CV NEWS FEED // The Delaware Senate has approved legislation requiring Medicaid and most private health insurance plans to cover abortion. According to the Associated Press, Democratic senators passed the legislation on a party-line vote, though it still needs to be approved by Democratic Gov. John Carney. The bill does include an exemption allowing churches and religious employers to seek a waiver from covering abortions, but other insurance providers must provide abortions without charging copays or applying deductibles. The coverage would be limited to $750 per person per year. The bill is one of many recent anti-life laws, as Delaware...

President Donald Trump responded to rampant speculation that President Joe Biden will be replaced or step down after Thursday’s debate performance. Speaking to Fox News on Friday morning, the former president was asked whether he believes the incumbent president will be the Democrat Party’s nominee after the debate. “Yes, I think he will be the nominee,” former President Trump said. When he was asked about speculation that President Biden could be replaced as the nominee, he said that he doesn’t believe that will happen. He also indicated that he would have defeated anyone who was on the stage with him...

The U.S. military is once again removing the Gaza pier due to poor weather, and there is no clear timeline on when it would be reanchored, the Pentagon confirmed Friday. Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh said heavy seas and high winds forced the military to temporarily dismantle the pier and send it to the Israeli port city Ashdod. She did not say when it would come back online, amid speculation that it may not at all. “When the commander decides that it’s the right time to reinstall that pier, we’ll keep you updated on that,” she said. “As we...

A person of diminished mental capacity cannot enter into a contract, file a lawsuit, or purchase a gun. This basic rule has been a pillar of Western societies for a millinea. Biden has been judged by his own DoJ whose zeal to indict has led to octogenarians to be jailed, to be too mentally incapacitated to stand trial. Last night showed the American public a few things. We all saw, and now even the left cannot deny, biden has dementia. He couldn't remember th 13 soldiers who died during his Afgan withdrawal. He even said illegal immigrants were to be...

A record-breaking $111-plus billion budget that will reverse the majority of cuts pushed by Mayor Eric Adams in recent months has been reached in a handshake deal with City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams set to be announced Friday, sources told The Post. The two Adamses (no relation) — whose rivalry has become increasingly bitter — will shake hands on the fiscal year 2025 budget agreement during an afternoon event, sources said. The full scope of reversals had yet to be unveiled, but the $58 million funding restoration to libraries touted by the mayor and speaker Thursday night will bring seven-day...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The pier built by the U.S. military to bring aid to Gaza has been removed due to weather to protect it, and the U.S. is considering not re-installing it unless the aid begins flowing out into the population again, U.S. officials said Friday. While the military has helped deliver desperately needed food through the pier, the vast majority of it is still sitting in the adjacent storage yard and that area is almost full. Aid agencies have had difficulty moving the food to areas further into Gaza where it is most needed because the humanitarian convoys have...

Good news! We recently reached a favorable settlement for our clients at Heartbeat of Miami, a faith-based ministry that provides life-affirming services and support to women and couples facing unplanned pregnancies in Hialeah, Florida. While we cannot publicly discuss the specifics of the settlement quite yet, the vandals associated with Jane’s Revenge who sought to injure, intimidate and interfere with access to Heartbeat of Miami, and several Florida pregnancy resource centers, will be held to account. Last year, First Liberty and volunteer attorneys from Lawson Huck Gonzalez filed a federal lawsuit seeking to hold accountable the individuals who defaced and...

Following his slow-motion implosion Thursday night at the presidential debate, calls grew from Democratic Party stalwarts, including mainstream liberal media outlets like MSNBC and CNN, for the president to step down, and for another Democrat nominee to be chosen. If Biden agrees, that might be a simpler maneuver, but if he clings to power and refuses to step aside, things will be a whole lot messier — and it looks like things are about to get messy. News reports Friday morning suggest that President Biden has no intention of stepping down and plans to participate in the next debate on...

Archbishop Viganò: I accuse Bergoglio of heresy and schismEditor’s note: The following essay is the full English translation of a statement from Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò in response to the charge of schism from the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, published in Italian on June 28, 2024.‘But even if we or an angel from heavenShould preach to you a gospel other than the one that we preached to you,let that one be accursed. As we have said before, and now I say again,if anyone preaches to you a gospel other than the one that you received, let him be...

It started with a “Hello, Cleveland” moment. Joe Biden gingerly shuffling to the podium and saying in a husky whisper “Great to be here, thank you” to an empty room foreshadowed. The 90 minutes that followed showcased a candidate struggling to articulate coherent thoughts in complete sentences and occasionally suffering brain freezes. The key moment came early, when, for many uncomfortable seconds, Biden lost not only his train of thought but muttered words seemingly untethered from his brain. The profoundly awkward moment ended with the non sequitur: “Look, if we finally beat Medicare.”Come again? The split-screen when Trump answered questions damaged Biden...

Since the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturned Roe v. Wade, states have been allowed to pass their own abortion laws. As certain states began to pass stronger protections for preborn human beings, other states began to eliminate protections — and ‘abortion travel’ became a hot-button issue. Some companies began funding abortion travel as a “benefit” to employees, and abortion funds began to pay for airfare, hotels, and the like in order to assist women living in pro-life states to obtain abortions in states where abortion was more available. Since that time, the Guttmacher Institute...

I've been pointing out Windows security bugs since Windows for Workgroups showed up in 1992 and I showed how you could steal data from your coworker's spreadsheets using Object Linking and Embedding (OLE). You'd think Microsoft would have figured security out by now. But no. It's only gotten worse – much worse. In June 2023, Chinese hacking group Storm-0558 stole US government "secure" messages from Microsoft's Exchange Online. I was only surprised that the Feds managed to catch them – Microsoft certainly didn't figure it out.Former senior White House cyber policy director AJ Grotto said it best: he asserted it was...

The US Supreme Court on Friday delivered a devastating blow to Biden’s corrupt Justice Department and overturned the obstruction charge used to jail hundreds of January 6 defendants. Biden’s corrupt DOJ charged more than 300 J6ers with 18 USC §1512(c)(2). Additionally, two of the four charges against Trump in Jack Smith’s DC case are conspiracy to obstruct so the Supreme Court’s ruling on Friday torpedoed the special counsel’s case against Trump as well. The Supreme Court earlier this year heard oral arguments in Fischer v. United States and at issue was statute 18 USC §1512(c)(2): Whoever corruptly— (1) alters, destroys,...

On Friday, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled to uphold the state’s law protecting preborn children from being killed by abortion after about six weeks gestation (four weeks post-fertilization), when a prenatal heartbeat can be detected. Previously, babies were legally allowed to be killed up to 22 weeks gestation in the state. A preborn child’s heart begins to beat by around day 22 after fertilization, even before it has formed four chambers. “As the heartbeat bill finally becomes law, we are deeply committed to supporting women in planning for motherhood, and promoting fatherhood and its importance in parenting,” said Gov. Kim...

The Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) on Friday overturned Chevron v. National Resources Defense Council (1984), a ruling federal agencies have relied on in the creation of regulatory gun control.Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority opinion, noting, “Chevron is overruled. Courts must exercise their independent judgment in deciding whether an agency has acted within its statutory authority, as the APA [Administrative Procedure Act] requires.”
