Looks like Hezbollah has a security leak. Apparently just minutes before the Iranian proxy terror army in Lebanon would have launched a massive retaliatory attack on Israel, the IDF destroyed thousands of its launchers and missiles in a pre-emptive strike. Hezbollah attacked anyway, but ended up doing very little damage. And later, Hezbollah suggested that they had finished their revenge for the strike on Fuad Shukr three weeks ago:Israeli warplanes bombarded dozens of targets in southern Lebanon on Sunday to stop what Israel said were preparations for a major attack by Hezbollah, which later said it had fired hundreds of...

WASHINGTON, Aug 23 (Reuters) - SpaceX's attempt at the first ever private spacewalk next week will be a test of trailblazing equipment, including slim spacesuits and a cabin with no airlock, in one of the riskiest missions yet for Elon Musk's space company. A billionaire entrepreneur, a retired military fighter pilot and two SpaceX employees are poised to launch on Tuesday aboard a modified Crew Dragon craft, before embarking on a 20-minute spacewalk 434 miles (700 km) into space two days later.... Far outside the protective bubble of Earth's atmosphere, the electronics and shielding on Crew Dragon and spacesuits will...

One day in the not too distant future, someone in the Middle East is going to push things too far, and it will set off a tsunami of destruction that will shock the entire planet. Israel is armed to the teeth, and Israel’s enemies are armed to the teeth. An all-out war in the Middle East should not be an option for anyone, but we are now dangerously close to such a conflict. Very early on Sunday morning, Hezbollah was preparing to fire an enormous number of rockets at targets deep inside Israel in response to the assassination of Fouad...

Earlier today I created a post entitled "When Evil takes over (Is rural living safer?)." The link is below. When Evil takes over (Is rural living safer?) It got a lot of comments, and I am very appreciative of that as it generated a lot of conversation. It also struck a cord with me. As many of you know I am retired, forcibly so because of Covid/Long Covid. I have been searching for someplace to retire to, locally, with not much success. Housing prices are through the roof whether you're buying or renting, and of course everything else suffers from...

Amid this week's Democratic National Convention (DNC), California Governor Gavin Newsom joked that Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, was picked in a "30-minute convention." Harris has swiftly established herself as the Democrats' nominee shortly after President Joe Biden announced he was dropping out of the race on July 21, giving her his endorsement. Biden decisively won the Democratic primary contest, but pulled out after coming under intense pressure from within his own party, amidst increased concern over the 81-year-old's age and mental agility. The continued support around Harris led her to accept the party's official nomination on...

California government officials and Big Tech are nearing an agreement to jointly provide at least $242.5 million in funding for journalism, including local and ethnic outlets. The agreement, first reported on by KCRA, would put an end to bills that would require tech companies to pay newsrooms a portion of their search and display revenue. Under the California Journalism Preservation Act, which this agreement would stop from advancing, social media companies and search engines would be required to pay a share of their advertising revenue to news organizations based on how much organizations’ content shows up in social media feeds...

The entire goal of the environmental Left is full-on communism. They wrap their ideology in a green cloak, but inside it's Soviet red. And like all good commies, they want a society with two classes: the elites (themselves) and the rest of us. For the elites, life is great. They have money, and food, and nice houses. They travel and enjoy comforts like air conditioning, gas stoves, and refrigeration. For the rest of us? Sweat it out in a dumpy, rundown state-owned apartment while you eat bugs and live in abject poverty. They've said their goal is to reduce our...

"If my dear friend Donald Trump ever decided to sacrifice his fabulous billionaire lifestyle to become President he would be an unstoppable force for ultimate justice that Democrats and Republicans alike would celebrate" John F Kennedy Jr. [George Magazine, June, 1999]

Below is my column in the New York Post on the withdrawal of Robert Kennedy, Jr. from the presidential race and his endorsement of President Donald Trump. Kennedy’s speech resonated with many long-time Democrats who have found themselves estranged from the party. While Kennedy remains an independent, it is a cautionary tale that is being missed in the “joy” theme of the Democrat National Convention. The fact is that new Republicans are often not the product of ideology and association but anxiety and exclusion. Democrats make Republicans. Here is the column: The withdrawal of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. from the...

NEW YORK -- A historic class action lawsuit filed by a same-sex couple this week demands New York City's health plan cover the costly IVF treatments needed for them to become biological parents. Attorneys representing Corey Briskin and Nicholas Maggipinto say when Briskin was employed as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan in 2021, he was denied the same IVF benefits that the city offers female city employees and male city employees who have female partners. Briskin and Maggipinto say they have been wanting to have biological children for years. They already have a surrogate but each cycle of in-vitro...

Come on, surely you've been arrested over a plate of pasta, right? No? Well, pull up a chair — I've got a weird one for ya! Let's talk about 21-year-old Nakhia Davis. Davis and her sister live in Florida (yes, another wild Florida story). Her sister ordered herself a nice ravioli meal, having it delivered to their house. Davis, as the story goes, was quite upset to learn that her sister wouldn't be sharing her delicious pasta. So, as a normal person does, Davis threw a plate of ravioli at her sister. The arrest report for this incident made me...

Ukraine has accused Belarus of 'concentrating' troops on the countries' shared border and warned its military against carrying out 'unfriendly actions'. Ukrainian intelligence recorded Belarus 'concentrating a significant number of personnel.... in the Gomel region near Ukraine's northern border under the guise of exercises', Kyiv's foreign ministry said in a statement today. Belarus had allowed Russian troops to use its territory as a launchpad for their February 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Kyiv has now warned Vladimir Putin-allied Belarus 'not to make tragic mistakes for their country under Moscow's pressure, and we urge its armed forces to cease unfriendly actions'. The...

I am standing on the floor of an arena in Chicago, waiting for Kamala Harris. It’s been nearly three hours. There are thousands of us squished together, toppling over, jostling, hot, uncomfortable, straining under the lights. Everywhere I look, there are people holding tall “Kamala” signs, shouting, screaming, panting, roaring. Music is pounding. It was like this last night, and the night before, and the night before that: a 96-hour psycho war dance. To get an idea of what has been achieved at this year’s Democratic National Convention — how a party purges itself of one candidate and installs another...

Denver’s decision to welcome migrants with open arms is bringing bloodshed to the suburbs next door. A notorious Venezuelan prison gang has set up shop in Aurora, Colorado — even though the town wanted no part of the influx of asylum seekers in the first place. Aurora — a quiet bedroom community with a population of 390,000 directly east of the Mile-High City — has become a base of operations for the brutal Tren de Aragua gang, which has seized multiple apartment complexes and set off a wave of violent crime. Denver leads the nation in new migrant arrivals per-capita,...

The FBI said Saturday it is helping Mexican authorities investigate the fatal shooting of two Arizona women in the Mexican state of Sonora. The Attorney General’s Office of Sonora said both victims, ages 72 and 82, were found shot dead inside an overturned pickup truck Friday morning on the Sonoyta-Caborca highway. Officials said an abandoned Ford F-150 pickup truck in the town of Quitovac was connected to the shooting after authorities discovered a stash of AK-47-style rifles, loads of ammo and ballistic vests inside the vehicle.
