Ukrainian forces have made “notable progress” in their counteroffensive over the last 72 hours, notching wins against the second line of Russian defenders, a White House spokesman, John F. Kirby, said at a news conference on Friday. The United States, Mr. Kirby said, will not discuss Ukraine’s war plans, or how its forces would exploit their gains. But, he added, the U.S. expects Ukraine to continue to push further south, requiring “tough fighting ahead.” Ukraine’s military celebrated a tactical victory earlier this week when its forces retook the southern village of Robotyne. Days later, Ukrainian assault units moved east toward...

One would risk being disgusted if one saw politics, justice, and one’s dinner in the making. – Nicolas de Chamfort (1741–1794) Barely able to conceal their disdain, the invited guests squeezed through the sea of MAGA caps and blue Trump flags filling the hallway on their way to the registration table. Once handed their credentials, they could escape the red-shirted throng outside into the civilized safety of the meeting room, where their respectable colleagues awaited them, to transact the business of the day. It was clear that the pro-Trump crowd outside would remain outside, their presence not welcome within the...

Japan's Rapidus broke ground on its IIM-1 plant in Hokkaido on Friday, kicking off a flurry of hiring as the foundry upstart races to bring its 2nm wafer fab online by 2025. During the ceremony, the company revealed they have already hired more than 200 people to bring the facility online on schedule, according to a Bloomberg report. The government-backed foundry got its start a little over a year ago in a bid to compete with TSMC, Samsung Electronics, and Intel. It aims to roll out with mass-produced chips based on 2nm process technology by 2027, with pilot production slated...

When it comes to US government employee satisfaction with IT services, one agency finds itself continually at the bottom of the heap: The rather crucial Department of Defense. Results from the General Services Administration's (GSA) Mission-Support Customer Satisfaction Survey published on Wednesday found the DoD was trailing the other 23 US federal government agencies included in the research. Of the seven technology user areas surveyed, the DoD came dead last in user satisfaction for IT support, equipment, function, and communication/collaboration. The DoD didn't fare much better in the three areas it wasn't scraping the bottom, either. For strategic IT partnerships...

Extreme rainfall responsible for an 8% fall in rice crop yields over past two decades, exacerbating food insecurity concerns Over the past four decades, China has made significant achievements in maintaining food security through institutional reforms, technological progress and increased investment in public agricultural infrastructure. Between 1978 and 2022, the total quantity of agricultural output grew at the rate of 4.5% per year — more than four times the population growth over the same period. In 2022, China’s total grain output reached a historical high of 686.53 million tonnes, substantially boosting its domestic food supply. But China still faces considerable...

The Biden administration will for the first time send controversial armor-piercing munitions containing depleted uranium to Ukraine, according to a document seen by Reuters and separately confirmed by two U.S. officials. The rounds, which could help destroy Russian tanks, are part of a new military aid package for Ukraine set to be unveiled in the next week. The munitions can be fired from U.S. Abrams tanks that, according to a person familiar with the matter, are expected be delivered to Ukraine in the coming weeks.

The top Democrat in the House of Representatives "vigorously" endorsed "Squad" Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., for re-election amid the congresswoman's criticism of a pro-Israel political action committee (PAC). House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., threw his support behind Omar on Wednesday, "vigorously" endorsing the "Squad" Democrat with a long history of controversial comments about Israel. "Rep. Omar has been elected by her constituents three times and has consistently stood up for them, including through her service on the House Budget Committee," Jeffries said in a statement. "As House Democratic Leader, I vigorously endorse her re-election and stand with her as...

Revs. Abel Arroyo (he/they) & Matt Zemanick (he/they) operate the podcast Chatoic Bisexual Text Study, which exists to “discuss the Bible and our times as Bi/Pan/Queer” folks. Both are ‘pastors’ within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) with Arroyo being the Assistant to the Bishop for Faith Formation & In-house Theologian for the Southwest California Synod, and Zemanick being the Program Director for the Lutheran Disaster Response, along with his other regular pastoral duties. During a recent episode of their show, the two budding socialists claim that the gospel is not best summarized as “Jesus died for your sins”...

