Five members of a Wisconsin police force resigned on the same day - an exodus that represents nearly half of the department. The Village of Big Bend announced the resignations this past week, after officers told brass they were fed-up with a 'toxic' work environment created by the village board. The same board decided to disband the department back in September, a decision that was reversed last month following pressure from locals. However, within that span, the town's longtime police chief, Don Gaglione, suddenly died - and local coroners recently confirmed it was a suicide. The revelation likely added to...

Russian propagandist Rostislav Ishchenko claims that Russia has killed 500,000 Ukrainians. Of note is his repeated use of the word "war" in place of the previous propaganda phrase "special military operation". It can be concluded that Russia is now officially considering their war against Ukraine to be a war. Ishchenko also advocates for killing more Ukrainians. Something our Ruzzian friends on FR would call 'bloodthirsty'.

Nearly 6 in 10 American workers saw their wages grow more quickly than inflation in the past year, according to a new analysis from the Center for American Progress (CAP), a left-leaning think tank. Some 57 percent of workers earned higher inflation-adjusted wages in November compared to one year earlier, the analysis found. This represents a larger share of workers than the average before the COVID-19 pandemic, between 2017 and 2019. “In fact, real wages for a typical worker stand at about the level expected if there had been no pandemic or recession in early 2020 and if they had...

They say age is nothing but a number. That is certainly the case when it comes to Alfredo Aliaga Burdio. The 92-year-old, who currently lives in Berlin, Germany, completed his trek across the Grand Canyon on 15 October 2023, becoming the oldest person to cross the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim on foot (male). Although it was Alfredo’s most historical journey across the Grand Canyon, it certainly wasn’t his first. “I have hiked in the Grand Canyon many times in my life,” he said. After his wife passed away from ALS in 2006, Alfredo decided he wanted to revisit the places where...

WASHINGTON -- The federal government's gross national debt has surpassed $34 trillion, a record high that foreshadows the coming political and economic challenges to improve America's balance sheet in the coming years. The U.S. Treasury Department issued a report Tuesday logging U.S. finances, which have become a source of tension in a politically divided Washington that could possibly see parts of the government shutdown without an annual budget in place. Republican lawmakers and the White House agreed last June to temporarily lift the nation's debt limit, staving off the risk of what would be a historic default. That agreement lasts...

In a startling revelation, the Chinese government disclosed that last year, deaths surpassed births for the first time since the disastrous Great Leap Forward in the 1960s. With 9.56 million births and 10.41 million deaths, the ominous imbalance signals a deepening demographic crisis. China’s birth rate has collapsed completely, marking a stark contrast from the 19.7 million births registered in 2012 to a mere 7.8 million births in 2023. This alarming decline accentuates the severity of the situation.

High home prices and even higher mortgage rates; that’s how most people would describe last year’s housing market—one that by some estimates was the least affordable since the 1980s.It’s simple: Home prices skyrocketed during the pandemic and rose steadily last year despite mortgage rates more than doubling. Those high mortgage rates, having risen from historic lows, kept homeowners from selling, which further exacerbated already tight supply and kept home prices up—all while chilling the housing market. The situation was so dire, and still may be aside from slight improvements in affordability, that Zillow’s chief economist, Skylar Olsen, released her own...

SNIP Rodgers criticized Kimmel on “The Pat McAfee Show,” saying, “There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel, who are really hoping [the list of unsealed names] doesn’t come out,” adding, “If that list comes out, [I] definitely will be popping some sort of bottle.” Kimmel responded to Rodgers on Tuesday, tweeting, “Dear (PROFANITY)[sic] : for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any ‘list’ other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality.” The late night host...
