The presidential election is heating up as both nominating conventions have concluded. As we approach the home stretch of the election season, it's important to take a closer look at the opinion polls. Where are the opinion polls now and what if anything can be inferred? It's essential to remember that polls are a snapshot in time. They survey a small group of individuals and then extrapolate those results to the entire population, in this case, actual voters. The surveyed sample is crucial, as oversampling Republicans, Democrats, or Independents can skew the results. While statistical weighting can help even out...

Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii) slammed former Vice President Dick Cheney (R) and his daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) for endorsing Vice President Harris, arguing a vote for Harris is the same as voting for Dick Cheney and his foreign policy. “I have a very simple message for my Democrat friends, my independent friends, those who may not be sure about who they’re voting for in this election, Dick Cheney has just made the choice very clear, a vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for Dick Cheney, the architect of everything that has gone wrong in the Middle...

Plenty of virtuous places (New York, California, UK, Australia) want to compete for the mantle of “climate leader.” But let’s face it, at least among places with significant population, nobody can top Germany. In Germany, they got started on a massive build-out of wind and solar electricity generation way back in the early 1990s. By year-end 2023, they had total wind and solar nameplate electricity generation capacity of 148 GW, which is about 2.5 times average demand (of about 60 GW) and about 1.5 times peak demand (of about 100 GW). So surely, the days of fossil fuels in Germany...

During the process, its locations and website will remain open for shopping. “The actions we are taking today will enable us to move forward with new owners who believe in our business and provide financial stability, while we optimize our operational footprint, accelerate improvement in our performance, and deliver on our promise...

Mayor Eric Adams compared himself to the Bible’s long-suffering Job and asked a local bishop to “pray for me” when at two Brooklyn churches Sunday — days after the feds targeted some of his top lieutenants. Adams hit the Power and Authority Evangelical Ministry on Sheffield Avenue and then the Changing Lives Christian Center on Linden Boulevard and spoke at both houses of worship about the Book of Job, calling it “my favorite story.” “I had many Job moments in my life,” Hizzoner said at the Power and Authority Church, giving a nod to the famously persecuted Biblical character and...

After entering 2024 in a sorry state, Ukraine has notched up a series of notable achievements since the start of the year, giving fresh impetus to its fight back against Russia. ... Western allies have let it use some of the missile systems they've supplied to hit targets inside Russia, with notable caveats, giving it a better chance to defend itself against incoming Russian attacks. And it also regained the initiative with its surprise incursion into the Russian region of Kursk in August, even while gradually losing ground in eastern Ukraine. "What Ukraine has done in the past month, starting...

The new package will include ammunition for infantry fighting vehicles already donated by Sweden, as well as purchases that would facilitate a transfer of Gripen fighter jets in the future, though no such transfer has been decided on yet. "We want to have the ability to donate Gripens to Ukraine at a possible later stage," Jonson told a press conference. Jonson said support included additional combat boats, missiles and camouflage gear as well...

From Solingen to Moscow to Hartlepool, jihadist attacks risk becoming the new normal. Islamist terror has returned to Europe. But in truth, it never really went away. On 23 August, the German city of Solingen was the scene of an all too familiar and barbaric crime. Issa Al H, a suspected member of Islamic State, slashed at the necks of people in a crowd, as they gathered to celebrate the city’s 650th anniversary. He killed three people and injured eight more. Islamic State swiftly took responsibility, calling this murderer a ‘soldier’, and hailing the attack as an act of ‘revenge...

All Americans should see the outstanding movie Reagan, playing in theaters nationwide. It depicts the life of one of America’s greatest Presidents, Ronald Reagan. The movie has grossed $18.5 million over two weekends, ranking #3 among all movies at the box office. These impressive results were “better than expected,” but no thanks to the insufferable movie reviewers who hated the film. Conversely, audiences loved the movie, giving it an astounding 98% positive reviews. As conservative commentator Megyn Kelly noted, the American moviegoers refused to “listen” to the elitist “left-wing critics” who tried to “kill” the movie.

A Colorado state trooper was shot and wounded in a senseless, “targeted” attack while parked on the side of a highway Saturday and still managed to kill the suspect in a shootout, authorities said. Cpl. Tye Simcox encountered “evil” when the gunman randomly began firing on the 16-year state law enforcement vet as he slowly drove by the officer’s patrol car parked in the median of Highway 36 in the Denver suburb of Westminster. The gunman continued his brazen shooting with a semi-automatic handgun after he pulled his Chevrolet pickup truck over to the left side of the highway and...

Everyone in Maryland knows who Larry Hogan is, and most people like him. Hogan can’t win the election by winning independents. He is winning them, the “path to victory, goes through the Democratic Party. He cannot win without anywhere between 25 to 30 percent of Democrats.”

The following is an excerpt from RealClearPublishing's new book by Joseph B. Sweeney, "Dangerous Injustice: How Democrats Weaponized the DOJ to Protect Biden and Persecute Trump." Examples of the Democratic Party’s corruption of the American justice system for political means can be traced back to at least former President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Continuing and escalating throughout Trump’s presidency, and after, the aggressive weaponization of federal law enforcement against Trump reached the unimaginable when on August 8, 2022, thirty Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents, armed and authorized to use deadly force, raided the home of the former president...

Concerns over the Biden-Harris border crisis have surged amid a wave of horrific news stories of crimes conducted by suspected illegal immigrants, and a new poll shows that Americans blame “border czar” Vice President Kamala Harris. In the survey for the National Sheriffs’ Association provided to Secrets, just 29% approved of the job Harris has done to fix the “root causes” of illegal immigration, with 49% grading her a “D” or “F.” And support for a border wall, started during the Trump administration, has grown to 65%. Surprisingly, 50% of Democrats want the border wall completed or expanded. ... The...

Nearly ten thousand millionaires are predicted to flee the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom this year amid expected tax raids from the left-wing Labour Party government of Sir Keir Starmer. While the previous Tory government of Rishi Sunak ushered in the highest tax burden since the Second World War, in large part to pay for the debts accrued during the coronavirus lockdowns, it is widely predicted that the fall budget of the Labour government will see further money grabs by the British state, with likely targets including capital gains and inheritance taxes. According to a report from The Times of...

~~The Democrat convention featured a full set of the party's presidents, save for Jimmy Carter, who turns one hundred next month. But, otherwise, there were present not only both Obamas but both Clintons, and even both Bidens, even though almost every one in that sextet loathes the other five, and certainly all six despise Kamala. But they're Democrats first, so they suck it up. How's it going over on the Republican side? Well, former president George W Bush has announced he won't be endorsing anyone in this election. On the other hand, over two hundred Bush, McCain and Romney staffers...

The public inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Letby's crimes, which was set up by the government last year following her conviction, will begin hearings at Liverpool Town Hall on Tuesday. But the inquiry will not address the question - a growing one in the minds of many - of Letby's guilt. The former neonatal nurse was sentenced to life imprisonment last year for murdering seven babies and attempting to murder six more at the Countess of Chester Hospital between the summers of 2015 and 2016. At a recent retrial she was convicted of attempting to murder another baby. It confirmed...