It’s not just prissy European tennis players who can’t stand it. Every single person who visits New York City is disgusted by our unofficial new scent: marijuana. And the truth is, so are most sane New Yorkers. As The Post reported on Friday’s front page, everywhere you go in the five boroughs now reeks of pot. Expense-account restaurants such as Nobu 57 and ritzy stores like Saks Fifth Avenue have the musty whiff of a college dorm room. Puffing stoners are turning the subway’s 123 into CBD. Even the US Open in Flushing Meadows is practically an open-air drug market....

Former Attorney General Bill Barr rejected Trump's contention that the multiple prosecutions he faces are illegal election interference, saying "putting his opponents on trial is a matter of a president's executive privilege. Trump's failure to use this privilege against Biden in 2020 was his own fault. Crying about it now is just 'sour grapes.'" "I think a case could be made that it is Trump's insistence on running for president that is the real election interference," Barr added. "Is there anyone who believes that if Trump had taken his 2020 defeat like a man and retired to private life he...

It’s no surprise that the Communist Party USA is promoting the September 17th March to End Fossil Fuels in New York City. Anything which weakens the United States is on their agenda. Meanwhile, the march is being held in conjunction with the U.N. Climate Ambition Summit, “the goal of which is to get world leaders to phase out fossil fuels.” This “goal,” if achieved, would destroy the United States. In the same way the United Nations is demanding trillions in reparations from the United States over slavery, the U.N. will be demanding trillions in “climate reparations” over capitalism. In fact, a...

The public is mostly unaware of the danger surrounding classified programs like Geoengineering. Kidnapping, homelessness, accusations of “drug addiction,” internet defamation, murder and mayhem sound decidedly unscientific. Had UNconventional Grey come out in 2016—just four years before the global CV-19 medical / Big Pharma psyop run by the United Nations (UN), World Economic Forum (WEF), and World Health Organization (WHO)—would people have been awake enough to realize what it meant?UNconventional Grey builds a picture of how Geoengineering—not the “climate change” cover story—leads straight to the UN “sustainable development” / carbons / Agenda 21 / 2030 master plan. In fact, Geoengineering...

Life.Church in Edmond, OK, recently continued its At the Movies campaign with a Super Mario Brothers theme, decorating their church to make it look like the Mushroom kingdsom and crafting a sermon based around the adventures of Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Princess Preach, and various other stray Koopa that may make it into a sermon illustration. It’s not a one-off for the 85,000-member, seeker-sensitive, multi-site-based Oklahoma church that has 40 locations, but rather something they do every year. Led by Craig Groeschel, the pastor and lead visionary who is an awful preacher and habitual scripturetwister, and who recently launched the metaverse...

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., trashed supporters of former President Donald Trump in an interview with Bloomberg Television, claiming they’re people who either don’t value the dignity of "every person" or are "afraid" of change. She added that the "malignancy of Trump" is a "cancerous situation" in America and urged the Republican Party to "remember its heritage." Pelosi made her dig on Trump and his supporters while speaking to Bloomberg reporter Francine Lacqua in Venice, Italy, on Thursday. Lacqua mentioned that Pelosi "stood up against President Trump many times" while he was in office. "I didn't stand up to...

The Army and Marine Corps units that rushed to Afghanistan in August 2021 to oversee the evacuation of more than 124,000 civilians from Kabul in roughly two weeks will receive the Presidential Unit Citation, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced on Thursday. Troops will be able to wear the award if they were assigned to those units for those missions. But some troops told Task & Purpose that the unit awards should be paired with further individual awards for so-far unacknowledged acts of heroism by individual service members. Awarded for extraordinary heroism on vital missions, the Presidential Unit Citation is the...
