Proving that, at least in some corners of the world, actions still have consequences, another big-name law firm has announced that it revoked job offers provided to law students after they signed on to pro-Hamas statements in the wake of barbaric attacks that saw more than one thousand Israelis slaughtered by the Iran-backed terrorists. The U.S.-based international law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell — described by The Daily Beast as "revered" — said on Tuesday that it had revoked its employment offers to three law students from Harvard and Columbia citing the students' "contravention of our firm's value system"...

DEAR ABBY: I’m a lesbian. My wife and I have been married for nine years, but since COVID and my mother’s death, we have had problems. I met a man online; he’s an actor. We grew close via the internet. When my wife found out, we fought, and this man and I haven’t been as close. Although we mended our relationship and I love her, I seem to always wonder. About a year ago, I got hit on by another actor on Instagram, and we also grew close until my wife found out. I stopped, but I still maintain contact...

A Starbucks barista’s secret note on a cup to a young female customer offering to “intervene” after a man started talking to her has generated heated debate online. Texas woman Brandy Selim Roberson first shared the story in a viral Facebook post last year. She praised the employee for stepping in when her 18-year-old daughter was approached by a man she didn’t know while studying by herself at a Corpus Christi location. The message on the cup read, “Are you okay? Do you want us to intervene? If you do, take the lid off the cup.” SNIP Author Rachel Wilson...

Douglass Mackey, who ran a Twitter account with over 58,000 followers, was sentenced to seven months in prison Wednesday for a meme he shared on social media during the 2016 election. Mackey was convicted by a jury in March of conspiring to deprive others of their right to vote, which carried a potential sentence of up to 10 years. The meme that led to his conviction was a fake flier encouraging Clinton supporters to vote from home via text message. “Avoid the line. Vote from home,” it stated. “Text ‘Hillary’ to 59925. Vote for Hillary and be a part of...

An Israeli TV station has released new footage which it says appears to show rockets fired over a hospital in Gaza just moments before an explosion killed hundreds last night. It comes after Israel's military shared footage and analysis which they say shows they were not responsible for the horrifying blast at the Al-Ahli Hospital on Tuesday. A video clip from a livestream, aired by Israel's Channel 12 News, shows a salvo of rockets being launched before explosions rock an area claimed to be the medical centre.

The Squad is at it again. AOC is now calling for an immediate ceasefire but when pushed, by CNN of all outlets, her response was, how should I say, completely outside the realm of reality. She was asked "What is Israel supposed to do about Hamas after they've murdered, brutalized, abducted over a thousand of their citizens? Are they supposed to do nothing?" Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spends almost three minutes trying to explain her calls for a "ceasefire" after Hamas terrorists brutally massacred innocent Israelis and it does not go well pic.twitter.com/qkQ30jSIuG— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) October 17, 2023It took her 3...

The FBI has finally released homicide data for 2022. In 2021, there was a huge decline in the number of police departments participating. The FBI made good on their promise to boost the number again in 2022. The 2022 includes data from 83.2% of law enforcement agencies. This is up from only 69.7% in 2021. However, it is still less than the 88.9% that participated in 2020. Homicide Victims: Black: 55.9% White/Latino/Other: 41.1% Asians: 1.5% American Indians: 1.4% Hawaiian Natives: 0.2% Note that “White” includes Latinos, North Africans, Middle Easterners, Central Asians, and others. Basically the term “Whites” means anyone...

The New York Times reportedly edited a headline twice on Tuesday about a blast that blew up a Gaza hospital, changing the title each time to reflect less blame against Israel for the tragic explosion. After the blast, multiple pieces of evidence emerged from the Israel Defense Forces and the media that suggested the blast was an errant rocket fired by Hamas, not an Israeli airstrike. As the evidence came to light, the Times altered its headline.

It’s not quite a replacement for diesel RVs, but the latest all-electric camper van from Grounded is getting there. The G2 claims a fully loaded range of 250 miles from its 165kWh vehicle battery, which easily trumps the Grounded G1’s range of 108 miles. It can be configured with up to 640W of rooftop solar and a hefty 10kWh house battery that can be charged from the main battery. It’s not cheap, with a starting price of $195,000, but living in the future never is. “The G2 is radically different from any other offering on the market,” said Grounded CEO...

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) suffered another loss in the Speaker’s race Wednesday, failing to win the gavel on a second ballot of voting after a growing number of Republicans declined to support his bid. Twenty-two Republicans withheld support from Jordan. The vote was 199 for Jordan, 212 for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), five for former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and seven for House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.). Ten people voted for someone else. The GOP opposition was less than what some Republicans — including Jordan allies — had predicted, but the tally is nonetheless...

[Catholic Caucus] Dumb, Blasphemous Pope Plays Everly Brothers And Fails. We have arrived to the point where that extremely fat cretin unworthily having the job that once was Peter’s cannot express himself about God unless it is by spouting a series of literally idiotic statements, which are somewhere between borderline blasphemous and utterly irreverent. The guy thinks and talks in cheap platitudes, the kind of drivel that does not mean absolutely anything but is meant to make extremely superficial, appallingly ignorant people feel all fuzzy inside. If you don’t believe it (but I am so, so sure you do!) check here....

Housing in the US is simply unaffordable! Under Bidenomics, home prices are up 30% while real weekly earnings growth has been negative for most of Biden’s Presidency. And mortgage rates are up 178% under Bidenomics. Sky-high mortgage rates and still-rising home prices have made it harder than ever to afford a home, especially for first-time buyers. The typical buyer needs to earn 15% more than they did a year ago–and wages are only up 5%. It’s harder than ever for Americans to afford a home. A homebuyer must earn $114,627 to afford the median-priced U.S. home, up 15% ($15,285) from...

Gov. Kathy Hochul pressed the White House on more funding and added staffing to deal with the migrant crisis — while conceding the deportation of Venezuelans has led to a decrease in asylum seekers at the border. “We hope that Congress, once they have leadership in the House, they will be able to take this up,” Hochul said of federal assistance just hours after her sitdown with White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients.

SCRANTON, Pa. — President Biden has long touted his roots in this former coal-mining town, where he was born and lived for the first decade of his life. But a little more than a year before voters will determine whether the 80-year-old commander-in-chief will receive a second four-year term of office, denizens of Scranton’s Biden Street don’t feel so proud of their most famous native son.
