Is Ukraine winning? Is Russia winning? What exactly are the battlelines and how have they changed? The answers are murky at best, though it’s at least clear that Russia’s initial gambit hasn’t gone to plan. The word “stalemate” comes to mind given the stagnation on the eastern front of the war, where most of the fighting has occurred. That could change in the spring, as both sides have promised coming offensives. Regardless, what’s not in question is that Americans have been incredibly generous in the amount of money and war materials that have been given to Ukraine to help them...

(209 kilometers)Someone should probably forward this to Elon Musk because it sounds like China is gunning for him, possibly in a quite literal fashion. The South China Morning Post is reporting that China has begun a space program that aims to put nearly 13,000 satellites into low-Earth orbit in the next four years. Most of these (but not all) will be communications satellites intended to create a global network to rival Elon Musk’s Starlink program. The Chinese claim that they’re trying to make sure they get their fair share of orbital slots, which seems harmless enough. But they’ll be doing...

Attorney Kisha Hebbon joined 'Fox & Friends' to discuss the ban and how it will impact morale and staffing woes. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass called to remove "obstacles" for new police recruits and pledged to root out officers with ties to "right-wing domestic extremist organizations." Bass is looking to remove "obstacles" for police recruits who fail to initially qualify for training as a means of further diversifying the LAPD, according to a summary of her public safety goals obtained by Fox News Digital – but police union leaders are questioning the move. RedState’s Kira Davis and I have both written about Canada’s macabre Medical Assitance in Dying (MAiD) law, which allows non-terminally ill people to end their lives with the help of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government. The law—and its 31,000+ casualties, or a shocking 3.3 percent of all 2021 Canadian deaths—is already creepy enough, but now it’s taking an even darker turn.Canada is considering allowing kids to end their lives—without the consent of their parents. Per DailyMail:In its long-awaited report, the Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) recommended that ‘mature minors’ whose deaths were ‘reasonably foreseeable’ could access...

Homeowners and builders are calling a possible ban on certain gas-powered appliances in the San Francisco Bay Area an extreme move, forcing a region prone to blackouts to rely even further on an over-burdened electrical supply. "This is just pure extremist politics being taken to the ultimate extremes," said National Association of Home Builders CEO Jerry Howard. "You talk to anybody in California, their electrical grid can't take the current strain in the summer, obviously, and you're going to add to it by making every car electric, every furnace, every air conditioner, every refrigerator, every stove electric?" "Once you start...

At the end of February 2023, the price of oil (WTI and Brent), Henry Hub and ICE natural gas, aluminum, copper, steel, corn, wheat, and the Baltic Dry Index are below the February 2022 levels. The Supply Chain Index and the global supply-demand balance, published by Morgan Stanley, have declined to September 2022 levels. However, the latest inflation readings are hugely concerning.Considering the previously mentioned prices of commodities and freight, if inflation were a “cost-push” phenomenon, it would have collapsed to 2% levels already. However, both headline and core inflation measures, from the Consumer Price Index (CPI) to Personal Consumer Expenditure...

We have read some straight-up evil and awful threads on Twitter (yay, it’s part of what we do) but this one from a teacher? Ummm … yikes. It crossed our timeline when AG Hamilton called her out: Absolutely horrifying that this person is actually in a position to teach children. While there may be gray areas, children are generally not in a position to be able to consent to sexual relations with an adult and the harm is obvious. https://t.co/3bBZ0EKn4n — AG (@AGHamilton29) February 26, 2023 Here’s the actual thread. 🧵🧵🧵THREAD: Sometimes in education, a student hits you with what...

Owners of electric vehicles are finally admitting that recharging away from home is a total "logistical nightmare," between finding charging stations, and the fact that in the best case scenarios it takes 30 to 40 minutes, and up to two hours, to recharge."We're going through the planning process of how easily Maddie can get from Albany to Gettysburg [College] and where she can charge the car," said YouTube personality Steve Hammes, who leased a Hyunday Kona Electric SUV for his 17-year-old daughter, Maddie."It makes me a little nervous. We want fast chargers that take 30 to 40 minutes -- it...

Fox News is running an hour-long campaign infomercial to support Florida Governor Ron DeSantis winning the 2024 GOP primary nomination. Inside the political messaging, Jeb Bush gives his full-throated endorsement. {Direct Rumble Link} WATCH:Based on current available evidence, the announcement of a 2024 presidential bid is a mere formality, likely to surface later in 2023, as all the background datapoints reflect the strategic and financial team behind Ron DeSantis have been positioning an announcement since late 2021. [Catholic Caucus] Marcel Lefebvre and the Passion of the ChurchKnowing Reality When You See ItMuch ink has been spilled on the topic of the Society of Saint Pius X and Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, and I imagine much more will be written as history continues. Are they schismatic? Was Lefebvre a renegade? Was he a rebel? Was Pope John Paul II correct to do what he did? And so on.No matter how many arguments are made, no matter how many documents are promulgated, and no matter how many debates are won and lost, there are those who see the truth about the...

When Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene called (again) for "national divorce" this week, a common retort among her detractors on Twitter was to claim that so-called red states are heavily dependent on so-called blue states to pay for pretty much everything.Reporter Molly Knight claimed, for example, that "Red states get their money for roads and cops and schools from blue states. You cut off that gravy train and you e [sic] got a third world country."Others claimed that red states would be "entirely broke" without blue states. America's social democrats have apparently fully gone over to pushing the narrative that the...

Accused Idaho murderer Bryan Kohberger could face a firing squad if he is found guilty for the quadruple homicide of four college students last year. Lawyers are believed to be gearing up for the possibility of a death penalty trial for the 28-year-old criminal justice major - who remains the only suspect Prosecutors haven't yet indicated whether they intend to pursue the death penalty for Kohberger, although it seems likely they will, given the gravity of his alleged crimes. Rep. Bruce Skaug has introduced a bill that would once again allow for execution by firing squad in the state, as...
