After years of encouraging shoppers to scan their own groceries, some supermarkets are checking out a move back to traditional tills. Asda said it would put more staff on checkouts, while Morrisons admitted it might have "gone too far" with self-scan. Northern upmarket chain Booths has got rid of them altogether. The dreaded "unexpected item in the bagging area" announcement is among a list of customer complaints about self-service tills. But some shoppers told the BBC they're happy to skip the queues and the chit chat if it speeds up their shop. The debate over staffed versus unstaffed tills has...

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. officially endorsed Donald Trump for President and joined Trump at a rally in Glendale, where he was given a thunderous and enthusiastic welcome. While many in the MAGA movement were thrilled with the endorsement and his pledge to help President Trump fight the Deep State, some members of his family publically issued a cruel statement criticizing his decision. The statement, signed by Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, Courtney Kennedy, Rory Kennedy, Chris Kennedy, and Kerry Kennedy, read: “We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future, a future defined...

Belarus' Armed Forces are "concentrating a significant number of personnel" as well as weaponry along Ukraine's northern border with Belarus "under the guise of exercises," Ukraine's Foreign Ministry warned on Aug. 25, citing information gathered by the country's intelligence sources. Minsk is concentrating Special Operation Forces, as well as weaponry, including tanks, artillery, multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS), air defense systems, and engineering equipment near the Belarussian city of Gomel, a statement released by the Foreign Ministry said. The city lies within about 30 kilometers of the Belarus-Ukraine border.

X owner Elon Musk’s plan to move the social media platform’s headquarters out of San Francisco has some city officials eager to bid farewell to the billionaire’s business. The outlet noted that San Francisco Mayor London Breed said she had met with Musk “several months ago” but that she didn’t extend offers aimed at keeping X in the city, saying, “I’m not going to beg anybody.” The report comes after Musk announced last month that he will move the company’s headquarters to Texas in response to a new law enacted by the state of California that prohibits schools from notifying...

One month following the near-assassination of President Trump, elected Democrats still seem to have a fascination with violent words. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” with host Jake Tapper. He boasted that Democrats could finally “kill the MAGA Strain” of the Republican Party by voting to elect Kamala Harris in November. “What I know this election can do is finally kill that (MAGA) strain of the Republican Party,” Booker told Tapper. The host did not attempt to push back on Booker’s comment.

Eisenhower in his farewell address in 1961, refers to the synergistic relationship between a nation's armed forces, its defence industry, and its political establishment. This complex has played a pivotal role in shaping U.S. foreign policy and military strategy, leading to extensive global influence and numerous conflicts over the past century. While wars undoubtedly bring immense destruction and suffering, they have also generated substantial profits for...

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.), the sole Democrat who dared to challenge President Biden during the tumultuous 2024 Democratic primary, has expressed a willingness to serve in either a Democrat or Republican administration. Earlier this year, The Gateway Pundit reported that Phillips told the story of how he recently went to his first Trump rally. He was amazed at how friendly and diverse the crowd was. “I’ve got to tell you guys; I went to a Donald Trump rally a couple of nights ago. Never been to one. I had an event across the street. Explanation: Do underground oceans vent through canyons on Saturn's moon Enceladus? Long features dubbed tiger stripes are known to be spewing ice from the moon's icy interior into space, creating a cloud of fine ice particles over the moon's South Pole and creating Saturn's mysterious E-ring. Evidence for this has come from the robot Cassini spacecraft that orbited Saturn from 2004 to 2017. Pictured here, a high resolution image of Enceladus is shown from a close flyby. The unusual surface features dubbed tiger stripes are visible in false-color blue. Why Enceladus is active remains a mystery, as the neighboring moon...

Multiple Democrat lawmakers are quietly telling allies worried about Vice President Kamala Harris’s controversial grocery price-control plan that the proposal will die in Congress, Politico revealed. After economists pushed back on Harris’s “Soviet-style” plan to centrally administer price controls on food in her first policy-focused speech on August 16, one anonymous Democrat told the outlet that it was a “lofty goal.” “I honestly still don’t know how this would work,” a second lawmaker said.

First, the transfer of power happens on January 20 not January 6. (And DOJ let off the hook hundreds of 2017 inaugural rioters.) Second, there is no law guaranteeing the "peaceful transfer of power." Which is why the Constitution provides several weeks between election day and inauguration day with both a state and congressional certification process and opportunities to contest the results. Third, as he brags about the nearly 1,500 J6ers arrested and charged so far for January 6--including at least seven last week during the DNC--most face misdemeanors.

Homeland Security’s citizenship agency has put out a call for volunteers who can help process applications for a fraud-plagued program that allows unauthorized migrants from some Latin American nations to skip the border and fly directly into the U.S. The program has welcomed more than half a million migrants who lack a legal visa to enter the U.S. It was abruptly paused several weeks ago after an internal review found massive fraud, but the call for volunteers suggests U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is looking for a quick restart. In the email call for volunteers Donna Campagnolo, USCIS’s chief human...

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that the United States has a “crisis at the border” that needed to be addressed by immigration reform. Host Jonathan Karl said, “On immigration, when Harris ran for the Democratic nomination against you and others in 2020, she said she favored decriminalizing illegal border crossing. She even suggested she would be in favor of abolishing ICE. Now, of course, she’s taking, at least rhetorically, a much tougher line on border security.”
