Former congresswoman Liz Cheney of Wyoming is the poster child of a Republican establishment abandoned by the party’s far-right base. Now, she’s billboarding what may come next: In an interview with CBS aired Sunday, Cheney lamented the extent to which the Republican Party had been “co-opted” by Trumpism and said she feared the potential of a vengeful Trump presidency in 2025.
“One of the things that we see happening today is a sort of a sleepwalking into dictatorship in the United States,” Cheney said.
Cheney’s refusal to accept former president Donald Trump’s false claims that the 2020 election had been stolen from him — and her decision to publicly rebuke Trump for his role in stoking the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot — got her ostracized from the GOP and cost her the House seat. She has spent the months since campaigning against his potential reelection, to little avail. Trump is the heavy favorite to emerge as the Republican presidential nominee, no matter the slew of legal cases against him and even the prospect of imprisonment.
In her CBS interview, Cheney said a Trump victory could mark the end of the American republic. “He’s told us what he will do,” she said. “It’s very easy to see the steps that he will take.”

They’re such fakers.
The Marxists are trying to make 2024 all about Trump and not about Meat Puppet.
The left loves this lunatic. Like we aren’t living in a brain dead dictatorship now.
Once again, the left telegraphs their intentions for America by trying to accuse conservatives of the deeds.
IF LIZ CHENEY is YOUR BEST SOURCE for anything that happens in the future-—
You Might as well check yourself out NOW.
SHE IS NUTS.
If, or rather when, Trump is re-elected he will leave office at the end of his second four year term.
All this talk of a Trump dictatorship is just to drum up support for violence in the streets when Trump becomes president.
Those who have come down with TDS, if they really believe that they will die before Trump leaves office, then they will be desperate and willing to go to extremes.
The Washington Post is inciting future riots. This is the one form of speech that is, and should be, illegal.
They claimed that very thing when he was in office.
These people are insane.
The Washington Post is controlled by a bunch of dictators. If they're with you, they don't preface statements with "false claims". If they're against you, they preface all your statements with "lies", "false claims", "untrue" ... etc.
Remember, the leftists are the true dictators. Conservatives on the right are battling against leftist liars who are no better than Hamas.
Where is the WaPo’s proof of no 2020 election shenanigans, especially in the big ‘Rat cities in the 6 suspect States.
Actually, we have gone down the rabbit hole so far already, it is going to take a dictator to clean this mess up by imposing martial law and rounding up all the quislings in our government and the media and various other institutions.
Personally I think they should all be exiled to Afghanistan so they can suffer til they die.
When is someone in the GOP going to go after Crazy Liz?
The entire GOP Congress needs to go full on attack on Liz.
The “Trump dictatorship” they fear is where he takes a chainsaw to the politically biased FBI and DOJ and other agencies that are determined to destroy America.
The traitors are worried. IF IT COMES TO PASS [which is a big unknown in my book], these scumbags should be tarred and feathered, bankrupted, and sent to exile to Gaza so they can fight the enemies they really want to fight.
George Washington was not a dictator, and he put down tyranny.
This is the most ridiculous thing. He was already president for four years and he mostly let Dems run the show.
