CV NEWS FEED // Multiple faith groups, 20 state lawyers, and legal scholars have backed New York Catholics in the Supreme Court case Diocese of Albany vs. Harris, a lawsuit over New York’s requirement that religious workers provide abortion coverage. The religious liberty legal institute Becket, which is representing the Diocese of Albany, published an article stating that multiple religious groups, including Hindus, Muslims, Jews, and Christians, asked the Supreme Court to block New York’s abortion mandate. The lawsuit began in 2017, when New York initially mandated that employers cover their employees’ abortions. The only exception was for religious employers...

Iran has been left powerless to export ballistic missiles to Russia for up to two years following Israeli airstrikes on weapons factories across the country. Over 100 aircraft, including F-35 Lightnings, F-16 Falcons, F-15 Eagles, air-to-air refuellers and drones, took part in the Israeli attacks in the early hours of Saturday morning. In particular, Israel appears to have targeted Iranian “planetary mixers”, used to make solid fuel for ballistic missiles. -snip- The exchange of weapons goes both ways and Iran had been reliant on Russian air defences to see off Israeli attacks. Iran purchased the S-300 air defence system from...

CV NEWS FEED // A new ad from CatholicVote released Monday shows Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris posing with a longtime member of the anti-Catholic “drag” troupe the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (SPI) at the San Francisco Pride parade in 2019. Numerous Catholic leaders have denounced the SPI, including Bishop Robert Barron, founder of the popular media outlet and publishing group Word on Fire. Barron describes the SPI as an “anti-Catholic hate group,” and once said of their public “hunky Jesus” performances: “For Catholics, it’s hard to imagine anything more offensive.” “Why is Kamala Harris posing with the founder of...

Last week Joe Rogan offered a three-hour podcast interview to both former President Donald Trump and Vice-President Kamala Harris. Trump accepted. Harris declined. Harris aide Ian Sams explained "the conditions just weren't right. First of all, three hours is way too long for someone as busy campaigning as she is. The thirty-minute sit down with Bret Baier put a big dent in her schedule. Our request that the Rogan interview be held to three minutes wasn't acceptable to him." "Second, he wouldn't accept the list of the questions we wanted him to ask nor allow us to use a teleprompter...

Nick Bosa took time after the final San Francisco 49ers game before the 2024 presidential election to flash a “Make America Great Again” hat on NBC’s postgame show, interrupting his teammates' interview to do so. Bosa was not one of the three players being interviewed by NBC sideline reporter Melissa Stark after the 49ers’ 30-24 win over the Cowboys. But right as Stark was beginning her questions, Bosa walked up behind quarterback Brock Purdy, running back Isaac Guerendo and tight end George Kittle while adjusting a hat on his head. Stark was in the middle of asking her first question...

As someone who came of voting age when Election Day was just that, not “election weeks” or even “election months,” I don’t support early voting. But since we have to play the hand we’re dealt, I went to cast my ballot on Oct. 19 at an early-voting site in Fairfax County, Virginia, wearing a pro-Trump T-shirt. I was stunned when, out of the blue, with no provocation other than the T-shirt, an older woman — obviously an unhinged liberal Democrat — blurted out “I hate you!” and “Burn in hell!” Never mind that she didn’t know me or anything about...

Police in two separate states are investigating after fires were set at ballot boxes with just eight days to go before Election Day in what appears to be serious cases of attempted election interference. In Portland, Oregon, police are investigating after a ballot box in Southeast Portland was lit on fire early Monday morning. Officials responded to the fire around 3:30am. By the time they arrived, the fire had already been put out by security employees working in the area. Meanwhile, flames and smoke were spotted early Monday morning coming out of a ballot box in Vancouver, Washington. In Portland,...

President Biden cast his early vote Monday with just over a week to go until Election Day, as his chosen successor and former rival appear to be deadlocked in a tight race for the White House. Mr. Biden cast his vote near Wilmington, Delaware, where he spent the weekend, before returning to the White House. "Let's go vote," Mr. Biden said as he headed to the polling place, where he greeted voters alongside Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, who is running to represent the state in the Senate. When asked after waiting in line to cast his ballot whether the moment...

Jews and other New Yorkers flocked to a rally for Donald Trump on Sunday at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan — a rally that the Kamala Harris campaign and other Democrats have falsely claimed is a “Nazi rally.” Huge crowds gathered for the rally at the popular Manhattan venue, home to the New York Knicks and, until recently, a Billy Joel residency that lasted several years. (Joel, notably, is Jewish, and once wore a yellow star on stage in 2017.) Jews were visible among those gathered — including Orthodox and Hasidic Jews, distinguished by their black hats: The venue has...

VIDEOThere is something called the "Goldwater Rule" which states that no psychiatrist should publicly analyze the mental health of public officials. This rule came about in response to a bunch of shrinks declaring that 1964 Republican candidate Barry Goldwater was mentally unbalanced during that campaign. There should also be a "Conway Rule" which states that any political ad featuring a bunch of psychologists declaring a Republican presidential candidate unbalanced should be utterly mocked because it is obviously the laughable smear tactic of TDS Psychopath George Conway using psychologists in order to skirt the Goldwater Rule limiting public analysis by psychiatrists....

Walmart employees have voiced confusion over the tragic death of a 19-year-old staff member inside a walk-in oven because they generally 'can't close' on their own. In a series of TikTok videos, staff and former employees have been sharing insights into the inner mechanics of working inside a Walmart bakery. It comes on the back of Gursimran Kaur's tragic death last weekend. The 19-year-old girl became stuck inside the walk-in oven of the store she worked at in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her own mother, who also worked at the store, found her 'charred remains' inside after more than an hour...

In the weeks and months before Louisiana's Constitutional Carry law took effect on July 4th, critics proclaimed the new law would wreak havoc on the state; particularly in New Orleans, where officials tried to turn most of the French Quarter and downtown business district into a semi-gun-free zone where concealed carry licenses would still be required for folks to lawfully carry. Those plans haven't panned out, and for now, visitors and residents are still free to carry a concealed firearm without a state-issued permit, so long as they're legally allowed to own one. So has the new law led to...

A male cross-dressing child sexual predator is on the run from police in Oregon after managing to dodge authorities in neighboring Idaho. Christian Bert Fischer, 42, is wanted in Florida after he allegedly traveled to meet a child he had met online and convinced them to meet up with him. Jackson County Sheriff's Office in Oregon detailed how they believed Fischer, who has ties to Southern Oregon, is dressed as a woman and is now on the run after evading capture by the police in Coeur D'alene, Idaho, last week. A few months after the temporary stewards of San Francisco’s struggling downtown mall attempted to rename the place, the San Francisco Centre is again the San Francisco Centre this week, they announced. It’s been just over a year since the mall’s previous owners, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield and Brookfield Properties, defaulted on a $558 million loan and chose to abandon the 800,000 square foot property. Now, it’s headed to a public auction on the steps of the Memorial Court on Van Ness Avenue on Nov. 14.
