The longest running television series of the 20th century was Gunsmoke, a western set in the notorious Dodge City, Kansas. Malcolm sweeps away mountains of legal scholarship to make a bold claim: The simplest explanation for the Supreme’s Court’s puzzling run of gun rights decisions may be that the justices watched too much Gunsmoke when they were growing up

[Catholic Caucus] Barcelona: One New SeminarianThe seminary of Barcelona Archdiocese (2M Catholics, 300 priests) will have a single admission for the coming academic year. Simultaneously, Francis is waging a war against the "conservative" party of the Novus Ordo Church (e.g. Opus Dei), which has provided the archdiocese with many seminarians. GerminansGerminavit.Blogspot (September 5) compares Monsignor Salvador Bacardit, 71, the rector of the seminary, to a chameleon who one day appears in shorts at a conference of anti-Catholic priests and the next day is seen in clericals surrounded by his seminarians but credits him with good manners and a conciliatory character...

One of the things the left does is to maintain institutions or rules but pervert their purpose and meaning. At the federal level, the Biden administration wants to take a law meant to ensure that pregnant women are made comfortable at work (e.g., more breaks, appropriate clothes, etc.) and say that one of the things that makes them comfortable is abortion. In California, they’re busy redefining child abuse. That once meant physically injuring a child or engaging in extreme emotional abuse (e.g., “you’re a subhuman maggot” type of stuff). Soon, though, “child abuse” in California may mean “misgendering” your child....

CNN is now calling it “anti-gay” if you prosecute somebody who has sex with a child or a disabled person. That’s what’s currently unfolding in Uganda, where two men are currently being charged with unlawful sex with child and a disabled person — crimes that could result in the death penalty. CNN, instead of expressing immediate outrage over these crimes, turned their article into a “victim’s advocate” piece, forgetting that the real victim here is the child.Instead of showing immediate outrage over these crimes, CNN twisted their article into a “victim’s advocate” piece, completely overlooking the fact that the real...

Romanian authorities have launched an investigation after admitting they may have found debris from a Russian drone inside their borders Romania has admitted it has found possible drone debris on its territory two days after Ukraine said a Russian drone had detonated on the NATO member's land. Fox News host Tucker Carlson talks about the Kennedy assassination and the resignation of Richard Nixon:TUCKER CARLSON: Joe Biden alone is responsible for this crime. He alone took home classified documents. He didn't have help in doing that, but allowing the country to be invaded, that's not something you can do by yourself. So, if Biden were to be taken down for opening the southern border, a lot of other people would go with them. He had a lot of accomplices. Permanent Washington doesn't want that and ultimately and here's the point: Permanent Washington is in charge. It's not the...

Ex-Obama adviser David Axelrod was struck dumb by President Joe Bidne’s dismal approval numbers on CNN conceding “the country is in a sour mood’ due to Biden’s abject failures and that Joe is in ‘deep, deep trouble.’ CNN anchor Poppy Harlow said Biden’s numbers are bad while former Biden Communications Director Kate Bedingfield tried to spin the numbers but failed. DAVID AXELROD: Yeah. Poppy, I heard you say they were fascinating. I forget what the other word you used. I’m not so sure that’s how the president will receive them over his morning coffee this morning. These these numbers are...

An illustration of early humans hunting an elephant using spears. (courtesy Tel Aviv University) When elephants started disappearing from the Middle East some 400,000 years ago, it was a major crisis, and not just for the ancient elephants. Early humans across the region, including in what is now Israel, depended on elephants for their diet. Eventually, humans adapted, learning how to hunt smaller prey such as bison, deer and gazelles, until those, too, disappeared from the landscape or their numbers were too small to hunt. This forced humans to adapt to even smaller prey such as rabbits and birds, and,...

With the anniversary of January 6th having passed earlier this month, Donald Trump’s claim that he requested national guard troops ahead of that day has been scrutinized by the so-called “fact checkers” once again. While a number have been published in recent weeks, I’ll be addressing Politifact’s from last year, as I’ve made a habit of specifically going after their godawful “fact checks.” Sports reporter turned pretend fact checker Tom Kertscher attempted to fact check Donald Trump’s claim that he “requested 10,000 national guard troops for January 6th, which Pelosi denied.” Trump first made the claim during a February 28,...

Last week, we reported about a whistleblower who shared a Facebook page Michigan clerks used to discuss issues they faced related to elections. The conversations we found between city and county clerks and, in at least one case, a top election official working for MI SOS Jocelyn Benson appear to be very telling of how Michigan’s dishonest Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson really runs her elections. On August 1, 2020, only three days before the August 4 Primary Election in Michigan, a Michigan city clerk asked fellow clerks if they were also getting “last minute voter registrations from SOS Jocelyn...

The House Homeland Security Committee released the findings of the second part of their probe Thursday into Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, finding he “enriched the cartels,” according to a copy of the report obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. Under Mayorkas’ leadership as DHS secretary, cartels have gained more control over the southern border and smuggled more individuals and contraband across it, according to the report. The first phase of House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green’s probe focused on Mayorkas’ alleged “dereliction” of his duty as secretary of DHS.

Thousands of parents in Mexico took to the streets last week to burn education materials that featured “Marxist-communist” indoctrination from the country’s department of education. The Financial Times reported that one of the officials behind the push to indoctrinate children in Mexico was “a former Venezuelan government official.” The books were woke, filled with “hard-to-follow material full of errors, a lack of basic language and mathematical exercises and irrelevant or highly age-inappropriate content.” The books were so controversial that some governors in the country have refused to distribute them as they demonize capitalism and neoliberalism. Fox News reported that at...

A cash boost of hundreds of millions of dollars and more control of land in the occupied West Bank are among Palestinian demands in the event of a three-way deal involving the US, Saudi Arabia and Israel, the BBC has learned. Officials from the Palestinian Authority (PA) held talks in Riyadh with Saudi counterparts on Wednesday. They were also due to see US officials. The Americans are long thought to have been pushing for a landmark pact to normalise Israel-Saudi ties. It would be underwritten by Washington and would include a major security deal the Saudis want to achieve with...
