Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly struggling to prepare to debate former President Donald Trump on Tuesday due to an overwhelming amount of policy details. Harris, who is now the Democrat nominee without receiving one primary vote, is conducting debate prep to avoid being shellacked again after the 2020 cycle when then-Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard held Harris accountable for her radical left record. To void a second catastrophe, the Harris campaign is trying to knock off the vice president’s “rust as a debater and her tendency to overprepare and fixate on the details,” nearly a dozen people involved with or...

[Catholic Caucus] Data and the Traditional Latin MassSome of the preliminary results suggest the TLM community, while drawn to a different aesthetic than the typical parish experience, holds onto the beliefs of the Catholic faith more consistently than the wider population of Catholics.Recently rumors have been flying that Pope Francis is preparing to impose stringent restrictions on the Traditional Latin Mass. Of course, unfounded rumors out of the Vatican are not new, and some journalists have not been able to identify anybody who has actually seen the document in question.Still, even if it ends up being in the class of...

Hunter Biden is pleading guilty to at least some of the nine tax charges against him, in a stunning last-minute reversal at his criminal trial in Los Angeles. The change was not due to a plea deal, with prosecutor Leo Wise telling Judge Mark Scarsi on Thursday: 'this is the first we're hearing of this'. The stunning revelation was made by Hunter's attorney Abbe Lowell in front of the judge, while 120 potential jurors waited next door to be selected for his trial. Lowell cited legal cases and precedents suggesting that by pleading guilty, the judge would have to decide...

Hunter Biden will accept a guilty verdict in his tax evasion case in California, his lawyer Abbe Lowell said Thursday, as jury selection was about to begin. Lowell said the president's son would submit what's known as an Alford plea, meaning he would accept a guilty verdict while maintaining his innocence. Court is in recess until 2 p.m. ET while the government reviews the law on this issue. Prosecutors said this is the first they're hearing of Biden's plea. Biden is charged with failing to pay at least $1.4 million in federal taxes while living an "extravagant lifestyle." In December,...

About 25 years ago, I had the privilege to sit down to interview the late George Gallup, Jr., the esteemed pollster whose father founded Gallup Polls. One of the things Gallup, Jr. said that I’ve never forgotten was his response to my question: Is America pro-abortion rights or pro-life? He said 20% of Americans are strongly pro-choice. 20% are strongly pro-life. And the other 60% are in the “mushy middle,” and they can go either way depending upon what you ask and how you ask. I imagine that is still roughly the case.

Donald Trump is outlining his economic platform during a speech in New York City on Thursday. The former president's policies will include billionaire Elon Musk's recommendation to create a government efficiency commission to conduct 'a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government.' The remarks are meant to more specifically detail Trump's plans for the future of the economy as the issue is often cited by voters as their No. 1 issue this election cycle. And Trump holds an advantage over Vice President Kamala Harris among voters who think he would better handle the economy and inflation crisis....

Every day, more information comes out arguing against the government narrative that a “lone wolf” attack lies behind the assassination attempt against President Donald Trump. The Biden Administration’s feeble attempts through surrogates to deflect and deny have become standard and boring. The variations are endless but the content is the same: ∙ “I can’t comment at this time until we have more information.” ∙ “I can’t comment at this time until all the reports are in.” ∙ “I will have to get back to you on that.” ∙ “I can’t comment on an ongoing investigation.” Shortly after the shooting, a...

Private sector payrolls grew at the weakest pace in more than 3½ years in August, providing yet another sign of a deteriorating labor market, according to ADP. Companies hired just 99,000 workers for the month, less than the downwardly revised 111,000 in July and below the Dow Jones consensus forecast for 140,000. August was the weakest month for job growth since January 2021, according to data from the payrolls processing firm. “The job market’s downward drift brought us to slower-than-normal hiring after two years of outsized growth,” ADP’s chief economist, Nela Richardson, said.

America can no longer ignore the consequences of its failed experiment with sanctuary cities and unchecked illegal immigration. The problem has metastasized beyond our southern border and now threatens communities throughout the nation... The latest outrage is happening because of the loud-and-proud sanctuary city of Denver, Colorado, where foreign gangs have found sanctuary alongside the illegal immigrants. Mayor Michael Johnston, the third-worst sanctuary mayor in America, has championed an effort to fund myriad programs for illegal aliens at the expense of police, public parks, and Department of Motor Vehicles budgets, among other legitimate concerns of citizens. As a result, nearly...

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The annual leadership meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition kicked off Wednesday amid speculation that more Jews could vote for former President Donald Trump over concerns about Israel and antisemitism. The gathering, which typically draws hundreds of donors and activists, as well as politicians and candidates, is being held in September this year, rather than in the winter, to have the biggest possible impact at the start of the fall campaign season. American Jews vote overwhelmingly for the Democratic Party, and align themselves with the political left. (Jews in other countries, including Israel, tend to favor...

A team of researchers from Sweden and Spain have conducted a comprehensive archaeogenetic study on a community that lived on the border between the northern Christian kingdoms and Al-Andalus during the early Medieval period. This dynamic era, especially in the Iberian Peninsula, was marked by religious competition, power struggles, and significant human mobility—factors that shaped the foundation of modern Europe. In the study, published in the journal Science Advances, the researchers focused on Las Gobas, a rural site in northern Spain's Burgos province, near the village of Laño. The community existed from the mid-6th to the 11th century and is notable...

Sears’s paperwork was accepted by Virginia’s Department of Elections on Wednesday, according to Nexstar’s Richmond affiliate WRIC. The Hill is owned by Nexstar Media Group. The development comes after Sears’s team said on Wednesday she would be making a “special announcement” in Virginia Beach on Thursday. Sears is the first Republican to jump into the off-year race that will likely dominate campaign news next year. Late last year, Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.) launched her own campaign for the governor’s mansion. The...

A rattled Vladimir Putin has admitted that Russia is ready for peace talks with Kyiv as Ukraine continues its blistering offensive in Kursk. The Russian despot said at the 2024 Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok today: 'Are we ready to negotiate with them? 'We have never refused to do so, but not on the basis of some ephemeral demands, but on the basis of those documents that were agreed and actually initialled in Istanbul,' referring to a failed peace deal from talks in the Turkish city early on in the war. Although the Kremlin says these conditions for peace talks...
