Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe sparked a fierce backlash after making controversial remarks at a Trump rally in New York City, mocking Latino and Puerto Rican communities with statements that quickly spread on social media. (snip) Following the incident, Minnesota Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz, alongside Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, criticised Hinchcliffe's jokes during a livestream. Walz expressed frustration over the remarks, questioning the appropriateness of targeting U.S. territories and citizens. He highlighted Puerto Ricans' contributions to the U.S. military, and referenced Donald Trump's response to Hurricane Maria in 2017, a topic that has previously garnered criticism for insensitivity. Ocasio-Cortez echoed...

Shops around the White House were covered in plywood this morning as we are less than a week to the Presidential election. When there is a threat of civil unrest, these landlords cover their windows, much like you do when a hurricane is coming. enguinSix is an apolitical guy in a political town who likes to walk a lot. When does a government bureaucracy move quickly? When it's threatened by a whistleblower, among other things. IRS-CI Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley, one of the two whistleblowers in the Hunter Biden tax evasion case, had already experienced the speed with which his agency could move in retaliation, but was reminded of it once again when he received a "be demoted or resign" letter less than an hour after his latest interview with journalist Catherine Herridge dropped. Tristan Leavitt of Empowr Oversight, which represents Shapley and Ziegler, shared the letter, which was dated October 15 (emphasis added): Less than an hour...

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Former President Donald Trump received a full-throated endorsement from Puerto Rico’s Republican shadow senator on Tuesday as he distanced himself from the comedian who made a controversial joke about the island during his weekend event at Madison Square Garden. “I strongly and fully support and endorse Donald J. Trump to be our 47th president — to make America great again and, of course, to make Puerto Rico shine again,” Zoraida Buxó informed the former president’s supporters during a rally in Pennsylvania. Trump, 78, later brought Buxó back on stage during his remarks in the key swing state....

As Election Day approaches, the prediction market Polymarket has drawn attention with its $2.7 billion betting pool on the 2024 presidential race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. Currently, Polymarket’s odds show Trump with a 66% chance of victory. However, a recent analysis from blockchain experts suggests nearly one-third of this activity may be due to wash trading, casting doubt on the platform’s reliability as a predictive tool. Possible evidence of artificial trading on Polymarket Blockchain research firms Chaos Labs and Inca Digital, known for digital market security and data analysis, recently reported findings that question Polymarket’s reported $2.7 billion...

An election forecaster who previously predicted a landslide victory for Vice President Kamala Harris has switched his prediction to former President Donald Trump. Thomas Miller, a data scientist who accurately predicted the 2020 presidential election result, previously backed Harris to win in 2024, telling Newsweek in September that the Democrat was on track to win more than 400 votes in the Electoral College, according to his model. The model, which relies on betting odds as opposed to polling data aggregates, is now saying that Trump is the favorite, with its most recent prediction estimating the Republican could win 345 votes...

I cried from Canada when Hillary Clinton lost the election to Donald Trump in 2016. My boyfriend at the time seemed unable to relate to my visceral reaction, which only made my snotty-nosed despair worse. Oh, the misogyny of it all. Despite having dual citizenship, I had never lived in America, nor voted in an American election. That year was no exception, but Clinton was a shoo-in, I’d figured. “Who would vote for such a vile buffoon as Trump?” I thought. Apparently, many millions. Trump’s win that year shocked legions of progressives and feminists like myself, who trusted the media,...

The panel said there is no evidence that the works, which are held in the collection of Bremen Kunsthalle, were lost as a result of Nazi persecutionGermany’s advisory panel on Nazi-looted art has rejected a claim by the heirs of George Grosz for two of his paintings held in the collection of the Bremen Kunsthalle, saying there is no evidence to support the claimants’ view that they were lost as a result of persecution. The panel said there is no doubt that although Grosz was not Jewish, he “suffered individual persecution under the National Socialists due to his political...

