[NOTE: I just posted the following message on Twitter.]Just a thought here: How about if Russia agrees to free the jailed WSJ reporter [Evan Gershkovich] in exchange for the USA dropping ALL charges against Julian Assange so he too can become a FREE man? This offer by Putin would put the ball in Biden's court.Whether or not Biden agrees to the deal, it helps Putin's image. And with that image improvement he would have enough prestige to make a PEACE deal with Ukraine to end that DANGEROUS war and prevent a possible nuclear holocaust. This is even beyond freeing a...

President Biden is set to propose new gas-powered car and light truck emissions standards next week as part of the administration's latest push for electric vehicles. Sources familiar with the announcement, who asked to remain anonymous, told Bloomberg that the standards would be the strictest ever proposed, just short of an EV mandate or gas-powered vehicle ban. In Detroit next Wednesday, the Biden administration is predicted to announce heavy restrictions on tailpipe emissions of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, and other vehicle emissions. In 1951, on a cold, snowy, windy April day, my parents and I were driving from Cheyenne to Colorado. Long before I-25 improved that journey, we were on two-lane U.S. 85 through tiny Nunn, whose water tower sign (“Watch Nunn Grow”) always made me laugh. None of us were smiling that day; we were anxious, not just about what we faced in Denver, but also about whether my father could stay on the highway, so limited was the visibility. It was agonizingly slow-going. At last, he saw an oncoming vehicle, pulled to the side of the road, and threw his...
