$7.3 billion is a far more significant amount, in comparison to the annual budget of the national government of little Norway (about $33.5), than is the far larger amounts given by the U.S. in comparison to its annual federal budget/spending.

Yet, in other ways that is good thing that Norway is doing; if only France and Germany would make contributions equal with Norway’s in comparison to their national government budgets.

Norway is CASH RICH due to North Sea hydrocarbons, yet they still charge close to $10/gallon for gas, with probably $9 of it going right into government coffers, being saved for a rainy day.

So now the rainy day is here and Norwegian drivers can drive with pride, knowing that their $10 gasoline is fueling the Ukrainian government.

Exactly. Because we know the humanitarian aid doesn’t reach those at the bottom.

I see these ads on Facebook all the time from groups asking for cash to feed Ukrainians.

Wasting money on weapons, they should save it for the rebuilding after the peace settlement.

Or: Norwegian drivers can drive with pride, knowing that their $10 gasoline is fueling the defense against russian aggression. When they came for Georgia, we did nothing because we weren’t Georgians. When they came for the Ukraine we did nothing... We all know how this ends.

“Or: Norwegian drivers can drive with pride, knowing that their $10 gasoline is fueling the defense against russian aggression.”

I didn’t realize Norway was under attack, but since they do share a border with Russia, and Russia is run by a madman who’s out of control, perhaps that is happening without me knowing it?

Norway has the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund of over 1 trillion dollars. They are completely protected and cacooned by the eu and nato. their contributions to their defense are minimal.
