Good afternoon Freepers. This is a post to ask what I hope is a simple question. What do you all recommend for use as a web browser? The reason I ask this question is because today I was trying to update my Mozilla-ish browser called Palemoon. It's actually a Goanna fork of Mozilla so it's not really based on their programming code anymore, that I'm aware of. In the process of my task, I noticed that it wasn't playing well with a few secure websites, like ID.me, myPay, etc. I use Brave as my primary browser, and I also have...

On Tuesday’s broadcast of “CNN News Central,” New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) stated that 2024 Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris avoiding interviews so far hasn’t been a problem because “she’s brought joy back into the whole arena of politics. There will be plenty of time to do interviews.” Co-host Kate Bolduan asked, “Elon Musk wrapped this conversation with Donald Trump, saying this, in part, that he thinks the country is at a fork in the road of destiny of civilization and I think we need to take the right path, and I think you’re the right path,...

Explanation: What's that on the horizon? When circling the Earth on the International Space Station early last month, astronaut Matthew Dominick saw an unusual type of lightning just beyond the Earth's edge: a gigantic jet. The powerful jet appears on the left of the featured image in red and blue. Giant jet lightning has only been known about for the past 23 years. The atmospheric jets are associated with thunderstorms and extend upwards towards Earth's ionosphere. The lower part of the frame shows the Earth at night, with Earth's thin atmosphere tinted green from airglow. City lights are visible, sometimes...

The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) condemned the Houthi terrorist organization of Yemen on Tuesday for raiding its office in the national capital, Sana’a, stealing critical documents, and taking employees hostage. High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk demanded the freedom of his employees and uninterrupted access to Yemeni civilians in a statement on Tuesday revealing a previously unreported Houthi raid on U.N. officials on August 3. The Houthis, whose Iran-backed terrorist organization is formally known as “Ansarallah,” have for years brutalized human rights workers within their reach. More recently, in June, the Houthis...

Don't know if others have noticed but the Daily Mail, a popular source here, has gone full blown anti Trump. Happened since Kamala entered the race. They weren't "pro Trump" before but their coverage used to be fair. Now the ariticles are now all negative stories about Trump. He is mocked, ridiculed.. non stories are made into stories and fake/ propaganda poll numbers gets top billing. This is clearly an editorial decision.

The State Department warned that there would be a “swift and severe” response if Iran were to send ballistic missiles to Russia, following reports that the country plans to send hundreds of the satellite-guided weapons to Moscow soon. Reuters reported Friday that Iran is planning to ship ballistic missiles to Russia “soon,” citing multiple European intelligence sources, adding that Iran is already training Russian forces on how to use the Fath-360 close-range ballistic missile system. Responding to that report, State Department spokesperson Vedant Patel said Monday that the U.S. would quickly respond to any such transfer. “We’ve been warning of...

Vice President Harris is nipping at former President Trump’s heels in his home state of Florida, a pollster from Suffolk University says after a new Sunshine State survey. The USA Today/Suffolk University/WSVN-TV poll found Harris just 5 points behind Trump among likely Florida voters, 42 percent to 47 percent, just outside the poll’s margin of error. Florida has a million more registered Republicans than Democrats, and Trump won the state in both 2016 and 2020. “Given those circumstances, I was surprised that Harris is within striking distance, being only 5 points down,” David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Political...

CNN was just handed a slew of legal defeats in the $1 billion defamation case against them. On Monday, Judge William Scott Henry of Florida’s 14th Circuit Court sided with Plaintiff and Navy veteran Zachary Young on multiple motions against CNN, including compelling them to turn over their journalistic conduct guidelines, compelling them to comply with turning over documents necessary for financial discovery, and - much to the chagrin of CNN’s counsel - a deposition of anchor Jake Tapper. (snip) Judge Henry came down hard on CNN’s effort to keep Tapper from being deposed. When issuing his ruling, the Judge...

This follows earlier reports by Axios that Blinken was scheduled to travel to the Middle East on Tuesday amid high tensions in the region. His visit was reported to include Qatar, Egypt, and Israel. Blinken has previously visited Israel and the region to quell tensions, threats of regional war, and forging a deal to return the hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Whether it could prove a tactical masterstroke MailOnline examines the invasion so far and assesses what may come next On Tuesday, August 6, around 1,000 brave Ukrainian soldiers supported by a few tanks launched what seemed like a reckless at best - and catastrophic at worst - incursion into Russia's Kursk region. Within 48 hours of the first reports of the border breach, Russia's stonefaced army chief Valery Gerasimov - who reportedly dismissed intelligence reports indicating a Ukrainian troop buildup along the border two weeks prior - declared the invasion had been stopped in its tracks. Now, one week later,...

Former White House adviser Susan Rice said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” that former President Donald Trump is attempting to “denigrate and objectify the vice president” when he said Kamala Harris looks like his wife, Melania, during an interview with Elon Musk on X Monday night. Mitchell said, “In his conversation with Elon Musk last night, Donald Trump repeatedly attacked Kamala Harris’ policies. He seemed focus on praising her appearance, even comparing a new cover illustration of his Democratic opponent to his own wife, Melania.” On X, Trump said, “She looked very much like our great first lady, Melania....

Have you ever seen those montages of local television news stations that repeat nearly identical talking points on each one? It’s almost like they’re all taking orders from some hidden higher authority and their words are being beamed down to them from a starship and they’re just robots—mouths being used to broadcast a message from the secret overlords. It’s almost surreal. If you haven’t seen them, you should look them up. Well, there has been much speculation over the years that black pastors have been bought and sold by the Democrat Party, but there has never been any more demonstrable...
