If you have to pay people to come to church, you might have a dead church. Jesus promised He would build his church on the solid rock of faith—faith in the atoning work of Christ on the cross. Yet, some “churches” either don’t believe that, or are just simply dissatisfied with Christ’s craftsmanship. So what do they do? They turn to gimmicks, entertainment, and … cash prizes. The Cross Church in Parkersburg, West Virginia, will be giving away door prizes, holding an Easter egg hunt with over 3 thousand eggs, and giving away hundreds of dollars in cash to people...

A Canadian church is demonstrating how much they hate Jesus and his word, incorporating a drag show as part of their Easter Sunday service to show “solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community” and serve as a “sacred act of protest.” Calgary Unitarian ‘Church,’ led by the excretable Samaya Oakley, is putting on the ‘Drag Me to Church’ event to honor and celebrate International Transgender Day of Visibility, which overlaps with Easter Sunday. Alberta recently passed a law that prohibits child castration before the age of 18, and this den of wolves and goatlings is enraged by it, using a service typically...

A federal appeals court has extended its hold on the implementation of Senate Bill 4, a Texas immigration bill that makes illegal border-crossers deportable under Texas state law. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) claims that the law, signed on Dec. 18, 2023, is necessary because the Biden administration has willfully refused to enforce our nation’s immigration laws. The administration’s position is that S.B. 4 is preempted and violates the U.S. Constitution. The Constitution tasks the federal government with regulating immigration and controlling international borders. A “decision on removability,” the argument goes, touches “on foreign relations and must be made with...

CRU, which used to be Campus Crusade for Christ has been on a liberal drift for quite some time. Like seemingly all Christian ministries, the spirit of the age with LGBTQ issues seems to be more than the organization could stand. And now, if you don't agree with this Christian organization's positions on rainbow issues then you're going to have a tough time. One of the nation's largest campus ministries has dismissed two longtime employees who publicly questioned the way it addresses theological issues surrounding sexuality and gender. Uriah and Marissa Mundell, who live and work in Austin, voiced their...

A new study shows that a ketogenic diet significantly delays the early stages of Alzheimer's-related memory loss in mice. This early memory loss is comparable to mild cognitive impairment in humans that precedes full-blown Alzheimer's disease. The ketogenic diet is a low-carbohydrate, high-fat, and moderate-protein diet, which shifts the body's metabolism from using glucose as the main fuel source to burning fat and producing ketones for energy. Researchers previously found that mice lived 13% longer on ketogenic diets. The new study, which follows up on that research, found that the molecule beta-hydroxybutyrate, or BHB, plays a pivotal role in preventing...

A new study—the largest of its kind globally—has found children with multiple sclerosis (MS) have better outcomes if treated early and with the same high-efficacy therapies as adults. There are a limited number of therapies approved for children with MS, with only one considered to be of high efficacy—meaning highly effective. However, a Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) observational study has determined that pediatric patients should be treated with the same high-efficacy treatments offered to adults as early in their diagnosis as possible to avoid the onset of significant disability. "We found that patients who were treated with high-efficacy disease-modifying therapies...

Researchers have uncovered a mechanism by which a hormone can protect the blood vessels in the kidneys from the damage caused by diabetes. In doing so, the team has identified a potential early treatment strategy to prevent or slow progression of kidney disease in people with diabetes. Kidney damage from diabetes usually happens slowly over many years. One of the ways damage can be caused is by disruption of the glycocalyx—a thin gel-like layer lining the surface of the blood vessels forming part of the tiny filters of the kidney ('glomeruli')—due to high blood sugar levels over a long period...

On Friday’s broadcast of “CNN This Morning,” CNN Senior Political Analyst Mark Preston stated that critics of President Joe Biden attending a fundraiser in New York and skipping the wake of a slain NYPD officer are “not telling you…that Joe Biden has been to these funerals in the past. In fact, back in 2014, he had gone to an officer’s slaying who was gunned down just sitting inside his patrol car.” After viewing video of Fox News host Greg Gutfeld criticizing the fundraiser, Preston said, “When it comes to the split-screen moment, he is right, in the sense that it...

Fiber is essential for the digestive system. It helps maintain a healthy weight and lowers the risk of diabetes, heart disease and certain cancers. Getting the right amount of fiber, whether through food or drinks, is a great way to relieve constipation. In addition to all that, fiber supplements could improve brain function in older adults, according to a new study. The study followed individuals over the age of 60 for a 12-week period. Results found those who took prebiotic fiber supplements showed a "significant improvement in memory." The study evaluated the gut microbiome and its correlation with both cognitive...
