This is tragic. A 91-year-old dementia sufferer died after foreign care staff at a nursing home in England were unable to communicate with emergency operators. Barbara Rymell died after she fell and got trapped under a stairlift at the Ashley House Residential home in Somerset. The two care staffers who were Romanian and Indian, were unable to tell emergency responders about the victim’s condition because they don’t speak English. According to The Telegraph, the foreign caregivers didn’t know the difference between “the patient being “alive” and “alert”, or “breathing” and “bleeding.” “Their lack of English “severely hampered” the call handler’s...

In a recent development, The Gateway Pundit, one of the top conservative websites in the country today, reported that its access has been blocked on networks within both the United States House of Representatives and the Pentagon. On Thursday, sources from Capitol Hill informed The Gateway Pundit that attempts to access the website from the House network were unsuccessful. A staff member from Congressman Paul Gosar’s office detailed ongoing access problems for the past two weeks. “Wanted to notify you that I have been unable to access the Gateway Pundit on the House network for the past two weeks,” according...

In 1980, state Judge William Newsom, who was the current governor's father, was on an appellate panel that reduced the men's life sentences to give them a chance at parole. He pushed for their release in 2011, after he retired, noting that no one was seriously physically injured during the kidnapping.

After expelling a large number of illegal aliens approximately 20 to 25 years ago, the Japanese government made a firm statement I’ll never forget. “Japan is for Japanese,” Tokyo unabashedly explained. “Others are welcome to come and visit, but they’re expected to go home.” And just like that, Japan exhibited the historical norm: defending your homeland and preserving national cohesion — without hesitation or apology. The West — the modern West — has been a different story. Shortly before his death at age 100, famed diplomat Henry Kissinger warned of immigration’s effects after having witnessed the support for Hamas inside...

Well, this is undoubtedly a net positive! Yesterday, The Daily Mail reported that the “sun is setting on liberal professors in the Sunshine State” as Ron DeSantis’s anti-woke initiatives in education have begun to take effect. From the article:The sun is setting on liberal professors in the Sunshine State as Ron DeSantis’s war on woke starts to bite, with some accusing the governor of ‘open hostility’ to higher education. Turnover has jumped by a quarter in the last two years at the University of Florida after a slew of new laws cracked down on diversity, trans rights and jobs for...

.....“There is nothing more disgusting than rich people who do nothing to undermine the material position of their own class vaguely calling for peace and love,” Fergie wrote on Instagram on November 2. “It gives me actual bloodlust.”“We’re frightened to go out to restaurants, or cafés in town. It’s chilling,” the man in Great Barrington added. He tells me that the police aren’t much help—“they won’t come”—when it comes to Fergie and his followers, and that he’s considering moving towns. (The police declined to comment and directed me to the DA’s office who, through a representative, emailed to say that...

Former congresswoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming is the poster child of a Republican establishment abandoned by the party’s far-right base. Now, she’s billboarding what may come next: In an interview with CBS aired Sunday, Cheney lamented the extent to which the Republican Party had been “co-opted” by Trumpism and said she feared the potential of a vengeful Trump presidency in 2025. “One of the things that we see happening today is a sort of a sleepwalking into dictatorship in the United States,” Cheney said. Cheney’s refusal to accept former president Donald Trump’s false claims that the 2020 election had been...

Gavin Newsom's Republican father-in-law has branded Ron DeSantis a 'lying slimeball' for claiming he and his wife fled California for a better life in Florida. Siebel said he an his wife had moved to Florida from Montana as he had left California in the mid 2010s. Florida governor DeSantis dramatically told viewers: 'So, I was talking to a fella who had made the move from California to Florida, and he was telling me that Florida is much better governed, safer, better budget, lower taxes, all this stuff and he's really happy with the quality of life. 'Saying we moved from...

“The war in Ukraine might be deadly but at least it’s good for Boeing!” That’s the latest message coming from advocates for unending foreign aid to Ukraine as the war with Russia drags on into its third year. The horrifying conflict, with too many scenes like the one below, could have ended more than a year and a half ago. Instead, Western leaders prolonged the conflict over stubborn demands to keep Ukrainian membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on the table, and, apparently, justify spending billions in taxpayer dollars to enrich the military-industrial complex. On Friday, the Washington Post awarded...

At 8pm Brussels time on Thursday, 23 November, as central Dublin was in flames, a senior European Commission official received a phone call from an Irish number. He left the call unanswered as he was out for dinner, but phoned back as soon as the meal was over. “I told them we were available,” said the official. The call was from Coimisiún na Meán. (Media Commission) Why the European Commission should have been a port of call that night reflects the importance of a major piece of EU legislation which is beginning to bite. Ilion, which is a village in Herkimer County, New York, will be losing its facility in March 2024 according to letters sent to union leaders obtained by the Utica Observer-Dispatch. It can’t be understated how big of a deal this is: Ilion is the literal birthplace of Remington, as the company was founded there. They’ve been manufacturing guns there since 1816… which is well over 200 years worth of history. And yes, the facility closure will involve layoffs and swathes of people losing their jobs. As to who should shoulder the blame for this abrupt closure, local Republican lawmakers put...

U.S. Senator Ron Wyden has been working with Idaho Senator Ron Crapo on creating a digital service tax somewhat modeled after Europe. Within Europe there are different models and proposals that target different digital services such as streaming, digital products, software, advertising and collecting consumer information. This means Wyden’s proposal could end up taxing Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and Disney+ for providing digital streaming services to customers. This would be an interesting tax question for how it applies to Amazon Prime, which is primarily a delivery discount service that offers free videos and movies as a secondary benefit to signing...
