A federal appeals court refused to lift a judge’s order to temporarily halt the Biden administration’s Title IX rule. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a federal district judge’s preliminary injunction, blocking the new Title IX rule in six states: Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. “As we see it, the district court likely concluded correctly that the Rule’s definition of sex discrimination exceeds the U.S. Education Department’s authority,” a three-judge panel said in its majority ruling. Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman praised the latest ruling as “a victory for common sense.” “For 50 years, Title...

(Reuters) - A federal appeals court on Thursday blocked President Joe Biden's administration from continuing to implement a new student debt relief plan designed to lower monthly payments for millions of Americans. The St. Louis-based 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals granted a request by seven Republican-led states to put on hold parts of the U.S. Department of Education's debt relief plan that had not already been blocked by a lower-court judge. That ruling last month by U.S. District Judge John Ross in St. Louis had blocked the department from granting further loan forgiveness under the administration's Saving on a...

Even in this oppressive heat, I still see adults wearing face coverings. I was at a laundromat recently where an elderly man was sitting outside at a picnic table (by himself) with a mask on. It’s his business, of course, but he looked ridiculous. President Trump’s would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, has been called “nerdy” and a “loner,” but what struck me was that a former classmate who described Mr. Crooks as “a little off” also said he wore a mask after Covid was over. We were all required to wear them years ago, but those who continue to don...

...Thomas Crooks, 20, who was killed by US Secret Service after he fired at the former president at a rally in Butler County, Pennsylvania on Saturday, had searched online for various high-profile figures as he “scoped out” the target for assassination, including an unnamed member of the British Royal family. Vincent Taormina, who knew Crooks at school in 2016, told Fox News he was “smug” about politics and had mocked him for supporting Trump. “He just did not like politicians, especially with the choices that we had,” he said. “He did not like our politicians.” “I brought up the fact...

On Thursday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Chris Jansing Reports,” Biden Campaign Principal Deputy Campaign Manager Quentin Fulks maintained that President Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee and said that “Whether folks turn out to vote for Vice President Harris being on the ticket with President Biden or for Joe Biden makes no difference to us.” Fulks said, “This is a margin of error race. We have said, from the beginning, this race is going to be close. We know the states that are going to decide this election, which is why our campaign has been building an infrastructure to make...

It’s the world’s worst kept secret. She will be a tough sell in the Midwest. Her campaign faces ballot access issues in Wisconsin. As a candidate, Kamala has all of Hillary’s downsides, on steroids. Biden picked her for a reason: insurance. When she gets crushed in Nov., Biden will be able to say, I told you so.

A Republican candidate for county commissioner publicly lost support from the GOP after throwing her housemate's tarantula down the stairs, according to multiple reports. Marisa Simonetti is running for Hennepin County Commissioner, but has had her public support from the GOP rescinded after she was charged with assault following a disagreement with a housemate. Simonetti claims she rented space in her home to an attorney, Jackie Vasquez, while she studied for the Bar Exam. Simonetti lived on the upper floor and Vasquez on the lower, but within weeks everything fell apart. Vasquez apparently started complaining about a "spider infestation," and...
