The big story this week is the how X (formerly Twitter) worked to dramatically change the American legislative process. As Chamath Palihapitiya said, "People are underestimating what happened here [The Continuing Resolution]. This was a multi hundred billion dollar grift that was stopped on a dime over 12 hours of tweets. You would have never thought this was possible. To put a dagger in something that big that had so much broad support just a few hours earlier is so consequential in how the United States can run going forward." But if you grasp the background for this feat --...

Joe Biden’s last-minute pardons have been positively scandalous — and the one for his son Hunter hasn’t even been the worst of them. Biden’s pardons are terrible in and of themselves, but taken together they illustrate a more important point. Pardons are for resolving individual cases one at a time; pardons aren’t for policymaking. First: Holy smokes, some of these pardons are bonkers, including Biden’s grant of clemency for the corrupt judge at the center of the “Kids for Cash” case, in which former Pennsylvania Judge Michael Conahan took bribes in exchange for wrongly sentencing children to time in for-profit...

“God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name . . . that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Philippians 2:9, 11). To receive Christ as Savior is to submit to His authority as Lord. Is Jesus Lord? According to the declaration of the Father, He is. We cannot know Him any other way than as Lord. That’s why the first creed in the history of the church, given in Philippians 2:11, says, “Jesus Christ is Lord.” Every Christian must acknowledge that. It is the foundation of the Christian faith, the...

Abortion increased 90% in the nation’s abortion capital of New York, one report shows. Outlawing abortion in pro-life states certainly reduces abortion incidences, but just in those states. Those restrictions do not appear to have the same effect nationwide. Like squeezing a balloon, abortion regulations push women out of pro-life states like Texas to abortion tourism destinations like New York or to illegally mail order dangerous chemical abortion pills. Historically, when it comes to abortion policy and trends, as goes New York, so goes the nation. 2023 is the first full year in a post-Roe America. According to a recent...
