Fear and loathing of the white working class is palpable in the elite’s response to the unrest.Share Topics Identity Politics Long-reads Politics UK Want to read spiked ad-free? Become a spiked supporter. Something extraordinary happened in the UK this week: the murder of three working-class girls was turned into a moral panic about working-class communities. Ruthlessly, with something approaching relish, the media elites dragged the public gaze from the frenzied stabbing of girls in a seaside town to the supposed frothing bigotries of the seaside town itself. In elite circles, angst over the evil visited on the children of Southport...

U.S. — As she traveled across the country on Air Force 2 this morning, Vice President Kamala Harris surveyed the clouds, wondering which one was storing all of her data. "It's just so incredible they figured out how to store data in clouds. I wonder which one is mine?" said Harris, scanning the horizon. "Gosh, it could be any of them." While in-flight, Harris reportedly tried saving data from her laptop onto the cloud to see if she could witness the data being launched into the sky. "Let's try again, let me just press 'save to cloud' here. Did you...

    — On August 4, 2020, a catastrophic explosion occurred at the Port of Beirut in Lebanon. — The explosion was caused by the detonation of approximately 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, a highly explosive chemical, which had been improperly stored in a warehouse for six years after being confiscated from a cargo ship. — The blast registered as one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history, killing at least 218 people, injuring over 7,000, and displacing approximately 300,000 residents. — The explosion caused an estimated $15 billion in property damage, affecting around 77,000 apartments and leaving a significant portion of...

July 14, 2023 Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie says he’s ready to beat GOP opponent Donald Trump — including in the ring. The former New Jersey governor told Fox News host Piers Morgan in a recent interview that he would no doubt emerge victorious in a head-to-head fight with the former president. “Come on,” Mr. Christie said with a smile in response to the question. “Guy is 78 years old. I’d kick his ass.”

More sickos are publicly pleasuring and exposing themselves on the streets of the Big Apple, crime statistics show — a nauseating development critics have chalked up to lax laws and a broken mental health system. Reports of pervs fondling themselves out in the open soared 51% through June 30, up to 378 complaints from 251 during the same period in 2023, according to NYPD data. Meanwhile cops issued 159 criminal summonses through June 30 citywide to New Yorkers whipping out their genitals — sometimes to urinate — a staggering 396% increase from the 32 tickets written in 2023, according to...

October 16, 2020 Maryland's Republican Governor Larry Hogan cast a write-in vote for late former president Ronald Reagan last week, his office confirmed to CBS News on Friday. Hogan, a frequent critic of President Trump, is not supporting Mr. Trump nor the Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden. Hogan's decision to vote for Reagan was first reported by The Washington Post. According to the CBS News Battleground Tracker, which tracks races based on CBS News polling and analysis, there is overwhelming support for Biden in Maryland. "I know it's simply symbolic," he told the Post. "It's not going to change the...

Representative Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said on this week’s broadcast of “CBS Sunday Morning” that President Joe Biden should be added to Mt. Rushmore. Host Lesley Stahl asked, “Please tell us what you told President Biden to persuade him to step aside.” Pelosi said, “Well, I have never shared any conversations with a President of the United States publicly, so no.” Stahl said, “I understand that you don’t want to own this, but it is so well reported that you were the leader of a pressure campaign.”

The U.S. embassy in Lebanon issued a warning to American citizens on Saturday to leave the country ahead of possible “emergency situations.” The security alert recommended U.S. citizens in Lebanon make plans to leave or prepare to “shelter in place for an extended period of time.” The alert comes as the country anticipates a retaliation effort from Israel following a missile attack from Lebanese-based Hezbollah terrorists that killed 12 children on July 27. “We encourage those who wish to depart Lebanon to book any ticket available to them, even if that flight does not depart immediately or does not follow...

I have detected a serious YouTube security threat that needs exposure. All IT and security experts welcome to please check into my findings and chime in. Here is what I found so far. Years ago this was a problem. Just going to youtube or Google mail at all even on another tab without logging in would load strong spyware in your browser and even in your machine permanently which required reinstalling your OS to remove. It tracked logins on other tabs and was gaining access to keyboards, microphones, and cameras even if you just landed on their site by accident....

The National Football League is the latest organization to turn to facial authentication to bolster event security, according to an announcement this week. All 32 NFL stadiums will start using the technology this season, after the league signed a contract with a company that uses facial scans to verify the identity of people entering event venues and other secure spaces. The facial authentication platform, which counts the Cleveland Browns’ owners as investors, will be used to “streamline and secure” entry for thousands of credentialed media, officials, staff and guests so they can easily access restricted areas such as press boxes...

“Christians should stand up.” By simply making that assertion on social media, police—accompanied by a head shrink—“visited” and questioned a man in his home in Australia (video here). The man had made that assertion on social media following the stabbing of an Orthodox bishop by a Muslim inside a Sydney church. As the man can be heard questioning the police, This is religious discrimination, right now, you know? Because you wouldn’t be knocking on Muslims’ doors if they had this conversation—so I already know why you’re here. This is religious discrimination.

A country has issued the first travel warning to its citizens urging them to stay away from parts of the UK amid the ongoing violent riots. The country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has told its nationals to 'remain vigilant' as it reassures them it is 'closely monitoring' the unrest - which have led to over 100 arrests. Far-right protests have rocked Britain this week after misinformation about the identity of a man arrested for the murder of three girls in Southport encouraged yobs to loot from shops, attack police officers and target Mosques with projectiles. This afternoon, violent protesters clad...

United Sovereign Americans, a nonpartisan, all-volunteer organization dedicated to honest elections, has just released a report detailing millions of errors discovered in state voter databases in twenty states that account for 338 electoral votes. Their team of data analysts has over 700 years of big-data and auditing experience. They have acquired multiple copies of actual state voter databases for 2022, and their peer-reviewed analyses have discovered 29 million apparently ineligible voter registrations, 10 million votes cast by those ineligible registrations, and 2 million more votes counted than voters who voted, leading to a 13% vote error rate, where the legally...

Over the past decade, Clint Leavitt saw different models of how to mix his evangelical faith and politics, none of them — to his mind — good. His family’s dinner table was consumed with debate over whether Barack Obama was the Antichrist. Even as his Phoenix church avoided political issues, he saw Christians around the country turn Donald Trump into a religious idol.A drive to create a Christian political presence he calls “shaped by Jesus, not a partisan political ideology” led Leavitt, now 29, to seminary and then to pastoring a church filled with congregants who vote differently from one...

Despite demonstrating an appalling ignorance of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) disease and admitting that most of the coercive actions she took did more harm than good, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich) told CNN that she is "proud of my pandemic response. Back then we had no way of knowing that the SARS virus would be respiratory in nature. We didn't know that elderly individuals in poor health would be especially vulnerable until thousands of the them died after we sent old folks who had the virus to live in nursing homes with old folks who didn't." • The Race for Next Generation Submarines - Ageing Fleets, Innovation, & Undersea Dominance

Nuclear powered submarines are often among the most complex and expensive systems ever fielded by any military. However, for decades, they (and less expensive conventionally powered designs) have been considered a cornerstone of naval power by many navies because of the unique capabilities they offer. With new anti-submarine threats emerging, from new sensors to unmanned systems, many nations are now preparing to design and produce a new generation of submarines to answer those threats, leverage new technologies, and keep up with international competitors. Today, we take a look at that emerging development and construction race.
