I was talking to an international investor who says the corruption in Ukraine is beyond belief. Theft and bribery are endemic — much worse than in Latin America. The oligarchs must be feasting on our hundred billion.

#3 - I am a staunch supporter of Ukraine and their right to defend themselves (and to the restoration of their pre-2014 borders) - but I also know for a fact they have a problem with corruption. The people know - they people (talking about the average folks on the streets) hate it - their distrust of all government officials is stifling.

Ukraine has long been a money laundering cesspool for democrats. Send “foreign aid”, get kickbacks. There are many other such locations, but Ukraine was central hence their desperate attempts to keep the gravy train going.
In the early 1970’s, I remember how the left complained about the corruption in South Vietnam and how that corruption was a justification of halting all US aid.

Back in the 80’s I visited family in Europe who either lived through Nazism or were living under Communist. “The media lied” was a common discussion.
