Tennessee lawmakers passed a bill on Thursday restricting drag performances in public or in front of children, putting the state at the forefront of a Republican-led effort to limit drag in at least 15 states in recent months.
The more than 20 bills nationwide are a pushback against modern drag, which has grown from an underground performance art using costumes and makeup to play with gender norms, which flourished in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender venues, to a mainstream entertainment, helped in part by the popularity of the televised pageant show “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

Of course, DeSantis is the one who actually took a lead on the issue, but leftist media have to frame each new push-back against trans-groomers as an "outrage" which everyone should be shocked is occurring.
Leftist groomers hardest hit. Expect lies and push-back from the democrats and their media mouthpieces.
If more than one state tries to ban the drag shows and they are in competition to be first, is that a drag race?
From the Beach Boys I Get Around
I’m gettin’ bugged driving up and down the same old strip
I gotta find a new place where the kids are hip
My buddies and me are getting real well known
Yeah, the bad guys know us and they leave us alone
I get around
Normal is better than crazy.
I thought they were fun
Matt Walsh played a clip in which one of the maniacs called this bill “genocide.” It’s so sad. Being barred from sexualizing the children is the same as maxis gassing Jews, the Cambodian killing fields, the massacre of the Armenians, etc
These hysterical queens are prone to hyperbole.
I’m glad that some state legislatures are displaying common sense.
“Matt Walsh played a clip in which one of the maniacs called this bill “genocide.”
_______
I saw some of the testimony. The maniac speaker I viewed was totally unhinged. I was proud of the representative that objected to some of its’ (not sure of what to call the creature—she/he/it), comments. Especially when the representative said, “I can do this all day long”.
Sadly drag strips have been closing down for the last decade or more. NHRA has a few events regionally but Tennessee has dried up and local strips are few and far between. It was always a good night out with the family.
Drag was batter as an art form. It’s evolved into something else now.
I have some old friends whose daughter is a lesbian. They love their daughter and, in their eyes, her sexuality is just a natural thing. Some girls have boyfriends, this daughter has a girlfriend.
I asked them if they were aware of what the Bible says about homosexuality. "No, what?" was their response (they are churchgoers).
"Abomination."
I don't know what went through their minds when they heard that but I would think it was something like, "our daughter isn't doing anything except having a girlfriend...that's not abominable."
Though our conversation ended there, I would like to have added that "what your daughter is involved in is a gateway--like a gateway drug." "It leads downward into a hellishness that isn't apparent on the surface."
That said, we can see in our nation what kind of hellishness homosexuality leads down to. What started as tolerance of the "nice" gay people in our society is turning into something much, much darker. Though, like you, I have no experience with this matter, it is becoming clear that what started out as mere tolerance and acceptance is leading us all into what the Bible warns us about. Hellishness.
humanist ethics + relativistic ethics = new morality = drugs + sexual perversion + soft on crime + alternative lifestyles
Truth.
The ‘tolerant’ opened Pandora’s Box...what did they expect? Here in East Tennessee (part of the so-called Bible Belt), there have been THREE annual fag parades, with a fourth scheduled for September. THOUSANDS will attend...the fags have corporate sponsors, and the parade receives tons of positive media coverage. You may get two or three ‘normal’ protestors, NONE of them pastors, who are busy waiting for the rapture, I guess.
Besides that, most churches have families whose children are among the screamers.
My experience with pastors is that they are NOT ‘men’ of God Almighty...weak sauce, go along to get along types. Like Jesus said; ‘I never knew you.’
Quite literally a f**king drama queen. Just pathetic.
Typical MSM headline. No Republican state is “restricting drag shows”. If adults want to go see a drag show, so be it. The headline should read “Tennessee takes lead in Republican effort to stop the deliberate effort to expose children to LGBTQ porn and sexualization.
