There is a general theme visible, one of a large scale, perhaps described as unity; perhaps described as healing; perhaps described as a new era in Americanism. The Trump Doctrine (which few really understand) in combination with the cabinet assembly, is a great indicator of what lies ahead. What President Ronald Reagan was to Generation X, President Donald Trump hopes to be for Generation Z; you can see it in everything he does. A transformative figure that changes the way the American people view and interact with government, with his own unique and modern twist on it. In essence, what...

Matt Eberflus offered the public remarks often made by head coaches on the hot seat in the wake of the Bears’ most recent loss. The franchise is nevertheless making an unprecedented in-season change on the sidelines. Eberflus has been fired. His tenure in Chicago comes to an end after two-plus years at the helm of the team. He compiled a 14-32 record along the way, and the latest contribution to the team’s current six-game losing streak has marked the end of his first NFL head coaching gig. The very idea of any prosecutor releasing a smear “report” on a defendant he was unable to convict, should be repugnant to any lawyer who believes in the integrity of our criminal justice system. Instead we have gloating trolls cheerleading such a disgusting abuse of process. ... Multiple accounts that Smith is preparing a report and that Garland will release it publicly, all before the inauguration.. ~Harry Litman ... Norm Eisen (Obama’s former “ethics” czar) has been running a color revolution on Trump since 2016/17. That includes the fake impeachments, character assassination, and lawfare. Everyone should know Norm’s name. He...

President-elect Donald Trump made the disco classic “Y.M.C.A.” a staple at his rallies during his past two campaigns. And new data shows that, much like Trump’s political fortunes, interest in the song is on the upswing. The 1978 hit by the Village People has had a busy month four decades later, with skyrocketing search interest on Google, a tripling of measured listenership on the song-tracking site last.fm and, finally, the topping of one Billboard sales chart for the first time.

Blue Oyster Cult's Buck Dharma reflected again on the immortal Saturday Night Live "More Cowbell" sketch that lampooned their hit song "(Don't Fear) The Reaper," saying the results were ultimately positive — even if it forced the band to take preventative measures in concert. The sketch, which aired on April 8, 2000, starred Will Ferrell as fictional band member Gene Frenkle and Christopher Walken as producer Bruce Dickinson. Ferrell, dressed in a ridiculously tight and low-cut shirt, plays the cowbell so aggressively while recording "Reaper" that he distracts and infuriates his bandmates. Walken, however, is obsessed with capturing more of...

CNN host Kasie Hunt was visibly stunned by incoming border czar Tom Homan’s recent statement that he’d jail one Democratic mayor who said he may not comply with the second Trump administration’s deportation plans. After playing a clip Wednesday morning of Homan saying he’s “willing to put” Democratic Denver Mayor Mike Johnston in jail for declaring he will not deport illegal immigrants living in his city — Johnston had said himself he was willing to be arrested for his defiant stance — Hunt looked visibly disturbed and described the rhetoric as “more extreme” than that on the Trump campaign trail.

The Bigfoot Discovery Museum in the Santa Cruz Mountains will close after 20 years as its owner retires. "It's going to be weird for me. Yeah. I'm so used to this, and I've been doing this for so, so long. To suddenly have it all go away, and everything is going to be strange," said owner Michael Ruggs. The iconic museum, located alongside Highway 9 in Felton, has embodied Santa Cruz's quirkiness for twenty years. As Ruggs retires, the museum will retire alongside him. "Well, anywhere from 30 to 70 people come in the door and, they'll check everything out,...

Former President Bill Clinton revealed he “couldn’t sleep for two years” and was prone to “outbursts of rage” after his wife Hillary Clinton lost to GOP rival Donald Trump in 2016, acknowledging in a memoir released earlier this month that he “wasn’t fit to be around.” “The whole thing is hard for me to write,” Clinton, wrote in “Citizen: My Life After The White House,” according to the Daily Mail. “I couldn’t sleep for two years after the election. I was so angry, I wasn’t fit to be around.”

The growth of classical education schools is astonishing. The numbers keep rising; there is no sign that the movement is beginning to plateau. Schools open, networks are created, charters are authorized, and kids fill the seats. One would think that as more spaces are available the (supposedly) small number of parents who favor the classical way would be satisfied and demand would diminish. How many Americans want their children to study Latin, read the Old and New Testaments, and appreciate the High Art of the Renaissance? Couldn’t be too many, say intellectuals and educators on the left. Those enlightened practitioners...

House Democrats are sounding early alarms that a second Trump administration will lead to a vast erosion of Palestinian rights and undermine efforts to bring peace to the volatile Middle East. The lawmakers fear President-elect Trump’s staunchly pro-Israel sensibilities — combined with his cozy relationship with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — could not only pave the way for Israel to annex the West Bank, but also dash any chance of a two-state approach that’s viewed widely in Washington as the only viable path to a lasting peace in the region.

Syrian armed rebels have entered Aleppo just three days into their surprise offensive, marking the first time they have set foot in the country’s second largest city since government forces recaptured the city in 2016. Rebel forces launched a surprise attack this week, sweeping through several villages outside the city and reigniting conflict that had been largely static for years. In a video geolocated by CNN, a rebel fighter films as he drives through the deserted streets on the western side of the city. He is heard praising God as the vehicle approaches the Zine El Abidine Mosque in western...

Minnesota city “likely disposed of” 21 missing ballots in a race that was decided for the Democrat incumbent by a margin of 14 votes, according to an investigation. The county attorney for Scott County, Minnesota, said that the city of Shakopee “likely” tossed 21 ballots without counting them. While it is currently unknown how those votes would have broken down, the state House race for seat 54A — which could have determined party control for the Republicans — has been called for the Democrat. The current makeup of the state House is a 67-67 tie. The investigation is ongoing. “The...

Georgia has been rocked by protests after its increasingly autocratic government said it would halt the former Soviet country’s bid to join the European Union. The ruling Georgian Dream party, which claimed victory in last month’s election that observers said was fraudulent, announced on Thursday that it would suspend accession talks with the EU until 2028. Its decision quickly sparked protests in the capital, Tbilisi, where demonstrators were heard chanting “Russian slaves” at police officers guarding the parliament building. The protests were eventually put down early morning Friday. Police fired water cannons and tear gas at protesters, while men wearing...
