Wes Allen Finds Vacant Virtual Office at ERIC Address
Secretary of State-Alabama ^ | 2/23/23 | Wes Allen staff

Posted on 02/23/2023 8:51:04 PM PST by CFW

On February 15, 2023, Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen made an unannounced visit to the published address of the headquarters of the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC) at 1201 Connecticut Ave NW Ste 600 in Washington, DC. Upon arriving at the address, Allen found that the location was actually the home of a virtual shared workspace and that no ERIC headquarters existed at the location.

“I was in DC for a meeting of the National Association of Secretaries of States and, since I was in town, I went to see the ERIC Headquarters,” Allen explained. “What I found was that there was no ERIC headquarters at that address. There were no employees. There were no servers. There was no ERIC presence of any kind. Instead, I found a virtual office that is rentable by the day. What it was missing was people, servers and any sign of the ERIC team.”

I stumbled across this press release and thought Freepers might find it interesting.

If you read off the ERIC web site....it says: “ERIC is a non-profit corporation governed by a board of directors made up of member-states.”

Yet there is not a single name listed on the site.

I looked around...it seems like the US Dept of Education funds it...probably IT support from their group maintain it (from a distance). Wouldn’t shock me if chief guru was located in Chicago, and worked from home.

“Wouldn’t shock me if chief guru was located in Chicago, and worked from home.”

For some reason, I suspect Eric Holder is involved. His name immediately comes to mind each time I see the corporation’s name, ERIC.

Thanks. It’s amazing how filtered our news sources are as to what we are allowed to “consume”. If you look at news sites each day, they all have the same stories via Reuters or the AP, and even if some of the wording is changed, it’s all presented to us through the left-wing perspective.

Even my “local” news site (from the nearest large town to my rural county), has the same main headline of whatever is the topic of choice for the day (currently sometime on the trans issue) and is the same headline of another “local” new site in my state but in a city 150 miles away. The remainder of the “news” is the press releases from the local and state sports team, the nearest liberal cities latest social justice initiative, press releases from the University (latest AA hire), and a review of the recently installed affirmative action exhibit at the local arts center.

After that is a couple of letters to the editor of which all are supporting some progressive agenda or another. The police blotter has been removed entirely so crime reports are non-existent (in order that the incoming college students will not learn that crime is prevalent in certain parts of the university town).

It’s very important to view alternative independent media sites that look for stories that are truly important but are ignored by corporate media.

I found the link to the ERIC story from Citizen Free Press or Liberty Daily (can’t which remember now), and I recommend those as two sites that find those stories that the usual media either ignore or work hard to hide or re-frame.

I've had this type of office space a couple of times in the 1990s. Once was totally a virtual office like described in the OP. The second time I rented an actual office that I used as needed for about 9 months. Most, probably all major cities have have this kind of business around. IIRC the common name these businesses go under is Business or Office Suites.

These businesses are typically in an upscale business tower from my limited experience. Services they offer are ala cart. Rent what you want, pay for a day or sign a long term lease.

The first time was in Albuquerque. For business reasons, I needed a NM address. Only had one contract though and my staff was out of the TX office. I lived in VA. So ala cart instant NM regional office for the duration of the contract. Had a receptionist to answer local phone number in company name, receive mail etc. Totally transparent that I wasn't based in NM. My boss took it surprisingly well when I promoted myself to the western regional manager for the new business card I printed up.

The second time I dealt with a business suite was the opposite extreme. I had a physical office with Ethernet, furniture, phone, etc. and a conference room available as needed at a daily or hourly rate. The scenario was I needed to be in Denver for several days each week and my permanent location was Atlanta. A hotel suite wasn't compatible for doing the work.

So, the rent a office business model has been around for quite a time. I will say though that going with the 100% virtual office extreme can be manipulated to camouflage something.

It would be interesting to note who funds ERIC, to what extent, and where does the money go?

They don’t claim any real property outside of computer equipment, software and a website.

So, this is a remote run operation.

Interesting tidbit on a board member:

Monica Evans
Executive Director, Washington D.C. Board of Elections

(Alexandria, VA) – December 6, 2021: Today, the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) filed a federal lawsuit against Monica Evans, the Executive Director of the District of Columbia Board of Elections, for failure to permit inspection of voter list maintenance records as required by the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA).

“ERIC is being used to hide decisions about who gets to vote and who is removed from the rolls,” said PILF President J. Christian Adams. “Transparency in elections leads to trust in results and accountability for election officials. ERIC and its agreement with the District of Columbia is standing in the way of transparency and violating federal law.”

excerpt from the piece:

Ericka Haas is the System Engineer at ERIC, for 9 years now. She previously worked in the Oregon Secretary of State’s office with Lindback. In February 2018, DHS created the Elections Infrastructure Sector Coordinating Council (SCC). Haas shares a seat on this council with staff from Dominion, ES&S, Smartmatic, and Unisyn Voting. SCC represents 30 companies responsible for providing key components to our elections, including public policy. The SCC group rubs noses with GCC council, which includes CISA, EAC, NASS, NASED. This insider bootlicking and glad handing is the result of former DHS Director Jeh Johnson declaring our elections “critical infrastructure”.
