d known becoming a grandparent was so much fun, they would have done it before having kids. Having grandchildren is widely considered one of life’s great joys, one which, historically, most adults experienced. Today, however, a growing number of people will never have this experience. Grandparents in America are becoming rarer. In 2014, 60% of people over 50 had at least one grandchild. By 2021, that had fallen to just over half. The historic decline in birth rates means that many who devoted their early lives to raising families will spend their later years watching...

While NASA is searching for life on Mars, a CIA document claims it was found 40 years ago. The report, 'Mars Exploration May 22, 1984,' details how the agency used astral projection—the idea that a person's spirit can travel through the astral plane—to transport a 'subject' to Mars approximately one million years BC. The study was part of Project Stargate, a secret US Army unit established in 1977 that focused on anomalous phenomena, including remote viewing, telepathy, and psychokinesis. Participants were exposed to sounds like binaural beats and hemi-sync audio to induce altered states of consciousness and promote psychic abilities....
