CV NEWS FEED // Bishop David Ricken of the Diocese of Green Bay denounced the inclusion of a Satanic Christmas tree in the National Railroad Museum’s Festival of Trees, calling it “offensive” and harmful to “the unity and joy that the Christmas season brings.” The bishop’s Tuesday press release came after the Satanic Temple of Wisconsin’s tree garnered national attention and Wisconsin Republican Rep. Mike Gallagher publicly opposed the display. “Allowing a traditional understanding of Christmas to be usurped and desecrated by an organization/cult is divisive during a time of the year that we come together in unity as a...

"God . . . has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high" (Heb. 1:1-3). Christ is superior to everyone and everything. The book of Hebrews was addressed to an audience composed of Jewish Christians, Jewish non-Christians who were intellectually convinced about Jesus but...

Cosmopolitan, often referred to as Cosmo, is an international fashion and lifestyle magazine for women. It covers a wide range of topics, including fashion, beauty, relationships, sex, health, and career advice. But Cosmo is also a radically leftist rag that has a long history of promoting abortion. And it’s latest promotional is way, way beyond the pale. On its Instagram, Cosmo is promoting a “satanic abortion” ritual to empower women getting abortions. Apparently killing babies somehow makes women’s lives better and makes them more powerful. Cosmo celebrates satanic “abortion ceremonies” and touts how they are customizable for women and gives...

Eighteen states, along with several pro-life and religious liberty advocacy organizations, have united in support of a Seattle-area church in friend-of-the-court-briefs filed with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. Alliance Defending Freedom attorneys appealed to the court on behalf of Cedar Park Church after a lower court ruled that the church must violate its constitutionally protected, pro-life religious beliefs and abide by the state’s mandate that most Washington employers provide abortion coverage for employees. In July 2021, the 9th Circuit reversed the district court’s initial decision to dismiss Cedar Park Church’s case, filed after Washington state Senate...

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Several stores at the location where George Floyd was killed by Minneapolis police in 2020 have sued the city, accusing it of neglecting the area and hurting business. The lawsuit, filed in mid-November in state court, also names Mayor Jacob Frey and other officials and accuses the city of not properly policing the area since Floyd’s death. It also accuses the city of blocking the intersection that is now known as George Floyd Square with concrete barriers for more than a year after Floyd's death, keeping customers from entering. The combination has turned the area into a...

The futuristic-looking Cybertruck is the first electric vehicle Tesla offers that isn’t a sedan and marks the company’s entry into the growing EV pickup market, joining rivals like Ford and Rivian. One advantage Elon Musk promises the Cybertruck has over the competition? It's bulletproof.

According to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, there were over 9,400 encounters with illegal aliens at the US southern border in the last 24 hours. Of those, over 5,800 were released into the United States, according to CBP sources who spoke to Bill Melugin. Many of the encounters were in Tucson, Arizona where about 3,000 illegals were caught entering the country. Tucson, Arizona is being overrun by illegal aliens thanks to Joe Biden’s open borders policies. Border Patrol agents in Arizona are overwhelmed by illegals. Human smugglers and coyotes working for the Mexican cartels have recently diverted tens of thousands...

Scientists have discovered that the circadian clock regulates axonal regeneration and repair. The authors found that DRG sensory neurons have an endogenous molecular clock that optimizes axonal regeneration in a mouse model of sciatic nerve injury. The researchers also demonstrated that axonal regeneration can be promoted using chrono-active drugs, such as lithium, which is currently used in clinics for treating neurological disorders. These findings pave the way for the use of clock-associated therapies and timed neurorehabilitation for people with Peripheral Nervous System (PNS) injuries. Dr. Francesco De Virgiliis said, "Our study shows that the circadian clock regulates axonal regeneration, and...

The latest ranking of America’s best universities is here, perfectly timed for the approaching admissions season.“Best” is of course subjective, and U.S. News and World Report has compiled 19 metrics on which they evaluated more than 400 national universities. Some of them include:Graduation rates & performance: A four-year rolling average of the proportion of each entering class earning a bachelor’s degree in six years or less. Performance is measured against predictions made by the publishers, and when beaten, the university gains a higher scoring.Peer assessment: A two-year weighted average of ratings from top academics—presidents, provosts and deans of admissions—on academic...

The Obama administration, just 17 days before the inauguration of President Donald Trump, revised the guidelines of Section 2.3 of Executive Order 12333, "Procedures for the Availability or Dissemination of Raw Signals Intelligence Information by the National Security Agency."Although widely overlooked, the implications were broad and far-reaching.Under the new procedure, agencies and individuals could request the National Security Agency (NSA) for access to specific surveillance simply by claiming the intercepts contain relevant information that's useful to a particular mission. No privacy protection of the raw data was undertaken. Under the new rules, sharing of information was significantly easier–and the information being...

The century intervening from the fall of Napoleon in 1815 to the beginning of the First World War in 1914 is usually regarded as a sort of golden age for Prusso-German militarism. In this period, the Prussian military establishment won a series of spectacular victories over Austria and France, establishing an aura of German military supremacy and realizing the dream of a unified Germany through force of arms. Prussia in this era also produced three of history’s iconic military personalities - Carl von Clausewitz (a theoretician), Helmuth von Moltke (a practitioner), and Hans Delburk (a historian). As the story usually...

When an investment looks like a bad risk, you take your money out of it. When your whole country’s economy looks like a bad risk you do the same thing. And that’s what wealthy Chinese citizens have been doing, stealthily moving their money abroad even though there is a potential risk of going to jail for violating laws against such moves.Since international borders reopened post-pandemic, advisers to the rich report a surge in demand for overseas backup options. Crackdowns on ideologically out-of-favor industries, uncertainty over geopolitical tensions and Xi Jinping’s push for “common prosperity” have spooked the rich and even...

The talking heads at the alphabet networks now have yet another inconvenient bit of data to either ignore or try to explain away as “not a smoking gun” in the ongoing saga of Biden Inc. I previously wrote about a shady $40,000 check that the President received from his brother Jim and his wife for our VIP subscribers and nothing about that transaction looked remotely normal. It turns out that I wasn’t the only one who had questions. A money-laundering investigator who worked for one of the banks handling the series of massive cash transfers leading to that “loan repayment”...

Sky News is doing the work that our own MSM refuses to do. Ever since it emerged, the origins of COVID should have been one of the top two or three stories in the world. After all, the disease itself was ravaging the world, the responses to the virus were doing even more damage, and the people in charge of responding to the virus were, at the very least, suspects in the case. Yet even discussion of the possibility of a lab leak was suppressed, and anybody who brought up the possibility was labeled a conspiracy theorist. Social media sites...
