"Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. "Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." "From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew, Chapter 4 1 Then was Jesus led up of the...

Joe Biden has been hit by crisis after crisis as a result of his own bad decisions, and oddly enough, they are starting to look alike. Take the latest China balloon incursion, where some kind of spying device has been sent over military installations throughout the U.S. interior, with Biden doing nothing about it. That's a sovereign violation that ought to be drawing a major response to an arrogant, expanding wannabe superpower desperate to flex is military muscles, yet Joe's response, that shooting the invading device down might create debris or hit a populated area (America is loaded with unpopulated...

This (day) marks the 40th anniversary of the untimely passing of Karen Carpenter. Her death was attributed to the effects of anorexia nervosa, from which she had suffered for several years.

All wild cats are majestic creatures that some of us wish to keep as pets. If you come face to face with their cubs, you wouldn't want them to grow into wild cats that can kill you. Needless to say, cubs are cutie pies and the teeny tiny versions of our wild friends! Sometimes we just want to look at pictures of adorable cubs in a futile but fun effort to identify the cutest.

The Readings for this Sunday remind me of the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, which I’ve had the privilege of visiting a couple of times in the past few years. This beautiful church is built on a hillside and is easily visible from much of the modern city of Nazareth. The architect designed the dome of the basilica to look like a lighthouse, symbolizing the light of Christ going out to all Nazareth and the rest of the Galilee region, in keeping with the theme of last week’s Gospel, “Those walking in darkness have seen a great light.” The...

U.S. — The Pentagon officially went ahead with their plan to shoot down the Chinese spy balloon as it was getting too close to Ukraine's borders, sources confirmed Saturday."We sent a strong message to China," said Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. "So long as the spy balloon stayed over America, we had peace. But the moment that spy balloon got a little too close to Ukraine - boom! We had to take it out."

During an interview on Newsmax TV on Friday, Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) stated that the Chinese spy balloon incident needs to be “a Sputnik moment” for the United States. Waltz stated, “I think a potential silver lining from this spy balloon incident is I’m hoping it’s a Sputnik moment for American society and the government in Washington, D.C. that we need — we absolutely need a wake-up call. This is the most massive spying operation that any adversary has undertaken against the United States and influence operation in American history. We are under assault from Chinese spying. It’s in our...

Onlookers swarmed social media with videos of the Chinese spy balloon being “taken out” over the waters in South Carolina Saturday. “Looks like here we see the contrail of the missile and the F-22 that fired the shot at the #ChinaSpyBalloon,” said user Thenewsarea51.

Fighter jets shot down the Chinese spy balloon over the Atlantic today after Joe Biden vowed to 'take care of it' and the FAA shutdown three airports in the Carolinas. A missile burst the balloon at 2.38pm and separated its payload - the metal structure carrying its cameras - sending it plummeting towards the ocean off Myrtle Beach. Footage showed a fighter jet screaming towards the spy aircraft before firing a missile which shredded the balloon as stunned locals watched from the coast. An operation was underway to recover the wreckage and retrieve any valuable intelligence before it sinks into...

Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida and a likely 2024 candidate for president, delivered on an earlier promise Wednesday when he said new gas stoves — in fact, all gas appliances — should be exempt from his state’s sales tax. DeSantis rolled out the first budget of his second term, and among the proposed breaks for taxpayers is a $7 million permanent exemption on appliances fueled by combustible gas, such as natural gas propane, butane, liquefied petroleum gas and syngas. The move comes as the debate over gas stoves has heated up in recent weeks. In an interview with Bloomberg...

Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has fired a government aide who made derogatory remarks about LGBT couples. Masayoshi Arai reportedly said he would not want to live next to, or look at, people in same-sex relationships. Mr Arai also warned that permitting gay marriage in Japan would lead to many abandoning the country. Mr Kishida said the remarks were "outrageous" and "completely incompatible" with his government's policies. Japan - a country still largely bound by traditional gender roles and family values - is the only G7 nation that does not recognise same-sex marriage.

A Democrat from the Florida Congressional delegation is taking aim at Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis over his decision to file a legal complaint against the institution responsible for hosting "A Drag Queen Christmas" event, which children were allowed to attend. The governor filed a six-count legal complaint against the Orlando Philharmonic Foundation for "exposing minor children to lewd sexual acts during a drag show that took place in Orlando on December 28," local outlet The Floridian reported Friday. Responding to DeSantis' complaint, which could result in the state revoking the institution’s liquor license, freshman Rep. Maxwell Frost, D-Fla., accused...

President Biden seemed extremely happy to take credit for the booming January jobs report, “We have created more jobs in two years than any presidential term within two years. That’s the strongest two years of job growth in history, by a long shot,” Biden boasted. Unfortunately, Biden could not leave well enough alone. Asked by a reporter whether he took responsibility for manufacturing the highest inflation in 40 years, he snapped “Do I take any blame for inflation? No. Because it was already there when I got here, man.”

We read in Ivan Drach: "The name Rus was torn from the heart of Kyiv by the iron hand of Peter." It happened 300 years ago, on October 22, 1721, when Tsar Peter I proclaimed the Moscow kingdom the "Russian Empire" and the Muscovites "Russians". Such a change in the name of the Moscow state posed a serious challenge to the identity of the Ukrainian people. "We are a people whose name was stolen" - this is how academician Mykhailo Hrushevsky described the situation a couple of centuries ago . The doctor of history, Yaroslav Dashkevich , commented on the...

WASHINGTON — The most expansive federal report in over two decades on guns and crime shows a shrinking turnaround between the time a gun was purchased and when it was recovered from a crime scene, indicating firearms bought legally are more quickly being used in crimes around the country. It also documents a spike in the use of conversion devices that make a semiautomatic gun fire like a machine gun, along with the growing seizure of so-called ghost guns, privately made firearms that are hard to trace.

As people across the nation and indeed across the globe continue to struggle financially due to inflation, lingering coronavirus outbreaks and the effects of the Russian war on Ukraine, we could all use more economic freedom to fill our pocketbooks and improve our quality of life. That is the lesson from the Fraser Institute’s annual Economic Freedom of North America and Economic Freedom of the World reports. Drawing upon both its own results and a wealth of other economic research, the Economic Freedom of North America report concluded that “economic freedom is positively correlated with per-capita income, economic growth, greater...

As we approach the first anniversary of the Russian military’s invasion of Ukraine, it’s becoming increasingly important for Americans to ask: Who benefits? America’s open checkbook for Ukraine is more likely to produce a long war than a swiftly decisive outcome. Three groups favor a long war in Ukraine: Vladimir Putin, the global industrial defense complex, and China. As long as a state of war persists in Ukraine, even at a low simmer, Putin achieves his goal: Ukraine will not be part of NATO. As President Eisenhower cautioned, an overly powerful military-industrial complex risks putting its own interests and the...

I tried to send a DM to Dave Landau on twitter but it said his @davelandau wasn't taking messages. Does someone know a way to direct message them? I was just wanting to know from him or Steven Crowder when we might expect to hear them again on a regular basis. I'd become quite hooked on their perfect mix of satire and incisive commentary. Steve left one armed with facts and their references that blasted the lame left out of the water. And Dave could come up with four of the funniest things you ever heard and take all of...
