Lawyers are being forced to defend their livelihoods before bar associations and ethics boards — not for obvious misconduct, but after opposing Democrats. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the chaotic 2020 election, leftist organizations began filing ethics and even criminal complaints against lawyers who opposed Democrats in election litigation. Democrats have recently expanded these tactics to lawyers who cross Democrats on any policy area. “Their most sweeping goal is to discourage and chill lawyers from representing Republicans and conservatives, particularly in election law cases. They want to apply a much higher standard to them in order to punish them,” says attorney Jim Bopp...

Daily Readings from the USCCBWhatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed. Mark 6:56It would have been truly awe-inspiring to witness Jesus healing the sick. The people who witnessed this clearly had never seen anything like it before. For those who were sick, or whose loved ones were sick, each healing would have had a powerful effect upon them and upon their whole family. Today, modern science, with its ability to treat...

You know, we make a lot of digs at our elected officials for taking breaks and vacations but when you see legislation like what the Senate crapped out (sorry for the visual but it fits) to supposedly secure our border, it seems like it might be better for ALL of us if they go on vacation and STAY on vacation. Some of these people are either really stupid or really evil. Perhaps we should learn to embrace the power of and.

The Democratic nominee for the special election to replace ousted GOP Rep. George Santos of New York is expressing concern about his chances of winning the swing seat in a district where immigration is top of mind to voters, CNN reported Monday. Former Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi is running against GOP nominee Mazi Melesa Pilip to fill the vacant Long Island seat on Feb. 13 after Santos was expelled in early December over allegations of fraud. Suozzi told CNN that Democrats are “in trouble” in the 3rd congressional district where President Joe Biden won by eight points in 2020.

Bidenomics boosters in the media and on Wall Street are everywhere to be seen these days, selling the election-year idea that our president’s economic policies have somehow triumphantly raised our economy Phoenix-like from the ashes. Nothing could be further from the truth. A sampling of headlines going back to last summer show the adulation for Bidenomics among our supposedly objective economic cognoscenti (Latin for “know-it-alls”): “Bidenomics Is Real Economics,” Time Magazine. “Bidenomics is working,” New York Magazine. And our over-the-top favorite: “Bidenomics’ critics are being proven wrong. Happy days are here again,” Fortune Magazine. We could go on, but why...

Senator James Lankford (R-OK) said Monday on FNC’s “Fox & Friends” that people should read the bipartisan border bill he co-authored before going off on a Facebook post. Lankford said, “People have got to be able to read it and go through it themselves. Don’t just go off of a Facebook post somewhere what the bill says.” He continued, “The key aspect of this, again, is are we, as Republicans, going to have press conferences and complain the borders bad and then intentionally leave it open after the worst month in American history in December? Now we’ve got to actually...

When are 335,000 new jobs not 335,000 new jobs? When Washington makes them up and the media dutifully report them with all due breathlessness. ... The workweek, itself, contracted to 34.1 hours from 34.3 in December and 34.4 in November. This is the lowest number since March 2020 (the pandemic) and, before that, November 2008 (Great Recession)." Rosenberg Research calculated that, despite the job gains, total hours worked actually contracted .. In fact, the Household Survey — "the one the media ignores," as Barone put it — "showed up with a -31K headline jobs number, and a fall of -63K...

Joe Scarborough—recently revealed to be a frequent phone buddy and adviser to Joe Biden—was hard at work on behalf of his man this morning. Morning Joe waited till the end of its first hour to breathe any mention of a new NBC News poll. But even then, Scarborough only discussed the poll's findings showing Americans still dissatisfied about the economy, and expressing much more confidence in Trump's ability to deal with it. There was nary a mention of the headline number of the poll: that among registered voters, Trump is beating Biden by 5 points, his largest lead yet! Get...
