British Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer on Sunday called for a ceasefire “now” between Israel and the Islamist Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip. Appearing before a Scottish Labour conference in Glasgow on Sunday, Sir Keir Starmer once again tried to thread the needle on the Israel issue, calling for a ceasefire to the conflict, while not going so far as the far-left and Muslim factions within his base would likely wish. Sir Keir said according to the BBC that there needs to be an end to the fighting “not just for now, not just for a pause, but...

Elon Musk shared a powerful yet terrifying documentary from Robby Starbuck on the dangers of the trans movement. Worth watching, especially for parents pic.twitter.com/k6gb2CMVqU — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) February 18, 2024 As Musk notes, parents should watch because the people in this movement rely on them not being involved, not paying attention, or worse, buying into the nonsense and allowing their children to become part of it. Scary stuff. I didn’t fully appreciate the depth of this war. But there is really a war on children. https://t.co/NafreeLob4 — BowTiedYanqui — The Sovereign Wolf (@BowTiedYanqui) February 18, 2024 As the parent...

The luxury ocean liner Queen Victoria became the center of an unknown outbreak after 129 passengers and 25 crew members were struck by an unidentified gastrointestinal illness, causing symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting during its grand 107-night world voyage. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported earlier this month that the widespread sickness has been ongoing throughout the ship’s journey, which sailed from Southampton, U.K., on January 11 and is set to conclude its voyage there on April 24. The itinerary includes visits to several exotic destinations, including Cape Town, South Africa, and Hong Kong, China. It...

Governor Josh Shapiro (D-PA) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that former President Donald Trump is an “agent of chaos who’s trying to restrict our freedom.” Partial transcript as follows: SHAPIRO: Joe Biden is going to be our nominee, and I’m proud to support him. He talks about being a bridge — and let me tell you something, he helped us repair that bridge on I-95 in 12 days. He was my partner in that, and he’s been a partner to many of us across the country in moving our country forward and saving our economy from ruin and helping...

VIDEOThe liberals smugly thought they had it all figured out. Get a deranged judge and a TDS prosecutor who campaigned primarily on Trump hate in New York to find Donald Trump guilty on an absurd charge that no one else in history had been charged with and for which there were NO victims. Of course, this totally bogus case was sure to be tossed on appeal but the whole point was that during the appeals process that could last for many months or over a year, Trump would have to come up with the over $350 million penalty and prohibited...

A Target superstore in West Virginia has shut down after a slipping hillside caused it collapse, tearing off one corner of the building. Shocking video shows a giant crack in the corner of the store in Barboursville where the ground beneath has given way, causing it to fall free. The store closed on February 2 when the hill first slipped, and then when it slipped even further on Wednesday, the store was forced to shut its doors indefinitely. It's not yet known what caused the slippage, but three families were evacuated from homes behind the Target, with the shopping chain...

The Federal Reserve (aka, The Keep) is back in the saddle again. The Fed has been unable to control inflation since Federal government spending was so fast and furious after Covid that little thought was given to the long-term ramifications of insane spending. Example? Home price growth is rising again. Home prices in traditional “bubble cities” out west were cooling, but are reaccelerating. Even Detroit and Cleveland are seeing rapid home price acceleration. In retrospect, this wholesale dovish euphoria may have been rather short sighted, because after several strong economist reports hit the tape (with the Nov 2024 election growing...

President Joe Biden is reportedly preparing to ease its push to force electric vehicles onto American consumers as consumer demand for the vehicles remains low, dealerships have expressed serious concerns, and automakers have had to cut production and revamp production of gas vehicles. The New York Times reported that the move was a “concession to automakers and labor unions” from the administration as it was forcing “limits on tailpipe emissions” to force Americans to switch from gas-powered cars to more expensive electric vehicles — which often have performance issues in adverse weather conditions. The serious lack of charging stations, and...

New York's iconic St Patrick's Cathedral has claimed it was duped into holding a 'scandalous' funeral service for a transgender activist celebrated in the mass as 'the great whore'. The Catholic cathedral which bills itself as 'America's parish church' has been ordered to hold a 'mass of reparation' after hundreds of scantily-clad admirers danced in the aisles for former sex worker Cecilia Gentili. The self-proclaimed atheist died at 52 on February 6, and organizers have admitted they kept her identity 'kind of under wraps' when booking the mass with cathedral authorities. Now the cathedral pastor has issued a groveling apology...

My new essay is here: https://nautil.us/what-physicists-hav...We've seen a lot of headlines in the past year about how dangerous AI is and how overblown these fears are . I've found it hard to make sense of this discussion. If only someone could systematically interview experts and figure out what they're worried about. Well, a group of researchers from the UK has done exactly that and just published their results. What they have found is, not very reassuring. Let's have a look. The paper is here: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/...AI experts make predictions for 2040. I was a little surprised. | 6:57Sabine Hossenfelder | 1.13M subscribers...

In early 2020, Mandi Fugate Sheffel, 42, opened a tiny bookstore in her hometown of Hazard, in eastern Kentucky. Everyone thought she was crazy. Downtown Hazard was a forbidding place to start any business, much less a bookstore. The coal mines that once supported the area had closed over the past few decades. Many brick buildings from Hazard’s heyday were gone, bequeathing a gap-toothed look to Main Street. The rest were empty or occupied by attorneys and bail bondsmen. What’s more, Fugate Sheffel couldn’t afford a website or employees. She had never run a business before. And she had a...

A green nonprofit that is indirectly funded by a foreign billionaire is pressuring broadcasters to drop advertisements that criticize the Biden administration’s massive electric vehicle (EV) agenda. Climate Power wrote to numerous broadcasters this week demanding that they stop airing American Fuel and Petrochemicals Manufacturers (AFPM)-funded advertisements in swing state markets that rail against President Joe Biden’s plans to impose widespread EV adoption in the coming years. The charitable organization affiliated with Hansjorg Wyss, a Swiss health care mogul and billionaire philanthropist, donates millions of dollars to the Fund for a Better Future, which was the fiscal sponsor for Climate...

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said on Friday that Missouri Gov. Mike Parson used a racial "dog whistle" when the governor said "thugs" were responsible for the shooting. He made the comments while speaking to KCUR host Steve Kraske on the radio program "Up to Date." “I certainly do think this was criminal activity, it’s lawlessness and I think that that’s troubling,” Lucas told Kraske when the radio host asked about the governor's comments. “But ‘thugs’ is a dog whistle in the most classic sense and I have seen this dog whistle time and again.” A "dog whistle" when referred...

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Everything that is happening in the Ukrainian direction is a matter of life and death for Russia, it is the fate of the country, whereas for the West it is only a matter of their tactical position, Russian President Vladimir Putin said. "I think that for ourselves, and even more so for listeners and viewers abroad, it is important to understand the course of our thoughts, to understand our condition, to understand how sensitive and important this is for our country — everything that is happening in the Ukrainian direction. For them [the West], this is an...
