When you’re a Russian retiree living on a limited income, it’s bad enough trying to contend with skyrocketing prices for staples like eggs, potatoes, or butter. Now add to the list of worries: a swooning ruble hitting lows not seen in years. “I see these prices, my eyes get wide,” said one retired history teacher who lives in St. Petersburg and tries to get by on a 19,100-ruble ($187) monthly pension. “What's going on? Prices are rising for absolutely everything.” “Polite words fail me, of course” the 72-year-old woman told RFE/RL’s Russian Service. She asked for her name not to...

The United States confirmed Tuesday it has granted $20 billion in funds for Ukraine backed by proceeds earned on frozen Russian assets. The cash is part of a $50 billion G7 support package and comes 40 days before President Joe Biden departs the White House. The loan funds come at a crucial juncture for Kyiv as President-elect Donald Trump has already indicated he wants an immediate settlement between the two combatants rather than helping fund a never ending war, as Breitbart News reported. Trump has increasingly questioned the level of financial support given to Ukraine following Russia’s 2022 invasion, saying...

TIME Magazine is considering Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Joe Rogan for its annual person of the year cover. But it is also considering Kamala Harris. If it was loser of the year then yeah, she’d be the sole contender. NBC News outlined the candidates “in no particular order” with Harris first on the list and Trump second to last. How could they not pick Trump as person of the year in 2024?

It would be a crime to abandon investigations into Russiagate, both because it's ongoing and because of the cost to those of us who were victims of it. Remnants. Thats what we are; that’s even what some of us call ourselves. Remainders. Leftovers. Residue. The stub of the cigar of the fake Russiagate scandal, left to smoke and shrink away in the overfull ashtray of national shame. We Russia hoax Remnants feel differently about President Donald Trump’s recent landslide victory, and our expectations are diverse. But we all, to some degree, have similar stories and hopes — not for retribution,...

Ukrainian long-range missiles have struck a major military centre inside Russia which is home to Vladimir Putin's 'Flying Kremlin' doomsday plane. The strikes hit Taganrog, a city of about a quarter of a million people in the Rostov region, causing ten loud explosions and bright flashes. Initial reports said there were two possible targets - the Beriev Aircraft Company, which maintains some of Putin's most important planes, and the Krasny Hydropress plant, which makes key missile elements and is part of Russia's Tactical Missile Weapons Corporation. Putin's Ilyushin Il-80 Maxdome plane - for use in nuclear war - is maintained...

Jon Stewart’s ‘Daily Show’ audience erupted into boos on Tuesday night when the suspect UnitedHealthcare shooter’s capture was mentioned during the host’s monologue. The Wrap notes most of Stewart’s opening monologue revolved around the fall of President Bashar al-Assad in Syria and the tyrant’s subsequent flight to Russia. “Eleven days? How did they manage to end a decade-long civil war and defeat the entire Syrian military in just 11 days?” Stewart pondered aloud. He then asked his cameraperson to zoom in on a photo of Syrian rebels celebrating their victory. Photoshopped in the background was the UnitedHealthcare shooter with Stewart...

Reuters is at it again with their team of ‘fact checkers’. They’re targeting The Babylon Bee, a satirical website, over an article that states the most favoured farewell in the UK, ‘cheerio mate’ has been replaced with ‘Allahu Akbar.’ The humorous satire piece states, “A recent poll conducted by the University of Oxford just revealed that ‘Allahu Akbar’ has officially replaced ‘Cheerio, mate!’ as the most popular greeting in the UK,” adding that experts called the results of the “survey” a “flippin’ landslide, old bean.” Kyle Mann, the Editor-in-Chief of the Babylon Bee, shared the lunacy on X, noting that...

“He picked up a piece of paper and said, I just got this down from upstairs, meaning the Secretary of Defense. He said this is a memo that describes how we’re going to take out seven countries in five years starting with Iraq, then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and finishing off with Iran.”

Who to consult for preliminary considerations? The guys at Costco? Or a licensed ENT? I seem to recall some specific hi-tech test for best results. Which type hearing aid is best? In the ear canal? Outside? Cons? Short battery life? Don't do the job? My situation is I like the tv louder than my wife; can't always hear her; miss dialogue in Bible class at church; etc. thanks

Someone should tell Politico's senior foreign affairs correspondent Nahal Toosi that Team America: World Police was meant to be a comedy, not an instructional film. Yet on Sunday Toosi was strategizing how to get President-elect Trump deep into the Syria mess that he wants to avoid. Her story in which she ditches any hint of attempting to be an objective reporter in favor of a flat out advocate for foreign interference by Trump is made crystal clear in the title of her more than obvious pitch piece, "How to Convince a Reluctant Trump to Get Involved in a Liberated Syria."

An OnlyFans porn star broke down in tears after sleeping with 100 men in a single day in order to gain social media clout. Actually 101. Lily Phillips thought that having sex with so many men would catapult her to viral fame, and it did briefly, but she’s now counting the cost. In a documentary made by YouTuber Josh Pieters titled I Slept With 100 Men in One Day, Pieters almost vomits at the sight of a bedroom littered with lube, used condoms, wrappers and tissues after Phillips had spent a nauseating 14 hours fornicating. “It’s not for the weak...

Put simply: Before anyone is pardoned for a crime or crimes, shouldn’t the crime(s) be disclosed to the American people? I understand that the power to pardon is enshrined in the Constitution, but where in the Constitution does it say that the crime that is pardoned shall remain undisclosed to the American people? The requirement that the crimes be disclosed before they are pardoned should be made law. There is nothing in the Constitution of which I am aware that prevents this requirement for transparency from being made law. Why would anyone oppose such a law? Constitutional scholars please put...

There is a great clanging and clamoring around the offices in Washington, D.C. and Mar-a-Lago in Florida. Political operatives, policy wonks, and opposition figures are all planning for the arrival of the second Donald Trump administration. I’ve spoken with many of the people in the president-elect’s orbit who are planning how to staff Cabinet departments and set a new tone on the administration’s first day. Much of our discussion has focused on the approach to DEI, or “diversity, equity, and inclusion.” While the officials in Trump world are all committed to abolishing DEI in theory, they have yet to settle...

From the start, the Select Committee on January 6 was rocked by problems, with perhaps no other member of that committee in as much trouble as now former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY). There's been chatter about criminal referrals for Cheney for months, especially since she is a former member of Congress, though it also came up once more earlier this week with President-elect Donald Trump weighing in during his "Meet the Press" interview with Kristen Welker. As was also mentioned, President Joe Biden is reportedly considering a preemptive pardon for Cheney and others. During tht interview, Trump reminded how involved...
