Liberals in Canada folded amid backlash from farmers, hunters, and indigenous groups, and have removed hunting rifles and shotguns from the long list of firearms being banned under Prime Minister Trudeau’s “assault weapons” ban. On May 10, 2020, Breitbart News noted Trudeau’s “assault weapons” ban targeted 1,500 firearms, a number of which were bolt action rifles. Bolt action rifles require manual operation of the action between shots in order to eject a spent shell casing and load a fresh cartridge into the chamber. Such an action is typical for traditional hunting rifles, not “assault weapons.”

He also sent nearly $100,000 to his grandson, Federal Election Commission records show. While it's legal for federal politicians to pay family members from their campaigns, ethics experts have generally disapproved of the practice. Despite this, both political parties have taken advantage of the perk. Clyburn's family payments the last election cycle include $57,500...

People who use cannabis may need more anesthesia during procedures, but many remain wary of mentioning their habitThere’s a surprising side effect of a marijuana habit that many people don’t know: Regular users may need more anesthesia during medical procedures to remain sedated. As more states allow people to smoke pot and eat edibles legally, more doctors say they are asking about marijuana use—and urging honesty—before surgeries or procedures because habitual users may need more anesthesia and painkillers. In one study, people who reported they used cannabis required more anesthesia than people who didn’t use it. “It’s incredibly important to...

On this date in 1821, a first-time whaleship crewman named Owen Coffin was executed by a comrade to feed three starving mates. Coffin was the second-to-last victim of an event which shocked the whaling community and inspired the novel Moby Dick. Owen Coffin was a 17-year-old aboard a doomed whaling vessel called the Essex. He was cousin to George Pollard, Jr., who was making his first trek to the Pacific whaling grounds as a ship’s captain. The Essex sailed from Nantucket Island in 1819, one of dozens of ships to leave port in search of whales and, ultimately, whale oil....

Scotland’s green-obsessed left-separatist government has been left with egg on its face by revelations that dozens of gigantic onshore wind turbines are having to be hooked up to diesel generators, leaking thousands of litres of hydraulic oil into the countryside. Scottish Power — led by a Spaniard, Ignacio Galan, and actually a subsidiary of Spanish firm Iberdrola — conceded that some 71 of its turbines had to be hooked up to diesel generators to keep them warm in December, according to the Sunday Mail, with a whistleblower telling the left-leaning newspaper that problems with the turbines are deep-seated.

A fire at New Zealand’s largest egg producer has killed about 75,000 hens, sparking fears that a national egg shortage could worsen. The fire at a Zeagold farm broke out on Monday morning and had “taken better part of the day to contain”, a spokesperson for the company said. Twelve workers who were on site were “unharmed but very distressed”, the spokesperson said. Work was under way to assess how many hens had died, but Zeagold estimated it to be about 75,000. The fire may have ripple effects beyond the immediate demise of the hens, with concerns it may worsen...

(Daily readings from the USCCB)Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed. Mark 6:56It would have been truly awe-inspiring to witness Jesus healing the sick. The people who witnessed this clearly had never seen anything like it before. For those who were sick, or whose loved ones were sick, each healing would have had a powerful effect upon them and upon their whole family.Today, modern medicine, with its ability to treat so...

Our Lizard Overlords aka the Deep State have been floating the name of Michelle Obama for President of the United States since about five minutes after her husband Barack (Praise be upon him.) Obama won election in 2008. Call me a cynical RACIST YT woman, but if the Overlords wish it to be so, it will be so. Woe be unto us peasants if the fondest desires of the Deep State come to fruition. We began ruminating on this subject because the Washington Examiner posted this column today “Could Michelle Obama become the Democrats’ 2024 presidential nominee?”. It’s an honest...
