Morgan Bettinger was just a regular college student — until one unlucky encounter with a Black Lives Matter activist brought her whole world crashing down. She was branded racist and forced to defend herself for years against a country determined to destroy her. The only problem: none of the accusations were true. Hate crime hoaxes like the type perpetrated against Morgan have become an all-too-common part of American life. We all know the big stories: Jussie Smollet and his hired attackers; Bubba Wallace and the garage door noose; Michael Brown and “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot.” These stories faced hyper-scrutiny in...

CV NEWS FEED // A Wall Street Journal analysis article recently highlighted that Planet Fitness’ incoming CEO will most likely have to address the controversy about men using women’s locker rooms, even though the viral outrage over the controversy has subsided for now. WSJ journalist Jennifer Maloney wrote on May 19 that Planet Fitness is still in the center of a “culture-war storm” that started in March, when a female gym user posted a photo of a man using the women’s locker room at an Alaska Planet Fitness location. The male gym member identified as “transgender” and is seen in...

Secretary of State Antony Blinken told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday that offering condolences to Iran for the death of President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash on Sunday was the “normal course of business.” The State Department issued a statement of condolences without mentioning Raisi’s brutal legacy, including the executions of thousands of political prisoners in the 1980s, and prosecuting pro-democracy activists more recently. Raisi was also seen as a hardliner, and suppressed protests by women, including Mahsa Amini, resulting in what Breitbart News’ Frances Martel called “some of the most violent repression of dissidents caught on...

Rumors that former President Trump has asked major oil companies to donate a billion dollars to his campaign has irked Democrats such that Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md) warned the eight energy company CEOs that were said to have had dinner with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort last month "to not put all your money on one horse in the race. If that horse loses the race you could suffer much more than the loss of your investment." "Giving money to both sides has been a long-term insurance policy that has spared your industry from extinction," Raskin reminded. "If you think...

The wheels of justice grind slow, but they grind exceedingly fine. If you're like me, you may have been losing faith in the U.S. justice system, as it has been politicized, weaponized, and turned against Donald Trump and his supporters. But as time has passed, the cavalcade of bogus cases against the past and future president has been disintegrating like comets passing into the Earth's atmosphere. Let's begin with the most recent meltdown. Alvin Bragg's Hush Trump trial This case was already shaky and ripe for appeal. Not to bore you by rehashing what you already know, but among the...

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on a bleak and drizzly Friday in downtown Louisville, Ky., a black SUV pulled away from the four-story AC Hotel on East Market Street. Its destination: Valhalla Golf Club, about 17 miles due east. At the wheel was an ESPN production runner who was shuttling four on-air personalities — reporter Jeff Darlington; analyst and former U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy; and play-by-play announcers Dave Fleming and Bob Wischusen — to the property to cover the 106th PGA Championship. Most of what is typically a 30-minute drive was traffic-free, but that changed as the SUV neared the...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Biden administration said Tuesday that it is releasing 1 million barrels of gasoline from a Northeast reserve established after Superstorm Sandy in a bid to lower prices at the pump this summer. The sale, from storage sites in New Jersey and Maine, will be allocated in increments of 100,000 barrels at a time. The approach will create a competitive bidding process that ensures gasoline can flow into local retailers ahead of the July 4 holiday and sold at competitive prices, the Energy Department said. The move is intended to help “lower costs for American families and...

"Whoever of you has hopes of setting foot in Rome without a fight is mistaken in his judgment. For as long as Belisarius lives, it is impossible for him to relinquish this city."~Belisarius to the Gothic envoys in AD 537 The above quote is taken from The History of the Wars by the late-Roman historian, Procopius of Caesarea. To set the scene, envision the grand Gothic army of over 100,000 mail-clad warriors newly arrived at their camps about the walls of Rome. Within the walls, Belisarius and his paltry force of less than 6,000 men could barely defend a fraction...

Western allies are taking too long to make key decisions on military support for Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Reuters in an exclusive interview in Kyiv on Monday. He also said he was pushing partners to get more directly involved in the war by helping to intercept Russian missiles over Ukraine and allowing Kyiv to use Western weapons against enemy military equipment amassing near the border. The call to accelerate aid and push so-called "red lines" of engagement in the conflict reflect the growing pressure Zelenskyy's forces are under along more than 1,000 km of front lines in the northeast,...

The rotary dial phone was once the be all and end all of the telephones. Like the cellphone of today, everybody had one, and they ruled domestic communications for decades. But that all changed in the 1980s when they were supplanted by a new upstart, push-button telephones. Their days were numbered (pun intended). Many born after the 1990s have likely never seen one, which is a shame. But for those who do remember, join us as we take a trip back in time in remembrance of this glorious piece of telecommunications history.

Voters in Biden's hometown of Scranton, Pennsylvania, told DailyMail.com they are not backing hometown hero Joe in 2024. President Joe Biden likes to invoke his humble beginnings in the foothills of Pennsylvania when addressing the country and potential voters. He even made a highly-publicized trip to the town last month to gather support. But voters here don't see eye-to-eye with the 81-year-old commander-in-chief, telling DailyMail.com that life was better for them under former President Donald Trump.
