WHO first declared COVID-19 to be an emergency more than three years ago. The U.N. health agency's officials said that even though the emergency phase was over, the pandemic hasn't come to an end, noting recent spikes in cases in Southeast Asia and the Middle East...

More than three years later, the virus has caused an estimated 764 million cases globally and about 5 billion people have received at least one dose of vaccine.
In the U.S., the public health emergency declaration made regarding COVID-19 is set to expire on May 11, when wide-ranging measures to support the pandemic response, including vaccine mandates, will end. Many other countries, including Germany, France and Britain, dropped many of their provisions against the pandemic last year.

Yet our local hospital is still requiring masks when you visit.

My mother died of cancer in that time.

I had folks deny that this happened, even here in the FR, but I flat out experienced it first hand with my mother.
That included depending where and for what, folks with pneumonia, heart and kidney disease as well as folks with cancer and a plethora of mental disorders.
Where it is hard to deny what happened is in the realm of mental illnesses where you saw a huge spike in suicides. Again, delays and degradation in care (virtual) were the cause.
The beauty of something like Covid is that it’s very hard to show causality. Unless of course you want to and count everyone that had mere symptoms of the flu or cold and died as a Covid fatality, as actually was the case early on and before there was a test.
While the government and medical establishment runs around waving their bullshit statistics of Covid fatalities around, the reality is that no one was counting the number of people that died because of the poor care they received.
America went backwards 2019 - 2022.
