The problems with Special Counsel Jack Smith's indictment against former and potentially future President Donald Trump keep coming up. On Thursday afternoon, not long before Trump was arraigned in Washington D.C., CBS News' Catherine Herridge reviewed some curious information, which is that Smith may not have reviewed records before indicting. Trump entered a not guilty plea to the four charges brought against him to do with conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.NEW: Lawyer for ex-NYPD commissioner Bernard Kerik says special counsel...

For discussion. I have wondered if the Espionage Act covers ex Presidents in regard to their Presidential Records. In my opinion there may be a serious argument that they may not be governed by the Esionage Act based on the following… 1) prior to the implementation of the Presidential Records Act (PRA passed in 1978 implemented in 1981), ex Presidents routinely took possession of their Presidential records. (From National Archives website “Prior to the Presidential Records Act of 1978, which first applied to President Reagan, all of the official records of the White House were considered the personal property of...

(T)he idea Obama was no longer concerned with power or involved with power was itself part of a new set of myths being woven by and around the ex-president. First, the Obamas never left town. Instead, they bought a large brick mansion in the center of Washington’s Kalorama neighborhood...By (2019), it was clear to any informed observer that the Obamas’ continuing presence in the nation’s capital was not purely a personal matter. To an extent that has never been meaningfully reported on, the Obamas served as both the symbolic and practical heads of the Democratic Party shadow government that “resisted”...

(The initial headline I was working with was “… doesn’t understand it.” But, upon reflection, I changed it because, in fact, the liberal ruling class and media does understand it at the elite level; they just don’t care because they pursue their own interests not aligned with the populations’ whom they govern. Hence the new title: “… doesn’t care to understand it.”)The Majority Report — which bills itself as an ultra-progressive dissident media outlet but in fact merely repackages MSNBC-style Democrat Party talking points for a millennial/zoomer audience — recently brought on a PhD candidate from the University of Toronto...

More than 2,500 stone and shell beads strewn across the child's upper body, along with a double-holed stone pendant positioned behind the neck and a mother-of-pearl ring laying on the chest, originally formed the impressive necklace, archaeologist Hala Alarashi and colleagues report August 2 in PLOS ONE. ...The bottlenose dolphin is thought to have washed up on an ancient shoreline after the last Ice Age.Archaeologists have described the prehistoric discovery in Causewayhead, Stirling, as "the find of a lifetime".The father-of-four said he recognised the dolphin's skull by its long snout, rows of teeth and unmistakable shape. The bones were preserved in clay, around 80cm below the current ground level, for what is thought to have been up to 8,000 years. With them was a broken tool made from deer antler, which would have been used to carve the meat.It is thought the dolphin was made into a meal by...

Deleted strategy papers from CEFC China Energy – a Chinese Communist Party-run company where Hunter Biden served as Managing Director – detailed plans for China to “surpass” America as the “world’s leading country” while coordinating forms of “warfare” to influence other countries away from viewing the Chinese Communist Party as a “threat.” CEFC China Energy recently made headlines following a New York Post exposè highlighting how Hunter Biden leveraged his father’s name to ink deals with the Chinese government-linked entity, and several whistleblowers have confirmed these accounts. The company, founded by the now-missing Chinese tycoon Ye Jianming, has been identified...

(Daily readings from the USCCB)Jesus came to his native place and taught the people in their synagogue. They were astonished and said, “Where did this man get such wisdom and mighty deeds?” Matthew 13:54Today’s Gospel goes on to say that the people in Jesus’ hometown of Nazareth took offense at Him, which led Jesus to say, “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and in his own house.” It is somewhat surprising that they took offense at Jesus after witnessing His wisdom and mighty deeds. Jesus was very familiar to the townspeople, and it seems that...

The city began setting up a migrant shelter with 100 cots and baby supplies at Brooklyn’s McCarren Park Friday as Mayor Eric Adams refused to discuss the controversial move. Workers unloaded items from trucks to retrofit the park’s popular Play Center — which houses a basketball court and gym in hipster-friendly Williamsburg — and brought in “cots, military style,” cribs and baby formula. The facility, which Adams initially said would house “80 adult” migrants, appeared to be prepped for a family shelter — complete with baby wipes and toddler cots. There was no explanation from officials Friday about the discrepancy....

A new political action committee (PAC) has emerged in Texas that is being funded by leftist billionaire George Soros. However, it appears that Soros is the organization’s fiscal lifeline. A separate filing shows the group raised a total of $752,040 overall during those months.
