Is America Pro-Abortion?

About 25 years ago, I had the privilege to sit down to interview the late George Gallup, Jr., the esteemed pollster whose father founded Gallup Polls.

One of the things Gallup, Jr. said that I’ve never forgotten was his response to my question: Is America pro-abortion rights or pro-life?

He said 20% of Americans are strongly pro-choice. 20% are strongly pro-life. And the other 60% are in the “mushy middle,” and they can go either way depending upon what you ask and how you ask. I imagine that is still roughly the case.

The baby killing propaganda machine is as good as the Palestinian propaganda machine. If you were asked if killing is wrong, of course the reaction would be overwhelming. Ask people if it’s essential to protect the “RIGHTS” of a group of people,the answers are not as clear. Babies and Jews are expendable. We have more abortion now post “Roe”.

I may get flamed for saying it - but 60% of FReepers are in the "mushy middle" as they support abortion via States Rights.

No. America is not pro abortion. It is not in our constitution therefore we as a country are no longer under liberal thinking that we are pro abortion

We have re established our freedom on this

Freedom takes eternal vigilance

Are the majority of Americans pro abortion?

Maybe. Maybe not. There’s dishonesty all around

But that is a mob rule, democrat, emotional, go with the flow aspect

It does not matter in a republic.

So no. The constitution has been fixed. As a country we are not responsible for the killing of these innocents

I think those percentages are outdated, but the real metric is who has the power. Clearly it is the pro-death cult.

All the laws and media propaganda are strongly in favor of preserving abortion. You can’t even pray silently on a public sidewalk near a children’s butcher mill without risking arrest!

They vandalize churches (janes revenge), threaten judges and intimidate politicians with impunity.

The abortion truck outside the dem convention in chicago was the absolute most brazen thing ever imagined. No one even talks about it now - that’s how accepting people have gotten on the issue.

Finally, if a woman wants to kill her child, no one - even the father of the baby - can stop her legally. In fact taking measures to stop her can land you in court or in jail.

Sad state of affairs in these United States.

Well, many on Free Republic oppose abortion with the rape and incest and life of the mother exceptions.

Others on Free Republic tske the position that abortion should not happen even in those cases.

And regarding legalities, many point out that abortion is now a state by state issue. Those Freepers often say they are pro life, but that a national abortion ban at the federal level will never happen so we shouldn’t pursue that. And also how such a position hurts us politically.

It depends what aspects of abortion people are talking about.

It is, and many wrongly agree that is the correct position to take. Up to the States to decide.

However the 14th Amendment is still applicable:

No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Democrats in support of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz sacrificed 25-30 Children to their ‘god’ Moloch during the DNC Convention in Chicago. My question would be what is the number of actual voters in support of these evil people and how is it that if they do not support abortion that so many can turn a blind eye to the absolute reality of these wicked activities.

For President Trump to overcome the power and workings of Satan accomplished at this level of dedication and authority and being done using his tool Obama, this kind of authority being granted to them will require believers to pray and fast for this kind of evil to be rebuked. It can be rebuked by believers.

By that interpretation murder is a federal crime and not a state crime. Do you really want that?

The goal for conservatives should be to push more “governing” down to the state level. The recent abortion ruling does that.

Do you really want to continue the “statist” march toward all governing done at the federal level? States devolve to just historic boundary lines on a map.

There are at least 7 instances where murder IS a federal crime. Currently abortion is not. Except when the murder crosses state lines. Which so many do when the murderer crosses over to a pro abort state to murder their baby.

Anyway - back to the 14th - The US Attorney General and the Justice Department have the federal right to pursue any State in violation of that Amendment. Any state that deprives a person of life.

I’d easily bet that 90-95% of all babies that are concieved are murdered by some form of intervention labeled: “birth control”, not to mention forms considered: “abortion”.

The Federal government has a duty to protect the fundamental right to life in any event that a state should fail to do so. Just like the abolition of slavery.

No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
