Multiple energy experts blasted Vice resident Kamala Harris after she claimed Wednesday that the Biden administration has successfully reduced home heating and electricity prices. "For working families, we have reduced heating and electricity bills so folks have more money in their pockets to buy things like schools supplies, replace the dishwasher or take a family vacation," the vice resident remarked during a speech in Maryland. However, experts said the comments were inaccurate and noted that utility prices for most Americans have increased since resident Biden and Harris took office in January 2021. They also slammed Harris for being "completely out...

San Francisco announced Thursday that it will end its public health emergency for COVID-19 on Feb. 28, just over three years after it was put into place... In an interview Thursday, San Francisco health officer Dr. Susan Philip said that the move is a positive one, signaling that COVID-19 is no longer the “really severe threat” that it was three years ago, but that it does not mean that COVID is over. Instead, she said, it indicates that the tools — including masks, vaccines and treatments — are now in place for people to respond to the virus on an...

For the first time, humans with type 1 diabetes, or T1D, have received two treatments called GABA and GAD that have shown promise in animal studies and in isolated human pancreas islets. This clinical trial focused exclusively on children with recent onset T1D. Strategies to ameliorate or cure T1D target the preservation of insulin-secreting beta cells and/or attenuation of the relative excess of alpha cell glucagon. Most importantly, concerning the inhibition of alpha cell glucagon in this trial by GABA/GAD, recent studies in animals made diabetic have shown that inhibition of glucagon leads to expansion of insulin-secreting beta cells and...

Researchers led by Prof. Neta Erez identified and characterized a new mechanism that facilitates the formation of brain metastases and found that impairing this mechanism significantly reduced the development of brain metastases in mice. Brain metastases are one of the deadliest forms of cancer metastasis. The researchers show that Lipocalin-2 (LCN2) is a key factor in inducing neuroinflammation in the brain. Moreover, the researchers found that high LCN2 levels in patients' blood and brain metastases from several types of cancer are associated with disease progression and reduced survival. LCN2 is a secreted protein that functions in the innate immune system...

Tennessee lawmakers passed a bill on Thursday restricting drag performances in public or in front of children, putting the state at the forefront of a Republican-led effort to limit drag in at least 15 states in recent months. The more than 20 bills nationwide are a pushback against modern drag, which has grown from an underground performance art using costumes and makeup to play with gender norms, which flourished in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender venues, to a mainstream entertainment, helped in part by the popularity of the televised pageant show “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

The Epoch Times has more. Together, they developed a “platform to maximise the longstanding U.S. Government-WHO partnership, and to protect and promote the health of all people around...