More broadly, one network executive told features writer Charlotte Klein, "It's going to change everything" if Trump wins. The exec said it could signify the complete failure of the news industry. "If half the country has decided that Trump is qualified to be president, that means they're not reading any of this media, and we’ve lost this audience completely. A Trump victory means mainstream media is dead in its current form," they said.

NEW YORK, NY — The 2024 Major League Baseball season ended in historic fashion, as the New York Yankees successfully defeated the New York Yankees in the World Series. Despite their best efforts, the Yankees were unable to overcome the Yankees, opening the door for the Yankees to pull out a victory over the Yankees in Game 5 in the Bronx. "We were just too much for us tonight," Yankees manager Aaron Boone said following the loss. "We felt like we had a good game plan, we knew we were behind in the series and had an uphill battle, but...

More than half of American voters have voted early or plan to vote before Election Day, a new Gallup poll revealed Thursday. Out of 933 registered voters surveyed between October 14 and October 27, 20 percent said they had already voted, and another 34 percent said they are planning to do so before November 5, bringing the total to 54 percent. While the pollster found that the number of early voters is lower than what it was in 2020 — 64 percent — the rate is still higher compared to pre-coronavirus election years, before the popularity of voting by mail...

Down to the last few days before the election, CNN's Kasie Hunt has dropped any pretense of even-handedness, and has let her pro-Kamala flag fly. Three days ago, we caught Kasie saying that Trump-hater par excellence David Frum's attacks on Trump were "correct."Today, Hunt was clearly worried by Trump's entertaining, attention-attracting moves of working in a McDonald's and riding shotgun in a garbage truck. She insisted instead that voters focus on Trump's history of election denial and hints that he might do it again this year. Hunt insisted that the garbage truck/McD's events were: "Designed to get us to look...

Talk about Under Siege – at least as far as his clothes are concerned. Former action star Steven Seagal has ballooned to over 320lb since moving to Russia where he's now living large, stills from a newly unearthed documentary show. And the strain is telling on the 6ft 4in one-time star as he is filmed barely able to wrap his arms around his burgeoning belly. Seagal, 72, has done his best to control images of himself being released. Recent photos on his social media are from the chest up, and he has not posted himself on his Instagram since December...

There was a sad scene last night at the Biden White House. After sucking the toes of four babies, Joe Biden failed to grope and paw a pretty little girl in line for candy. Poor Joe. He looked so sad and dejected. He just doesn’t have that same old moxie of this youth. After years and years of groping women and children that was totally ignored by the fake news media, Groper Joe has lost his mojo. But don’t be too concerned, he made up for it by sucking the feet of several babies. This is our president. And this...

The York County Board of Elections provided an update Wednesday night on the review of a large batch of voter registration applications that was delivered last week. Here's a summary of their findings so far: The York County Board of Elections reported that out of 3,000 flagged voter registration applications, 47% were verified and approved. About 29% of the applications were incomplete and will not be approved until additional information is provided by the applicants. Radiohead singer Thom Yorke briefly walked off stage during his Australian solo tour after an exchange with an audience member who heckled him with a protest about deaths in Gaza. Videos posted online by concert-goers at the Melbourne show on Wednesday show a man in the crowd shouting at Yorke. While not all of his words can be heard, he calls on the singer to "condemn the Israeli genocide of Gaza". Yorke responds by telling the heckler to "hop up on stage" to make his remarks. "Don't stand there like a coward, come here and say it. You want to...

Ohio GOP Gov. Mike DeWine claimed that the economic progress made in Springfield would be lost if the thousands of Haitians currently living there were to leave. Springfield attracted widespread media attention following viral online claims about Haitian migrants allegedly eating pets, and many longtime residents saying the vast influx of migrants has caused strain to the city’s infrastructure. However, the Republican governor on Wednesday said the thousands of Haitians who’ve made Springfield home are essential for the city’s job sector. “I was asked the question several weeks ago: What would happen if all the Haitians were gone from Springfield?’...
