Below is my column in the New York Post in response to the attack this week by Harvard Professor Laurence Tribe. I am honestly saddened by the ad hominem attacks that have become common place with many academics like Tribe. There was a time when legal disagreements could be passionate but not personal. The use of personal insults and vulgar trash talking were avoided in our profession. Now even law deans have called Supreme Court justices “hacks” to the delight of their followers. I have always said that there are good-faith arguments on both sides of the 14th Amendment theory...

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said he was “totally surprised” by the revelation that a Georgia grand jury recommended that he be criminally charged over efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.“What I did was consistent with my job as being a U.S. senator, chair of the Judiciary Committee,” Graham told reporters in South Carolina on Friday. “I think the system in this country is getting off the rails and we have to be careful not to use the legal system as a political tool.”

R&B singer Akon may have been born in the United States, but he wants to go back to his roots — which, to him, means constructing a city in his family’s ancestral home of Senegal, which he describes as a “real-life Wakanda.” Ordinarily, I’d just think this was some idle talk by someone not in compos mentis. After all, one of Akon’s best-known songs was a collaboration with enthusiastic marijuana endorser Snoop Dogg (“I Wanna Love You”), so maybe Akon’s been hitting the wacky tobaccky a bit too often. However, nothing short of megadoses of LSD could possibly have produced...

Edward Teller, the father of the Hydrogen bomb, received a Nobel Prize for peace in 1991 and was rumoured to be an inspiration for Dr Strangelove. He died in Stanford on the 9th of September, 2003. Teller believed: "Life improves slowly and goes wrong fast, and only catastrophe is clearly visible." His thought provoking words are good enough for me to call him an Indigenous Man Of Anglosphere (IMOTA) but I am not if I admire him. Only God is omniscient.

These luminaries were more than architects of a nation; they were visionaries whose convictions were deeply intertwined with their faith. Tech billionaire Elon Musk has said that he prevented a Ukrainian attack on a Russian Navy base last year by declining Kyiv's request to activate internet access in the Black Sea near Moscow-annexed Crimea. Satellite internet service Starlink, operated by Musk-owned company SpaceX, has been deployed in Ukraine since shortly after it was invaded by Russia in February 2022. "There was an emergency request from government authorities to activate Starlink all the way to Sevastopol. The obvious intent being to sink most of the Russian fleet at anchor," Musk posted Thursday on X, formerly named Twitter. "If I had agreed...

THE approaching net zero ban on petrol and diesel vehicles could put Europe’s car firms at disadvantage compared with China. Speaking to the Financial Times ahead of the annual IAA Mobility conference in Munich, Oliver Zipse, BMW’s chief executive, warned that European electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers could not compete with China over prices. European Union plans to eliminate combustion engine vehicles are not welcomed by the car industry, which provides direct and indirect work for almost 14 million people.
