WHEN IT COMES TO UKRAINE AND RUSSIA, THE UNITED STATES INTEL COMMUNITY IS CONFUSING PYRITE WITH GENUINE GOLD 26 February 2023 by Larry Johnson 131 Comments FacebookTwitterEmailShare I am following up on my previous posts about the failure of the U.S. intelligence community, the CIA in particular, in providing an accurate, objective assessment of the war in Ukraine and what is happening in Russia. I no longer hold clearances and have not had access to the classified intelligence assessments. However, I have heard that the finished intelligence being supplied to U.S. policymakers continues to declare that that Russia is on...

Americans' spending spree is keeping inflation elevated and sticky, meaning the Federal Reserve must crush consumer demand with more interest rate hikes that will likely induce a recession, according to Bank of America. In a Monday note, analysts explained that the Fed is unlikely to reach its 2% inflation target unless it leans into much more interest rate hikes. The odds of a downturn are high in that scenario, they maintained, because the non-consumer sectors of the economy already look weak. "The strength in the January activity and inflation data suggests that the Fed might have to hike considerably further...

Connecticut has an alcohol problem when it comes to driving. In 2020, 40-percent of all crashes involved drinking. Lawmakers are deciding whether to lower the legal blood alcohol limit. Only one other state, Utah, has done this. New York and a few others are considering it. The transportation committee heard strong testimony on why this will save lives. “To be frank, Connecticut has a drunk driving problem,” said Garrett Eucalitto, Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner. Eucalitto said what we are doing isn’t working. He supports legislation to lower the legal blood alcohol level from .08 to .05. That same message...

David Sacks@DavidSacks · Feb 26 I was talking to an international investor who says the corruption in Ukraine is beyond belief. Theft and bribery are endemic — much worse than in Latin America. The oligarchs must be feasting on our hundred billion.

Welcome to Florida! We’re glad to have you. If you’re white. Black people are such a lot of trouble, aren’t they, always demanding “equal justice” and voting rights and AP classes blaming white people for stuff like slavery and lynching and whatever. They get a whole month to talk about Martin Luther King: What more do they want? But they keep going on marches and demanding we talk about racism as if we haven’t solved that. There are actual black quarterbacks now, so what’s the problem? Welcome to Florida! We love families. Except ones with trans kids. If you have...

It’s been a long time since former House Speaker Paul Ryan had any relevance to the base of the Republican Party. He’s long since been dismissed. But that hasn’t stopped him from thinking that, somehow, what he says holds some sway.Ryan sat down with WITI Milwaukee’s Jason Calvi, and he said that he would not be attending the upcoming 2024 Republican National Convention if President Donald Trump was the nominee. “It depends on who the nominee is. I’ll be here [in Milwaukee at the convention] if it’s someone not named Trump.”Former U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan from Wisconsin says he won't...

New York(CNN) Rupert Murdoch, the chairman of Fox Corporation, acknowledged in a deposition taken by Dominion Voting Systems that some Fox News hosts endorsed false claims that the 2020 election was stolen. Murdoch's remarks were made public in a legal filing as part of Dominion's $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News. In his deposition, Murdoch rejected that the right-wing talk network as an entity endorsed former President Donald Trump's election lies. But Murdoch conceded that Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, Maria Bartiromo, and former host Lou Dobbs promoted the falsehood about the presidential contest being stolen. "Some of our commentators were...

MSNBC blowhard Donny Deutsch insisted the Democrats’ laundry list of inflation-exacerbating spending initiatives throughout President Joe Biden’s time in office was just the epitome of competence. Insufferable MSNBC Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough belched that the the people running the Michigan and Arizona GOP are supposedly “even bigger insurrectionists, bigger weirdos, bigger freaks” than the 2022 electoral cycle. The smug Deutsch, who once claimed that one in three Americans were racists, regurgitated Scarborough's anti-GOP drivel and praised the Democrats’ “blocking and tackling” starting “with our president.” Deutsch started throwing out economically disastrous leftist pipe dreams like “the climate bill,” Biden’s...

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence will be skipping CPAC 2023 this year as President Donald Trump delivers the keynote speech. DeSantis and Pence will avoid the uncomfortable results of the grassroots straw poll outcome, which – given the nature of their political interests – could potentially be embarrassing for the people who are organizing their ‘stop Trump’ campaign. After spending the weekend with billionaire donors and republicans molded purchased by the Sea Island (Big Club) influence, DeSantis will be traveling the country promoting his Rupert Murdoch funded book with stops in Texas and California. The...

The government-appointed panel responsible for determining the amount of reparations San Francisco should provide to its Black residents did not rely on a mathematical formula. Rather, the panel’s 15 members spent the last year and a half studying the city’s history to develop a proposal. One idea being debated is to provide $5 million each to eligible Black residents. The report by the San Francisco Human Rights Commission’s Reparations Advisory Committee is a comprehensive document that provides a detailed analysis of the history of discrimination against Black residents in San Francisco. The committee studied various forms of discrimination, such as...

"But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut." "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before...

The Supreme Court is poised to hear back-to-back oral arguments for two student loan-related cases on Tuesday, in what could be the final hurdle for the Biden administration’s student loan forgiveness plan. In August, President Joe Biden announced a program that would forgive up to $20,000 in debt for borrowers with federally held student loans, impacting more than 40 million borrowers. Applications for the program opened in October, but a federal judge in Texas put the program on hold in November, ruling that the program was “unlawful.” In both of the cases heading to the Supreme Court, Biden v. Nebraska—a...

To judge by several early polls, Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida has a decent shot of beating former President Donald Trump in the race to win the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. Some liberals have pronounced this terrible news — because, they say, a DeSantis presidency would be just as awful as, and perhaps even worse than, a second Trump term. This is wrong. A DeSantis presidency would be bad in many ways, and my fellow liberals should fight with all they have to prevent it. But Mr. DeSantis almost certainly would not be worse than Mr. Trump. Exaggerating the...
