NATIONAL CHEESE DAY Moooove over whiners! June 4th is National Cheese Day! An encyclopedia of cheese will cover the alphabet and broaden your vocabulary. It will undoubtedly contain more varieties of cheese than what's found at the local grocer. #NationalCheeseDay Cheese is produced from the pressed curds of milk. The milk can come from cows, buffalo, goats, or sheep. Temperature and aging affect the flavor and texture of the cheese, as well as spices and other seasonings added during the process. The opportunity to go to a cheese tasting or visit a cheesemonger who is knowledgeable about pairings will improve...

Unrealized losses in the US banking system are once again on the rise, according to new numbers from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In its Quarterly Banking Profile report, the FDIC says banks are now saddled with more than half a trillion dollars in paper losses on their balance sheets, due largely to exposure to the residential real estate market. Unrealized losses represent the difference between the price banks paid for securities and the current market value of those assets. Although banks can hold securities until they mature without marking them to market on their balance sheets, unrealized losses...

A Wall Street Journal poll in April found that approximately 30% of black men were either considering or planning to vote for Donald Trump in November, an eyebrow-raising jump from the 19% of the black male vote he garnered in the 2020 presidential election (up from 12% in 2016). The WSJ poll also reflected a rise in support for Trump among black women: 12% said they were considering or planning to vote for Trump in 2024, quadrupling the percentage who voted for him in 2016.This is disconcerting news for Democrats, who have long smugly felt that they held an unbreakable...

Last Thursday, in a courtroom in Manhattan that voted against him 88-12% in 2020, a jury, heavily persuaded by a judge, who contributed to Joe Biden in 2020, convicted President Donald Trump on 34 counts of falsification of business records. The case concerns payments that were made to former Trump attorney Michael Cohen in 2017. Cohen claimed the payments were reimbursement for a $130,000 payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels to ensure her silence about an alleged sexual encounter with President Trump.Trump contended that he never had a sexual liaison with Daniels and that there was nothing illegal about his...

ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos clashed with former President Trump’s attorney, Will Scharf, in a Sunday interview, over the former president’s unsubstantiated claims that President Biden played a role in bringing the hush money criminal case against Trump in New York. In an interview on “This Week,” Scharf repeatedly echoed claims of the former president, arguing the hush money criminal trial — which ended in a guilty conviction against Trump on 34 felony counts — was “exhibit A” in terms of the “politicization of the legal system.” “It’s absolutely unprecedented in American history. It’s not the way that our campaigns...

Politics, they say, makes strange bedfellows, but there is nothing really strange about this at all: two jihad terrorist groups, al-Qaeda and Hezbollah, have declared how pleased they are that students all over the United States are protesting, with so much youthful energy and arrogance, against Israel. And why not? If Israel fails to achieve its goal of destroying Hamas, it will be a major victory for the forces of jihad worldwide. Al-Qaeda and Hezbollah will be the beneficiaries as much as Hamas and all the other jihad groups everywhere.Al-Qaeda started out by praising Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023 jihad massacre...

Officials within a police department in Maine warned that they have seen an “uptick” in fake social security numbers being used for driver’s licenses. Darcy Valido, the communications assistant director of operations for the Sanford Regional Communications Center within the Sanford Police Department, sent an email warning that officials had seen an increase in the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) issuing driver’s licenses that are “using 999-99-9999” as the social security number, according to Maine Wire. “We’ve seen an uptick in DMV using 999-99-9999 for social security numbers,” Valido wrote in a May 23 email to several police departments in...

“It’s almost as if the principals (prosecutors and judge) were performing for their political audience — with a wink, a nod and a stage whisper (“watch this!”) as they ignore yet another fundamental element of American due process.” — Jack DeVine on “X”. The ninnies of Bidenworld seem to not understand that by subjecting Mr. Trump to a kangaroo court they’ve made him the kind of outlaw that Americans revere above every other archetypal hero. He’s the new American Robin Hood, the people’s outlaw — with “Joe Biden” relegated as the wicked Sir Guy of Gisbourne, master of foul play...

“Now among them from the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. Then the commander of the officials assigned new names to them; and to Daniel he assigned the name Belteshazzar, to Hananiah Shadrach, to Mishael Meshach, and to Azariah Abed-nego” (Daniel 1:6-7). You can’t always prevent personal loss, but you can respond to it in ways that glorify God. It was a quiet January morning in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California until suddenly and without warning the earth shook with such a violent force that many department stores, apartment houses, homes, and freeway overpasses crumbled...

The New York Times reports Hillary Clinton saying that if Trump wins the 2024 election “we may never see another actual election.” Nancy Pelosi tweets: “This moment is a somber one for America. Trial by a jury of peers is a fundamental principle of democracy, which must be respected.” Really ladies, do women of your experience and wisdom really think like that? You think that Trump could stop elections in the United States -- even if he wanted to? And surely you both know that trial by jury started way before anyone thought of modern democracy, let alone “Our Democracy?”...

Israeli-American casino billionaire Miriam Adelson is expected to announce a multi-million dollar boost to Trump's campaign this week. Politico reported that the contribution is expected to exceed the $90m donation to Preserve America by Mrs Adelson and her late husband, Sheldon in the 2020 election. In the hours following the verdict, a number of wealthy billionaires posted messages of support for Trump. Among them was Silicon Valley investor David Sacks, who posted on X that there "is now only one issue in this election: whether the American people will stand for the USA becoming a Banana Republic". On 6 June,...
