The program will give 100 people in one of Cleveland’s neighborhoods a wage subsidy or guaranteed salary of $50,000 a year for three years. Participants will also receive health insurance through their employer. “Dignifying historically low wage work and beyond the direct care industry thinking about jobs like that turnover hospital beds and also jobs that happen in community through local coffee shops and diners and things like that,” Cotten said. Councilmember Stephanie Howse-Jones said the city council voted to invest $600,000 into the pilot. She said this program could be beneficial for both employees and businesses. “In this pilot,...

This week, former President Trump held a campaign rally in the Bronx Borough of New York City. An estimated crowd of 25,000 enthusiastic fans attended. Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) called the attendees "clowns" and the rally "a waste of time." "Anyone who thinks that enthusiastic voters are going to decide this election is sadly mistaken," Hochul proclaimed. "In the 2020 election Trump had slews of rallies with tens of thousands of enthusiastic supporters. Then former Vice-President Biden had only a few dozen attendees at his infrequent campaign appearances. Yet, he easily defeated Trump when the votes were counted." "The secret...

This coming Sunday is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. While the Trinity might evoke a “Ho-hum, don’t we know that already …” response from many Catholics, the doctrine of the Trinity is essential to—and distinctive of—the Christian faith and is vital to our daily prayer and walk with God. The doctrine of the Trinity touches on who God is; if one has this doctrine wrong, one has the wrong idea of God and may in fact be worshiping a god who does not exist. The Trinity is by no means a dead theological issue, either. Most obviously, Jews...

In a rare move, the Washington Post has debunked the New York Times over its story regarding the upside-down U.S. flag being flown over Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s home in 2021. A Post reporter had visited the Alito’s at the time of the incident, enquiring about the flag, but finding nothing more than a neighborhood dispute. The Post explained Saturday: The Post decided not to report on the episode at the time because the flag-raising appeared to be the work of Martha-Ann Alito, rather than the justice, and connected to a dispute with her neighbors, a Post spokeswoman said....

Joe Biden is in Wilmington, Delaware, for yet another vacation. He did, however, take a brief sojourn from the vacation to go to West Point to deliver the commencement address. Biden previously gave a commencement address that got heavily criticized -- and rightly so -- for being a race-baiting mess. At West Point, Biden had to take a walk to get to the stage after they announced him. It was concerning to watch how he moved forward in that stilted fashion that he has, with the "Mr. Burns" empty look on his face:

Media Matters has laid off dozens of employees following a lawsuit filed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The conservative smear network laid off a handful of their employees on Friday. Media Matters President Angelo Carusone said the company is taking action to ensure they’re “sustainable, sturdy, and successful for whatever lies ahead.” “We’re confronting a legal assault on multiple fronts, and, given how rapidly the media landscape is shifting, we need to be extremely intentional about how we allocate resources in order to stay effective,” said Media Matters President Angelo Carusone. “Nobody does what Media Matters does.” One America News...

Harrison Butker fiercely defended the controversial Benedictine College commencement speech he gave earlier this month during Friday evening’s Regina Caeli Academy Courage Under Fire Gala. “If it wasn’t clear that the timeless Catholic values are hated by many, it is now,” the Kansas City Chiefs kicker, who is on the board of the Catholic homeschool hybrid school, said while at the fundraiser. “Over the past few days, my beliefs — or what people think I believe — have been the focus of countless discussions around the globe.”

This Memorial Day we think of those who gave their last full measure on our behalf as Americans; to preserve our freedoms and liberties in rightness, which only come from Almighty God (John 8:32, 36, Gal. 1:4, 3:13, 5:1, Titus 2:14). There can NEVER be TRUE liberty in this fallen world without a saving relationship to our Creator and apart from the firm adherence to Almighty God's moral absolutes (Prov. 14:34). Our Founding Fathers knew this to be true and have communicated this to us in their writings and in our nation's birth certificate. Today, America has full well rejected...

"Let it be known that the consequences of mass rape and murder will be swift, and in the form of cash." Terrorist organizations reeled from the shocking news, stunned by the United Nation's dramatic action. "My English not so good, let me be sure I understand," said terrorist...

Pope Francis is under fire after claiming that human beings are “fundamentally good” in a recent interview with 60 Minutes host Norah O’ Donnell. “We are all fundamentally good,” he said. “Yes, there are some rogues and sinners, but the heart itself is good.” Evangelical leaders have pointed out that the pontiff’s statements are contrary to the teaching of original sin, one of Christianity’s basic doctrines. “If this is true, we don’t need a Savior to die on the Cross,” wrote Eric Metaxas, best-selling author and national radio host. Alluding to the pope’s statements in light of the 24/7 news...

On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America Reports,” Gilad Erdan, Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, blasted the U.N. as an enemy of “the values of America and the free world” that is used to “whitewash” the crimes of dictators and rogues and argued that unless there are fundamental reforms to the organization, the United States should give consideration to defunding the U.N.

Never in human history has a government disarmed a people to ensure greater individual liberty and public safety. No one really knows how many Americans regularly carry handguns, concealed or openly. The number of concealed carry licenses doesn’t tell the tale, particularly since 29 states are now “constitutional carry states.” Unless otherwise prohibited by law, Americans need no license to carry concealed weapons in those states. As I recently noted here at AT, some 36 states allow open carry. Graphic: Glock 43X, Author: We do know that April was the 57th consecutive month of more than one million gun sales....
