Pray For The Peace of JerusalemMark 9 Causing to Stumble42 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea. 43 If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. [44] [b] 45 And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter...

THE EXECUTIVE SESSION. The Senate were in Executive Session to-day six hours, and nearly cleared the calendar of Executive nominations. There was a very warm contest over the confirmation of CASSIUS M. CLAY. It is understood that the President made a special request of his friends in the Senate to confirm him, which was accordingly done. There are not more than six or eight Major and Brigadier-Generals unconfirmed, among whom are F.P. BLAIR, W.H. WRIGHT, Col. COGGSWELL, and G. GRANGER. All the Judges for the District Court here were confirmed, except Judge WYLIE. The Senate Military Committee have considered for...

At the beginning of March of 2023, your Congress, the U.S. House & the U.S. Senate, both passed legislation that makes null and void the Biden administration’s mandate that investment companies, nationwide, consider ESG standards when evaluating investments for their clients. This legislation is heading to the White House where President Biden has vowed to veto it. The veto, if not overridden by both houses of Congress, would allow the ESG mandate imposed by the U.S. Department of Labor to remain in place. What the heck is ESG? In short, it stands for environmental, social and governance. So, the new...

On Friday, March 3, 2023, the Nebraska Constitutional Carry bill LB77 passed a critical vote in the Nebraska legislature. Nebraska is the only unicameral legislature in the 50 states of the United States. When Nebraska switched from a traditional bi-cameral legislature to a unicameral one, in 1934, at the height of the Progressive revolution, safeguards were put in place to prevent a simple majority from exerting excessive power.Bills proposed in the legislature have to pass three votes which require debate and maybe filibustered. The three votes are the General File (done, 36 to 12), the Select File (pending), and the...

Los Angeles-area real estate magnate Mark Handel was once able to get state legislation specially drafted to suit his developments, persuade the city council to give his projects an interest-free six-figure loan, and to cultivate ties with men who would later represent the region in the House of Representatives and U.S. Senate. But according to materials from a forthcoming documentary—which The Daily Beast corroborated through public records research and conversations with San Fernando Valley insiders—Handel, now facing federal fraud and money-laundering charges, maintained a parallel career as one of the most notorious and misogynistic figures in hardcore porn: Khan Tusion....

More Americans grasp how the U.S. government actually works. Large corporate interests pay off politicians and bureaucrats to advance their financial interests. In return, those politicians and bureaucrats are responsible for creating new problems for the American people that can be exploited to justify spending huge sums of money — the bulk of which falls into the laps of the large corporate interests. The pharmaceutical industry, for instance, would love for lawmakers to mandate that Americans purchase and use their products in perpetuity. Big Pharma then pays hospitals, research scientists, and medical doctors to push its products. It privately funds...

Californians are weighing in publicly on the idea of reparations to Black Americans, with the state’s Reparations Task Force set to report their recommendations by July 1. This initiative builds on smaller-scale efforts, such as in my hometown of Evanston, Ill., which in 2021 became the first U.S. city to promise limited financial reparations for slavery and city-sanctioned discriminatory housing policies. This racial wealth gap on its own makes a strong case for reparations. But it should be joined by an equally egregious and often less acknowledged health gap: In the U.S., Black lives are years shorter on average than...

If you’ve ever wondered why the Left is so successful in fooling so many people for so long, you might consider branding expert Rob Frankel’s observation. The average IQ score is 100, encompassing about 68% of the population. If you add in the population who isn't even that bright, all the way down to the bottom of the barrel, you'll find that an astonishing 84% of the population ranges from "average" to "breathing paperweight." That leaves about 16% of people who are "above average" or "really, really smart." (Actually post “pandemic,” I believe U.S. I.Q. scores have gone down for...

A woman from England has revealed that she mistakenly ate a heart-shaped potato chip that could have awarded her a massive cash prize. Dawn Sagar, an Oswestry resident in Shropshire, found the chip, or "crisp" as they say in England, in a bag of Walkers – a British snack food company known for manufacturing potato crisps. Sagar was unaware that the snack was of value at the time, FOX 5 Atlanta reported. The chip could have made Sagar the winner of the "Heart Shaped Crisp Hunt" – a contest hosted by Walkers.

Are you ready to say goodbye to all the high costs of owning a car and hello to a new electric cargo bike as a cost-effective alternative? When first I saw this invention, I thought it seemed crazy. While an electric cargo bike may not be suitable for everyone, particularly those who need to transport large or heavy items, it is a viable option for many seeking a more sustainable and cost-effective mode of transportation. **SNIP** And hey, I could use the exercise and the help of a battery-powered ride when things get heavy. That's the idea behind the Mate...

Kids in New York schools could be doing even worse on state exams than we thought – because educrats are cloaking failure with misleading stats. An analysis by The Post of the 2022 statewide test results in English and math found that the state fudged its overall results by ignoring the nearly 20% of kids who went untested — most because they refused to take the exams altogether. So while the state Education Department claimed in October that New York state students in grades 3-8 achieved a 47% proficiency rate in English Language Arts in 2022, only 38% of kids...

A black director of a “woke” California college’s Office of Equity, Social Justice and Multicultural Education claims she was fired for questioning the institution’s anti-racism “orthodoxy” and what the term “anti-racism” even means. Dr. Tabia Lee said De Anza College, a community college in Cupertino, retaliated after she objected to several campus policies aimed at inclusion. “I was working in a California community college, and I noticed that there was a lot of resistance to my even asking questions about anti-racism, policy efforts and language,” Lee told nonprofit Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism.

The US intelligence community believes that individuals with ties to Russian intelligence are planning to stage protests in Moldova to try to foment a manufactured insurrection against the Moldovan government, with the ultimate goal of seeing a more pro-Russia administration installed there, White House officials said Friday. The US believes that Russia is working to weaken the Moldovan government which is seeking closer ties with the European Union, National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications John Kirby said, The US is also seeing signs that Russian government-linked actors could provide training to anti-government demonstrators in Moldova. The country’s capital, Chisinau,...

My former boss and mentor Dick Armey, the former House majority leader, used to quip that "liberals love jobs, but they hate employers." Based on his budget proposal released earlier this week, you would have to say that Biden flat-out loathes employers. Never before in American history has a president released a budget/tax plan that wallops American businesses with a bigger tax bill than this. The budget Biden proposes contains roughly $4 trillion in higher taxes over the next decade. He keeps saying that he just wants millionaires and billionaires to "pay their fair share," but this plan isn’t so...

In our Constitutional order we find comforts unknown to many nations. We can go about our lives without concern over a matter that often threatened kingdoms since ancient times: succession to the executive power. Thanks to an Electoral College that avoids direct elections we safely affirm our Presidents. We needn’t fear the turmoil and angst that often attends the replacement of one king with another. And we do it every four years!Except, there is reason for concern. Despite its outward appearances there was a dangerous undercurrent to the 2016 Presidential election that warped post-election events. The outgoing President regarded his...

She raised particular concerns about a message sent to Miller by another agent who works on covert activity — and who she said did not work on the Proud Boys case — describing a supervisor’s order to “destroy 338 items of evidence.” Some of the messages appeared to reveal that FBI agents accessed contacts between defendant Zachary Rehl and his attorney
