I've turned off Fox News completely, like many here, and in the aftermath, I've watched a couple of Megyn Kelly's Shows. NOW HOLD OFF, I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING..."I WOULDN'T WATCH BLANKETLY BLANK OR HER BLANKETY BLANK BLANK SHOW ETC.!!!!!" Like just about everyone on this forum, she pis*ed me off with her chicken shit questioning of Trump during the 2016 debates, but She really upset me more, when she remarked on her Fox Show one night, that she had received a "creepy letter" from Donald Trump congratulating her on her new promotion at Fox. I thought what an ungratefully...

A deep slumber might help buffer against memory loss for older adults facing a heightened burden of Alzheimer's disease, research suggests. Deep sleep, also known as non-REM slow-wave sleep, can act as a "cognitive reserve factor" that may increase resilience against a protein in the brain called beta-amyloid that is linked to memory loss caused by dementia. The new research reveals that superior amounts of deep, slow-wave sleep can act as a protective factor against memory decline in those with existing high amounts of Alzheimer's disease pathology—a potentially significant advance. The researchers recruited 62 older adults from the Berkeley Aging...

As Ronald Reagan might say — there they go again. The “they” this time around is the Never Trump chorus insisting that not only can’t former President Donald Trump win the 2024 election, but he shouldn’t even be trying. Whether it’s Bush-cheerleader Karl Rove in the Wall Street Journal, or, in the same place, Ruth R. Wisse, a professor emerita at Harvard University, or the esteemed Andrew C. McCarthy over at National Review, or more scattered over the political landscape, the Trump naysayers are out in force, predicting, of course, that the former president’s reelection bid is dead in the...

John 14:1-6 Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” Either Jesus is who he says he is (in which case we are obliged to give our whole lives to him), or he is a madman (in which case we should be against him). What does not remain, as C.S. Lewis saw so clearly, is the bland middle position that, though he isn’t divine, he is a good, kind, and wise ethical teacher. If he isn’t who he says he is, then he isn’t admirable at all. Thus Jesus compels a choice in a...
