Nixon was aboard the Outlaw Country Cruise, an annual music cruise where he was a co-host and regular performer. “August 2, 1957 — February 7, 2024 Mojo Nixon. How you live is how you should die. Mojo Nixon was full-tilt, wide-open rock hard, root hog, corner on two wheels + on fire…,” his family shared in a statement to Rolling Stone. “Passing after a blazing show, a raging night, closing the bar,...

(The Center Square) — Maine is required to release its voter lists to a conservative group that's conducting audits of recent elections to probe for fraud following a new federal court ruling. A U.S. Court of Appeals ruling in Boston sided with lawyers for the Virginia-based Public Interest Legal Foundation, which filed the lawsuit, who argued that federal law allows data to be available for public inspection. The three-judge panel cited a provision of the National Voter Registration Act requiring public disclosure of "all records concerning the implementation of programs and activities conducted for the purpose of ensuring the accuracy...

Supporters of Russian President Vladimir Putin are suggesting that his upcoming interview with Tucker Carlson could trigger a 'civil war' in the US. Carlson, who confirmed he'll be chatting with Putin soon, said it's his "duty" to keep the public informed about the Ukraine war. Pro-Putin broadcasters have praised Carlson's decision to interview Putin, hinting it could cause internal conflict in the US. One Russian TV commentator exclaimed: "God willing, there will be a civil war!" Political scientist Sergey Mikheyev told Russia-1: "If Tucker dares to broadcast this interview in the US, first and foremost, this will blow up their...

The federal judge overseeing the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump put a damper on Special Counsel Jack Smith’s victory in his separate case in Washington D.C. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday shot down Trump’s bid to dismiss his federal election interference case based on presidential immunity. On the same day, District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, who is overseeing the other case against Trump in Florida, ruled that some discovery material that Smith wanted to keep under seal would be disclosed, reminding him “of the strong presumption of public access in criminal proceedings.” “Following an...

On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) argued that “the only way that immigration ever gets solved as a problem is if Democrats are in charge of the House and the Senate,” like they were from 2021 to 2023, and “we change the rules, and we get something passed with a majority vote.” Murphy said, “I think, for the time being, Republicans are never going to compromise on immigration. I think the only way that immigration ever gets solved as a problem is if Democrats are in charge of the House and the Senate, we change...

San Mateo County recently became the first county in the country to recognize loneliness as a public health emergency. The county Board of Supervisors voted unanimously last week to approve a resolution introduced by Supervisor David Canepa declaring loneliness a health emergency. In the resolution, Canepa outlined several strategies to address loneliness. These include strengthening social infrastructure, implementing pro-connection public policies, mobilizing the health sector, conducting research to deepen knowledge, reforming online environments and fostering a culture of connection. “Many people are suffering alone in silence, and there’s no cure for it,” Canepa said.... Following the resolution, Canepa wrote a...

‘We need to go find out where they live, where they go to church, who they hang around with, and birddog they a----,’ one activist declared to the crowd. Angry radical leftists staged a loud protest outside the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the conservative Heritage Foundation against its “Project 2025,” an initiative that aims to help conservative politicians end the power of the “Deep State” if and when Republicans prevail in the 2024 races for the White House, U.S. Senate, and U.S. House of Representatives. “The permanent bureaucracy and its backers are having conniptions over Project 2025, an endeavor to...

In the intricate dance of economic forecasts and fiscal warnings, the recent release of the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) 10-year Budget and Economic Outlook has cast a shadow over the nation’s financial landscape. Michael A. Peterson, CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, steps into the spotlight with a resounding call for action as he decodes the ominous projections and highlights the pressing need for a bipartisan fiscal commission. As the digits on the deficit ticker continue to climb, Peterson’s warning resonates as a siren in the night, alerting us to the impending storm of unsustainable national debt. Over the...

The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has released a transcript of its impeachment inquiry interview with a representative of Americore, the now-bankrupt healthcare company that loaned presidential brother James Biden hundreds of thousands of dollars before it went under. Carol Fox, the trustee who represented Americore during its bankruptcy proceedings, said she could neither determine what role James Biden played nor identify any paperwork backing up the loans made to him from the struggling company in 2018. According to the transcript of her testimony reviewed by Just the News, Fox told the committee that Biden purportedly provided consulting services...

Trump-aligned GOP consultant Alex Bruesewitz is weighing a primary bid against Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) over his decision to vote against impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, a person close to Bruesewitz first shared with The Hill. Bruesewitz weighed running for Gallagher’s seat last year amid speculation that the congressman would mount a Senate challenge against Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), but Gallagher ultimately opted against running for Baldwin’s seat. Gallagher’s vote against impeaching Mayorkas may have changed that. The person close to Bruesewitz noted that the consultant lives in Palm Beach but is from Gallagher’s district. The person said Bruesewitz...

There has been an almost total media blackout on this story… In fact, the only place I’ve seen it covered is on Twitter/X. Thank you Elon! Basically, a large part of Chile (a tourist city named Valparaiso) has been completely burned to the ground, and the similarities to what happened to Maui are impossible to ignore. The recent wildfires in Chile have caused widespread devastation, claiming at least 112 lives and leaving hundreds more missing. The fires, which have been burning across the country, have prompted the government to declare a state of emergency. One of the most severely affected...

The Senate on Wednesday has devolved into chaos as lawmakers cannot pass legislation that handles the border crisis, aid to Ukraine, or both as a package. Senate Republicans blocked a supplemental spending package that included aid for Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and attempts to increase border security. The bill failed to advance after it did not receive 60 ayes during a procedural vote.

American deaths at the hands of illegal aliens “should not be politicized,” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who is facing impeachment, told the Washington Post this week. In a long profile by the Post, Mayorkas is featured as a victim of attacks by Republican lawmakers. This week, House Republicans fell just shy of the majority needed to approve articles of impeachment against Mayorkas, though leadership has vowed to try again.

Insurance isn’t the sexiest topic to either write or read about, but an extreme weather-driven downtrend of insurance agency availability is tightening the noose on an already suffocating national housing market. The U.S. had its highest number — 28 — of annual billion-dollar weather disasters in 2023, including the Lahaina wildfire, California flooding, and Tropical Cyclone Idalia in Florida, according to a NOAA report. Homeowner insurance agencies’ response to the continually rising costs has either been to drastically increase their insurance rates or to back out from certain areas entirely. The dire situation first made national headlines last year when...

Trillions of gallons of rain have already fallen on the state of California, and more rain continues to fall as I write this article. Billions of dollars in damage has already been done, but of even greater concern is what all of this water could mean for southern California’s fault lines. As you will see below, geophysicists have discovered that the additional weight that flooding puts on fault lines can help trigger earthquakes. Of course we have been warned for many years that “the Big One” is way overdue in southern California, and when it finally happens it will be...

The Russians have warned us over and over again that they will use nuclear weapons if they are forced into a direct war with western powers. So why are most western leaders not taking those threats seriously? Ukraine is not worth fighting a nuclear war over. Both sides would be wise to try to find a peaceful resolution while it is still possible to do so. But instead, we continue to see escalation after escalation. In particular, the Biden administration seems determined to see how close it can go without pushing things completely over the edge. This is very foolish,...

Climate change is driving up more than just Earth's temperature. It's making hurricanes more intense, too, which should make us revisit how we categorize these destructive storms to better warn people at risk in the future, researchers reported in a new study. The researchers recommend adding a Category 6 to the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, which currently ranks powerful tropical storms based on wind speed starting at Category 1 (74 to 95 mph) up to Category 5 (157 mph or higher). The "or higher" for Category 5 storms is where scientists take issue.
