Two Catholic universities have some of the worst climates for free speech in the United States, according to a recently released report that analyzed more than 250 campuses, most of which continue to maintain lackluster free speech protections. The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, formerly the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, released its 2024 College Free Speech Rankings on Wednesday.The research is based on interviews with 55,102 students from 254 colleges and universities conducted between Jan. 13 and June 23.
