I am suspending my campaign for Governor.
To my family, staff, friends, and supporters, I am deeply sorry for mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past.
I will fight the serious, false allegations that have been made — but that’s my fight, not a campaign’s.

I was really hoping he'd stay in the race and split the votes to better ensure Bianco and Hilton are on the top of the ticket.
This would've not only ensured a Republican governor for California but would've had the secondary outcome of deflating Dem turnout for the down-ballot congressional races crucial to the party in flipping the House.
My guess is that they’re trying to clear the deck for Katie Porter.

Totally agree. This is the Dems doing what they do best, rigging things for their desired outcome. I will be shocked if Hilton manages a win, but I’m frequently wrong, so there’s that.

This is the EXACT reason that Swalwell was torched by his own party. They couldn’t care less about Swalwell’s daliances. They couldn’t care less which dem becomes governor. But they ABSOLUTELY COULD NOT allow there to be no dem on top of the ticket when all House districts in the state have been newly redrawn!!!

They saw the risk of Republicans being the top two, so they made the hard decision to sacrifice him for the good of the party. Doesn’t matter if he’s guilty or innocent, his campaign had to be terminated one way or the other.
Watch the serious accusations disappear by the end of the year.
