LEDYARD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Ledyard man is accused of assaulting a woman with a gallon milk jug and then pouring the milk on her. Responding officers said they saw milk covering the entire dining room area in the home. Gregory Startz, 39, was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct. Russia's defence ministry said early on Tuesday that it had thwarted another major offensive by Ukrainian forces in Donetsk, inflicting huge personnel losses and destroying eight main battle Leopard tanks as Kyiv forces pressed on. "Having suffered heavy losses the day before, the Kiev regime reorganized the remnants of the 23rd and 31st mechanized brigades into separate consolidated units, which continued offensive operations," the ministry said on its Telegram channel. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended North Miami Beach Mayor Anthony DeFillipo II on Monday after the mayor was arrested on felony charges related to voting irregularities. In an executive order, the Republican governor said Mr. DeFillipo “is prohibited from performing any official act, duty, or function of public office; from receiving any pay or allowance,” effective immediately. Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said Mr. DeFillipo, a Democrat, cast ballots in August, October and November 2022 in elections for a North Miami Beach district in which he was not legally qualified to vote.
